It was difficult for Virtus to get his patrol rolling tonight.
He was powered up, sitting in a ark corner, but he was not sure he had it in him to go out there and drain any energy. He knew he had to, he was told he had to. He remembered that he had promised to do everything he could to be the best Senshi he could. The best senshi possible.
But that meant hurting people.
He was the Senshi of Kindness, with magic powers only to heal. He could not use the magic to hurt anyone, and he did not want to. He had been training to learn how to fight and then he actually applied it to a battle that he managed to win. But it had resulted in a lot of blood, and this terrible feeling of guilt that he could not bear.
It was not in him. No matter how he justified it, no matter what he did to tell himself he was doing the right thing, he couldn't get the image of punching that senshi out of his mind. All the blood on his hand... it had been warm and foreign. And that was just from punching someone in the face.
What would happen if he had to really hurt someone? If he had to kill them?
All he wanted to do was heal. Help. Support. Couldn't he just do that? Sitting in the shadows, he knew he couldn't. Not alone. He needed to do his quota, like he promised. Though he might not have wanted to do the work, it still needed to get done. And there was his conundrum. Because he always did what he was told.

Mimi had a hard time 'seizing the day' for a very long time. Before she became part of the DMC, she had worked day in and day out without a real cause. Even when she first became 'Mimistrobell' she was slightly confused and not really sure of what she should do or if she was good enough to do it. But thanks to help and encouragment from the DMC as well as other Chaos members, Mimi was pumped.
The early hours of the night had been full of achievement for Mimi. She had gone through different mirrors all over town and had collected a fair amount of energy from bums. "I can't believe this city has so many homeless people... I guess it's good for the DMC since I don't have to take from moving targets... but I feel kind of bad for them."
She paused as she approached an area; Mimi sensed another DMC member around. The area wasn't normal for people to hang out in and bums were usually in other spots. Mimi called out before she went to see whom was there. "Hello? Who's there?"
Mimi could make out a faint shape in the dark. She squinted her eyes to see if she could tell who it was... The outfit look familiar... "V-virtus? Is that you?" She slowly walked up to him and squatted down, not wanting to get herself dirty. "Are you okay?"

Virtus looked up when he heard someone say his name, realizing he had not been paying enough attention and had not sensed anyone approaching like he was supposed to. He was glad, though, that this was someone on his side of the fence, so he did not have to worry about anything at all.
Well, as far as he knew, and had experienced so far.
He had not yet run into a Dark Mirror Senshi who was not on the same page, so to speak, though he had met regular senshi who did not seem to know what they were about. That kind of disorder, though, was not for this Court. He smiled, then, when he saw Mimistrobell and tried to pick himself up. He looked like a little puppy.
"I'm okay, thank you for asking," he said, almost sounding as peppy as normal. It was easier not to dwell on personal problems when he had someone else there. "How are you doing? I'm sorry if I worried you, I was just thinking and my legs got tired, so I sat down."

There was something that faultered in Virtus's voice, but since he brushed it off, Mimi thought it was better that she did too. Instead of asking if he wanted to get up, she sat there next to him, her back against the wall. She'd assume the clothing didn't get dirty easily since she never really could stick it in the wash...
"I'm glad you're doing well! I haven't seen you since the battle!"
"And I'm doing wonderful!" It was true. Mimi had her fair share of loses and wins, but what she enjoyed most was that she was learning. Whether it be ways of attacking or defending physically or just general things about the DMC, the information just fueled her drive and passion. "I've been gaining more physical strength as well as more lessons as a DMC! I feel like I can defend myself now!"
"You can probably kick butt now too, huh?" Mimi could tell that Virtus was now a higher rank than her, but she didn't mind. Until she became more physically capable, the 'basic' title seemed to fit her.

