The last social event she'd attended with any of the Zodiacs and knights had been the...'party' at the small, filthy apartment, so she had to admit she was a bit nervous about being at this one as well, even if it was just her and Eliza. Pharos. Whatever.

She wondered which one the girl preferred now. She wasn't even sure herself, really.

She was dressed for the day in a cream colored sweater-coat with a cable design based on milkweed pods, to which the knitter (her great aunt) had added small tufts of fluffy white mohair for the seed fluff. It wasn't as dramatic as fun-fur, but the small bits of furriness made the sweater just a bit more eccentric, and she liked it for that. It was belted over a dark purple turtleneck, and jeans that were an odd shade that she still wasn't sure how to quantify, they were an odd, but pleasant sort of grey-purply-coco, and worn with a pair of new doc martins. She tended to like heeled boots better, but lately she'd taken a bent for more...practical... footwear.

In her hands she was holding, and eyeing for signs of fault, an neat cardboard box taped shut with a leaf sticker and tied in a gold bow she'd bound a glass acorn charm to. She had a matching one in amber glass, but this one was green, like an unripe acorn. She thought it was cute, and a nice present to give to someone who, like her, had come back from the surrounding 'changed'.

Changed was a nice word for having your life turned on it's head. Chocolate, which the box was full of, was a nice way to feel a little better about it. She had included a few truffles, a couple squares of chili spiced dark chocolate, and something she'd been working on. Hollow chocolate cats with cordial inside.

...Zue still kind of made her feel like she was being driven to drink after all, it seemed appropriate. Though maybe not as appropriate as making Gemini cordials.

She eyed the box one more time and then knocked on the door, waiting for the answer with a trepidation she wasn't sure was entirely justified. They'd fought together, and some of them had even died (however briefly) for the same cause. A little social visit should really be nothing.

Eliza grinned with her doorbell rang and pounded through her small apartment to get it, kittens at her heals. She nearly tripped over one before she even got there. "Coming," she yelled, "I'm coming."

Her hair was wild and all over the place, having not been brushed or pinned back with any sort of accessories. She looked something like Brave's Merida without so many curls. She wasn't so nicely dressed as Holi, wearing a soft pale minty green turtle neck, with a short sleeved red and white striped hoodie atop it. It was paired with black floral legging and tied flats covered and rainbow hearts. A loud belt with the words I'll be your friend rested on her hips.

Eliza grabbed the door handle, kittens rubbing her ankles and mewing happily. Opening the door she grinned brightly, "Hi Holi. Watch your step, Puck, Lenore, and Hercules are good a tripping you up."

She moved gesturing for Holi to come into the tiny apartment. It was clean if a bit bright and rather eclectic with its mismatched furniture.

"Ooh kittens!" Kittens, at least one's that didn't start cussing at you, were hard to resist, and these three were no exception, and Holi warmed to them instantly. "How cute! Was it hard to find an place that let you keep pets?" She asked. "Here, I brought you some chocolates." She added, offering out the box. "I... wasn't sure what you'd like so I brought a few kinds."

Bright, clean and eclectic, that certainly seemed to fit what she'd seen of Pharos in her brief experience, and like the fluffy bits on her sweater, it was sort of charmingly eccentric.

"We've never had a cat, I think my mom is scared of them. Her Aunt used to have a giant Tom Cat that hated her."

The thought occured to her only after she'd offered out the chocolate box. "Oh God, you don't have allergies do you? I think there might be nuts in some of the chocolate, and one of them has chili, and..." People could be allergic to the most amazing things, and she didn't want to be responsible for someone collapsing and needing to be rushed to the ER.

Eliza grinned and made her way over to the royal blue couch, plopping down on on of the white and purple polka dotted pillows. She blinked a moment later, her smile turning to a frown eyes wide. "Oh I didn't even think to ask. Um I found them on the roof about two weeks back. I haven't seen their mom. I can't find her!"

She gave a little half smile taking the box of chocolate, "the lady downstairs has a dog though, so I hope its okay. I couldn't just leave them on the roof."

She frowned again, "Oh that awful, but I understand. Cats can be really picky sometimes. We have lots of cats back home. We don't want mice running a muck in the barn and the house."

Eliza grinned shaking her head, "no allergies," she said opening the box and plopping a chocolate in her mouth, before examining the bow that had been tied around the box and looking at the glass acorn. "Yum this chocolate is great," she said before holding out the bow, "what's this? It's so cute!"

