WELCOME TO THE BAKING CLUB!

After a bit of a hiatus, Xiu and Junko had decided that it was high time for the baking club to get up and running. The Home Eek room had set up in preparation for Spirit Week, a variety of different ingredients laid out at each of the cooking units' counters. Candied brain bits, chocolate-covered bugs, fresh booberries--the ghouls had gone to great lengths to ensure that there would be a vast range of choices for those who decided to come in and take part in their fun little "competition".

The first thing those who entered would notice would be a stack of neatly folded aprons sitting on a chair. Beside that, in another chair, sat Xiu, who had the clipboard with the sign-up sheet perched in her lap. And beside her...

...Was the fire extinguisher, of course. You could never be too careful.

GAME: MAKE YOUR OWN CUPCAKE!

Don't know how to bake? Well uh...time to learn! Junko and Xiu have set out a variety of ingredients out on all the counters, and your job is to make a cupcake to wow them with!

There will be 1-2 winners daily depending on who has the highest score by the end of each day (and you can try once everyday if you'd like)! They can pick any pet (with the exception of the insanity tart eon) from the prize pool! At the end of the event, everyone will be entered for a chance to win this guy in a raffle:



Now for the game:

Everyone starts with 50 points.

STEP ONE: Step one is make the base of the cupcake! Vanilla? Chocolate? It's up to you! The ghouls have provided each unit with a very basic recipe to work off of for the baking newbies! Just mix up your ingredients and pop it into the oven!

Roll 1 100-dice.
1-19: ...They're still wet. Like, really wet. Well, if you like your cupcakes super undercooked... -10 points
20-39: When you pull it out of the oven, you discover that your cupcakes are a little undercooked. Nothing's wrong with a little gooey though, right? -5 points
40-59: Fluffy, moist--you've created a perfect base for your cupcake! +10 points
60-79: Your cupcakes turned out a little rubbery, but they're not too bad! Definitely still edible (and very tasty). +5 points
80-100: Your cupcakes are on fire. By the time Xiu puts them out, they're pitch black but...that's okay...right? -20 points

STEP TWO: Now comes the icing! Just mix together the ingredients provided...but make sure to measure them correctly!

Roll 1 4-dice.
1: You didn't add enough liquid! Your icing is like cement! -5 points
2: Turned out pretty well, good job! +5 points
3: Your icing turned out more like a glaze. -10 points
4: Perfect! Did you add a little food coloring or flavour extract to make it stand out? In either case, the ghouls love it! +10

STEP THREE: Time to decorate! Go wild with this!

Roll 1 20-dice.
Just add up what you roll with what you have left of your points! The higher the roll, the more creative/neater/etc you were with your decorating!

Ingredients, check. Apron, check. Fire extinguisher...

Yup. Everything was set up and ready for both students and guest students alike to come by and participate. Although the baku had prepared the sign-up sheet, she certainly didn't expect everyone who passed by to sign up. For many students, this would just be a time to goof off and have fun, and Xiu certainly didn't have any qualms about that.

So long as, you know, they didn't make too much of a mess.

...Or burn the room down.

...Oooor the school.

Xiu was suddenly a lot more nervous than she had been a few minutes ago.

[OOC:Not sure if this is open but I thought id try. Sorry if I mess up though, theres no one else to go by cause im first so Im not sure ill do it right]


Miyako, feeling a bit uncomfterble in the crouded gym, decided to follow her nose to a different food source. She found herself at some sort of club booth. But she smelled sweets. Miyako loved sweets. Reading the rules and trying to figure out what to do she smiled cheerfuly. Makeing cupcakes? Sure she could try that. Makeing sweets was fun. It would be even more fun if she could eat her creation when she was done. She wasn't sure if she could but she would try to make one anyway.


Hmm Choosing a base for the cupcake? She decided she would choose red velvet. Hey it was possible.. it was a cake after all. Miyako was a bit of an odd ball and didn't really like the normal chocolate or vanilla cakes. Now she tried to see if she could successfully make it.

Well she cooked them too much and now they were burnt. But that didn't stop Miyako. As long as they were solid and not a mushy mess she was doing good, right?

So now she had to put the frosting on it. Of course she chose strawberry frosting.

Apparently she did a far better job frosting them then she did actually cooking them. Well that was good right? If the cupcake looked good on the outside it wouldn't matter how it tasted, right..?

So now she had to decorate it.
She decorated it with some pretty sky blue star candies.

Petro had never been so glad to see the Baking Club having some activity. He gave the baku a wave, "Can't stay long, but 'm always willing for something like this," he grinned with a flash of teeth. He opted for the vanilla, believing that unless the chocolate batter provided was of the dark kind, he'd find it too sweet to his liking. Unfortunately, while he could rush his own actions, he couldn't rush the oven. Or the cake for that matter.

Tro says icing is not necessary. He'll eat it as is! Then again, he isn't entirely sure how to make icing and somehow ended up with a glaze. The pleased look on his face suggested that the horse boil did not think this was a bad thing.

As far as decorations went, Tro believed simplicity was best. Besides, his glaze made decorating difficult as is. Still, the boil looked immensely proud with himself as he showed his finished creation to Xiu, "'S it edible? Ain't gonna give anyone food poisoning, yeah?"

Xiu had been watching the first two bakers rather anxiously this whole time. She had had to ensure that the fire was put out for the first baker's creation (and it came out looking extra crispy) while Petro's...

She jumped a little when the boil came up to talk to her, and after eying his cupcakes, she squared her shoulders, dipped her pinky into the wet, glaze and batter creation, and carefully licked her finger. It tasted as she had expected, but she figured that she should try it before making any judgments.

"It's...not bad, Petro! Uh, you might want to keep it in the oven a little longer next time though...?" She looked a little sheepish as she eyed his creation, but the optimistic smile hadn't left her face.

The tikbalang lit up like a Jack-o-Lantern with a new candle when Xiu sampled one of his cupcakes and did not dissipate as a result. He nodded, listening intently to the ghoul's suggestions on his next attempt, "Wouldn't've been this good'v y' and the club didn't provide the batter," he admitted sheepishly. "But 'm gonna keep trying! 'S why 'm interested in the baking club."

The ghoul beamed up at the boil in approval, her tail waving behind her. "Yes, it's important to keep trying! Honestly Petro, I think you'll be one of the top bakers in this club with a little time and practice." He definitely had the attitude to succeed, that was for sure! And she was sure that his cupcakes would have turned out wonderfully had they been given more time to cook.

"You're still in, then?" She asked with a smile, motioning towards the clipboard in her arms, "Since Junko and I had put this club on a bit of a hiatus, I need to go around and see if everyone is interested again."

As Nessa was wondering around the gym she smelled the most delicious smell coming from a near by room as she walked in she saw some others making cupcakes.
She looks at the aprons sitting on a chair and see's a sign-up sheet, she quickly puts her name down and grabs a apron and crosses the room.

She looks at the ingredients and decides that she'll make a choc. cupcake. She quickly tosses all the stuff in a mixing bowl, spoons it into the cupcake and tosses it in the oven.

By the time Nessa turns around She sees a huge plum of smoke and fire extinguisher spray all over.
She looks at the teacher " haha i like them burnt" she says in a small whisper voice.

she reaches for the icing mixture and works as fast as she can, since she's now embarrassed.

Her icing comes out great just the way she likes it, not to think or sweet. she slops it on her cupcake and tries to cover as much of the black blob as she can. she grabs some sprinkles and a few gummy bears and tosses them on top.

She looks back at the teacher and " Ss- sorry about the fire."