Virtus looked at her as she sat down with him and smiled, feeling happier just by having some company with him. And he appreciated her joining him on the floor, though he knew it was not the nicest place to sit.
Some strange stuff happened in these alleys.
Hearing that she was doing well, though, definitely lifted his spirits. The battle had been such a big wreck and as hectic as it was, it was not the best place to get to know someone. No one was in their proper moods or mind frames, there was something bigger than them all going on.
"I'm very glad to hear that! Learning how to fight is really important. I've been trying to do the same thing too, but I don't think... I mean. I did win my first fight recently but..." His smile drooped a bit again, though the action was strange for his muscles. "I don't like hurting people, I really don't... I feel like I'm doing something wrong, or that I'm a bad senshi because..."
He trailed off, pouting at the floor.

Virtus smiling made Mimi think that all he needed was some company. She didn't mind it herself, having spent a lot of time running around by herself, with or without mirrors and gathering energy, as well as training and finding. Taking a break felt nice.
"Congrats on winning a battle!" Mimi was excited for Virtus, but when she looked over at him, he looked more sad than she expected. "Well, you are the Senshi of Kindess, so I'm not surprised you're not too pleased with winning a battle..."
Mimi patted him on the back. "Don't feel bad. I think I had a hard time at first too. I was always taught to be polite and having to, well, hurt people seemed odd at first. I swear still people still think I'm weird for curtsying people that I end up hurting." She let out a small laugh, trying to lighten the mood.
"It took me a realize what I was fighting for... Maybe you need a reason to fight?" She wasn't sure of whom Virtus was besides the Senshi she met a few times, but the idea pushed her forward. "I was confused until I realized I wanted to fight for Princess Ares... Maybe if you found your reason for fighting it wouldn't be as hard?"
The idea felt like a long shot, but Mimi didn't like seeing her friend sad. Mimi hoped that, at least by the end of this talk, Virtus would feel a little bit better.

That was the issue. He was a kind guy, always had been. He could not help himself, it was just his deepest nature. And to be awakened as the senshi of kindness, regardless of the fact that he was chaos aligned, seemed all too fitting.
But now it was in conflict.
Everyone called him a bad guy. A monster. He was a fighter, and he was supposed to hurt people if they tried to stop him. But that was just such a big jump for him. He had not fought at all, in his whole life, before awakening. He even had a scar on his face from a terrible beating he had taken. And not fought back in.
"I know why we have to fight, and I really, really do believe in the Dark Mirror Court and everything we're trying to do. I just don't feel like I'm cut out for it... I don't think I'm built right. But then, why do I have these powers then? I just... I want to find a way to contribute, to make things better, without having to hurt anyone..."

Mimi reached over and gave Virtus a hug. When words failed, a sign of comfort always seemed like the next best thing. She was pretty sure a lot of people questioned how or why they got into the mess, but everyone would eventually find their place. "I had felt like that before joining the DMC... I was a piece of a puzzle my parents wanted me to be a part of, but I wasn't the right piece, yah know?"
"I don't really think you have to fight though," Mimi reassured him with a smile. "A lot of the time, I don't even run into other powered people. Those times I just spend a lot of time gathering energy from the homeless. Even then I'd feel bad, but it's not like we're hurting them, yah know?"
She was surprised when Virtus was doubting how much he was contributing. The battle between Order and Chaos and they had come out on top... Neither of them had fought, but Virtus had helped the wounded. "Have you forgotten the battle already? Neither of us fought, but you were the one that helped tend to the hurt!"
"You might think that's isn't a big contribution, but I do!" Mimi smiled brightly. "There's so many of us willing to hurt or even kill sometimes, to help our cause. You're different in a good way! You work towards helping our cause through helping the fighters!"

Virtus was a very hug friendly guy, so when she gave him one he wholeheartedly returned it, though his hug was less to comfort her and more to thank her for offering her comfort to him. One could say a lot with a hug!
Or he liked to think so.
"I do that too, and I think I am good at it. I do my quota, and I do my very best to get the energy. But when senshi and knights do show up... I am not sure about what to do any more. I tried talking to them, but got beaten up. I tried fighting without talking, and I beat someone else up. Either way, I felt terrible about it."
He sighed, then tried to smile. He liked smiling his way through the things that upset him the most.
"But do you think our queen would want me to just heal? And what would I do when I run into the white moon? I try to talk to them but so far none of them wanted to join our side." Of course, he never pressured them to so his sales pitch was probably a little feeble. And he knew it was not fair to ask her all these things, but his brain just spilled open sometimes.