"It's probably a good idea to check the rental agreement, people can get kicked out for that sort of thing." Holi noted, with a touch of concern as she knelt to scritch their ears."And taking care of three kitties and their vet bills would only be harder with a new place."

The Surrounding might have challenged her faith in the lack of magic in the world but it also hadn't stopped Holi from being, as her mother occasionally put it 'terminally practical'. (Usually in a tone that implied it was bad.)

"Glass Acorn, the cap is real though. I have one like it, I bought them on Etsy. I thought it would be cute to give the other girl pages, and you know... so much less chintsy than zodiac symbols."

Also less obvious, she still found it hard to believe that 'glamor' protected her identity.
PostPosted: Wed Nov 14, 2012 8:02 am

"I'll make sure to check later today. I really hope it's not a problem, but even if it is I will take them to my mother. I was planning on taking them to the vet back home who takes care of all our animals on the winter break anyway. So no biggie, right? Mom won't mind new kittens and she'll love there names!"

She looked to the glass acorn and smiled at it. "I love it and I bet the other's will too. I can keep it on the bow or I guess put it on a necklace, but you know I think I like it on the bow."

She took the bow and tied it around her head getting her untamed hair out of her face, giving it a mild bit of order. "So, how's life for you. Second year at a new school and all. It was so much back in October last year, but I think I adjusted well. Eleventh grade is rather fun so far! A lot of homework though and patrolling isn't really making it easier."

Eliza pulled the ginger kitten Hercules into her arms cuddling the little thing close and scratching under its chin. "Isn't that right Hercules? I'm up to do homework at dawn sometimes."

"I'll cross my fingers." Holi promised. The dog made it sound promising, but you just didn't know sometimes.

"School's ok, I'm doing alright in chemistry, but then Chemistry is KIND of like cooking. A plus B causes C... but I'd still rather go to a culinary school. I want to open a chocolate shop someday and I know there's more to learn. She sighed, resigned. "But I guess we need to be here... I guess." She paused again, attempting to coral one of the kittens for a cuddle. "I haven't been out as much as I guess I should. I've been trying to figure out how I feel about everything."
PostPosted: Wed Nov 14, 2012 8:41 am

Eliza gave a laughed and crossed her fingers with a grin before getting up off the couch and stretching, Hercules jumping from her arms and making his way over to Holi.

"I'm not such a fan of Chemisty, I much prefer History and English. I also can't cook very well at all. Mom's great at it, but I've still got a lot to learn. I live off mom's packages and lots of ramen and spagetti o's." She headed for the kitchen which admittedly was quite visible from the living as it wasn't exactly separated.

"Would you like some juice or something," she said opening the fridge and looking for something to drink, "I've got some of mom's chocolate cake too."

She pulled out a cup for herself, waiting for Holi's answer before pouring the juice. "You know even if we have to be here you can still look and see if there is a culinary course offered as a community college or even Destiny City university. No need to just settle. We're the ones who have to make our own dreams come true. That's what mom always says."

Eliza sighed, "and as for going out. It's well, its exciting to meet other knight and senshi, but some of them really hate us and my weapon is useless. I keep having to be saved even when I am trying to help someone else. I dont like it, but it gets better, or so I am told."

"The whole business is confusing, but I don't mind and I've got Camelot, trying to help me out."

"Camelot? I haven't met anyone by that name."She confessed. "I met one of those dark Senshi though, he was... he was creepy." She admitted.Did other senshi, not dark moon ones, also hate them? Had he been right?

"I don't understand the weapons either. I mean... mine's scarf...yours was what.. a poppy?" She refrained from making a joke about buying them for a dollar at the supermarket, though in truth she bought one of the little fake flowers every time she saw one. She'd collected them for a while, but it had been a short phase.

"I know there's community options but I kinda had this idea of going to someplace really famous and I'm not sure if it'll play out that way. Then again, I'd have had to try really hard for scholarships. There's no way my father could pay for it all. I'm not giving up on my dreams I'm just... frustrated. I feel so useless I don't know why any of this even happened. If we're supposed to help, why are we so weak?"
PostPosted: Wed Nov 14, 2012 9:32 am

"Camelot is actually a knight. He knows a lot," she said excitedly nearly spilling the juice as she came back into the living room, putting the cups on the black coffee table. "He's got a giant shield and when I fought the fought that big old cat youma, it was great. We were great."

Eliza obviously thought highly of Camelot, being very excited, "I met some dark senshi too. Like I said they don't really care for us. One punched me and hit me with the crazy loud blast. Another just wanted to talk, lucky I guess because he felt stronger than me. A lot stronger."

She groaned when her weapon was mentioned, her hand coming up and dragging down her face. She plopped down on the couch once more, "ugh, its a cloth rose. I can't really use it to help me much, but you've got to work around that. It makes me want to scream sometimes. I mean magic is real and I got a cloth rose, but it will get better."

Eliza looked to Holi with bright eyes, "maybe you'll be able to go someday. This war can't last forever. Don't be frustrated. I'm sure it will happen somehow."

Eliza sighed looking up at the ceiling thinking it over, not really sure how to answer. "I don't really know. I mean I feel stronger really, but I end up on my butt a lot, or getting tossed about or chased. I think maybe it just takes a while to find your footing. I kind of wish I could at least keep my belt after I change into the fancy outfit. I can fight with that!"

"I've been trying to learn scarf fighting from the internet, but that's like trying to learn karate by waxing the car." Holi waved a hand in frustration. "Hey, does Camelot fight? Or does he just use the shield? Can he teach us? I can't keep powering up and waiting for something to attack me... Remarque was scary enough. We can't defend anyone with a scarf and a rose."

She tapped her chin thoughtfully and sighed. "I think I need to look into it, learning to fight.I mean what if the glamor fails, what if something follows me home... or to school. I still live with my family!"

Eliza gave a small giggle her eyes dancing with amusement. "I didn't even know there was a such thing as scarf fighting, but I guess it makes sense. It imagine you can use many things as a weapon." She paused for a second thinking before nodding to Holi, "maybe then our weapons are so useless as we think. There is only one way to find out though."

"I've seen Camelot go up and against a youma, but not really another person. I can't imagine it is very similar, but he killed the youma all the same. All I did was distract it. He's trying to teach me, but there is more to learn that I thought. I haven't even been to Pharos yet! I'm sure he can help us both. I will ask him next time I see him okay?"

She gave a slightly confused looked about the remark about Remarque. She'd met him to and while he'd put her on egde at first being stronger that she was, he hadn't been particularly scary. "Remarque ... he's not scary. What did he do that was scary. When I met him all we did was talk. I don't think he even hates knights like the rest."

Pharos hadn't really thought about the glamour failing on them, she didn't really think it was possible. "I don't think it works that way. I mean if it were possible don't you think more people would be worried about it. Most of the other's I've met don't seem worried at all. I think we will be fine. I would say just to make sure your not becoming a knight around where you live and be careful no one sees you right?"

"Well...I have to admit I have a bit less faith in this whole 'magic' thing than some of the others." She felt like... that was a fair comparison. "I feel like Scully to a fleet of Mulders."

"Remarque is totally scary." She added with a slight frown. "He talks nice, but it's what he says and the way he says it. He's charismatic but he's evil, and that's worse than if he were just a thug."

"I guess it a bit easier for me to except since I always believed in magic. Most people I know, don't, but I was right. It's not the sort of magic I imagined, sure, but it's magic none the less." She looked to Holi and gave a bright smile, "it's weird, yes definitely x files weird, but you just have to accept you'll be fine. If you are worried about bringing baddies home you can always come here until you feel good to leave. I live alone, aside from these three, and I'm a page like you, so I can defend myself."

Eliza hardly thought of the problems that could possible cause if someone really did follow Holi. She just really hoped and thought it really wouldn't be a problem. Eliza had far more faith in magic and more hope for it, than was probably totally healthy for someone her age.

Eliza frowned about the comment about Remarque, not really sure how to feel, but settled for, "maybe we shouldn't talk about him or them." Eliza was naive and didn't want to think Remarque was really evil.

"...Fine." She sighed glancing away because she didn't want to argue with Pharos. Fine... we won't talk about the smoking man leaving his butts in our case files. she thought, brushing absently at a strand or two of hair.

"I need to learn how to fight. It's one thing to... to flap around in basic self defense stuff, but these aren't muggers or that kind of creep, these are... they're people engaged in war.

And Remarque was not on their side.

"I don't know. I have to do something. I mean... hell I've been seeing shrinks trying to get the hell over what happened out there, but I can't spend the rest of my life living in fear."