Mimi could sympathize with Virtus getting beat up, but Mimi knew she enjoyed beating up someone back. It was understandable bad though, but Mimi didn't feel like that should stop Virtus for being who he was. She would, however, offer her help!
She took out the compact mirror that the DMC could use to contact each other and brought it up to eye level between her and Virtus. "Well, if anything, I'll be glad to help you! I'm not the best fighter, but I'll get there." She flipped open the contact and tried to contact Virtus's compact. "See! I'll pop up when you need me so you don't have to beat up people!"
"It's not much, but something, yah know!" Mimi was still smiling, pleased with her own idea. "Healing is a wonderful way to help! Who else would help us get better if any of us got hurt?"
Mimi paused before speaking again. "I think you're the only one that can heal on our side, right? That makes you super special to our cause!"

Virtus looked at his compact and smiled, nodding his head eagerly. That made sense to him! He was glad to have a friend, though of course he had quite a few. But he really needed one in that moment and now he had someone to talk to directly he was feeling much better.
Everything would work out! He just had to try harder!
"If you do ever need to get healed, you can always count on me. I mean if that's going to be my one thing I'll be really good at, then I want to share it with as many people as I can! Though I do hope you don't get hurt, and you don't need me for that. Because... well. You're nice and I don't like to see anyone hurt!"
He smiled and nodded his head a few times, his mood much improved. He was really easy to cheer up, but regardless of that he deeply appreciated it. It was very nice of her to take the time, anyway. He hadn't asked her to, but she had sat with him and made him feel better.

When Mimi saw Virtus smile, she knew she succeed in at least picking up his mood a little bit. She couldn't help but smile with him. "Of course! I know I can depend on you, even during that big battle!"
She laughed when he didn't want her to get hurt. "That's totally understandable, but there are going to be pains here and there, but eventually, once I get stronger, it should be less of a problem right? I promise that if I get hurt, either I'd help myself, or you'd not see me hurt." Mimi laughed.
"Just make sure you don't over-do yourself, yah know?" Every attack they had held limits. Mimi didn't know what they were for Virtus, but she'd rather not see him get hurt, even if it was to help someone else.
Mimi stood up and offered a hand up for Virtus. "Ready to get out of the dark now?" she asked him with a smile. "I mean, I like hiding in the dark too, but only if it meant that I'm sneaking up on someone."Lithia_Brandon (( I think we can end this soon? Not sure where to go from here XDD ))

The Super Senshi nodded his head and chuckled. It would be nice to get off the cold ground and maybe go home, unwind, think over everything properly.
He could make this all work. She had instilled some confidence in him, which he had been missing before. He had let himself get wrapped up in all the negative thoughts, but that was just not his style. He needed to stay positive.
It was so much easier, and felt so much nicer.
"Thank you so much for your help," he said, once he was up and standing under a street light. He opened his arms for a hug, his equivalent of a parting hand shake. Because who did not like hugs? Beyond... the people that did not like them, but he always offered, either way.
"I'm going to go home now, I think, but I feel much better! You are a very good friend and person and I'm going to make up for this I promise!" He smiled brightly, thinking about all the nice things he could do to surprise her.

"You're very welcome. You don't have to make up for anything, Virtus." Mimi smiled in response to him. "You're a friend and you needed someone to dig you out of a hole, so I did! It's what friends are for, right?"
"Just remember, if you ever need me, contact me through my contact!" She knew that even if she wasn't much help, she could at least support Virtus. Of course, they could also support each other. If someone Chaos aligned needed help, she'd always be there. Mimi would be there even quicker for others of the Dark Mirror Court.
Mimi thought of going home herself, but she knew that she still had a bit of time to gather a little more energy. "Have a safe journey home! I think I'm going to wander around a little bit to see if I can gather just a bit more energy for the night. I missed out a few days earlier this week," she said, ending with a half-laugh.
It didn't take long for Mimi to disappear into a mirror, waving good bye to Virus.
