Ofelia felt sort of pumped up when it came to training, seeing as her last two spars went pretty well (ignoring the fact she injured Jason something nice), and as a Sun she felt like it was well within her need to go out and punch more people. There was a long list she could call on, maybe a few of them would enjoy a spar, but there was one person in particular she felt the need to show her skills too.Quote: Text to Melvin up for a spar come to the outdoor training grounds Melvin had done a lot for her, more than Ofelia wanted to admit without getting too touchy on the issue, and she felt that punching him in the face was a good way to show she was thankful. After all, wasn't a Sun supposed to hit things? Ofelia seemed to think so, and after she sent the text she scuttled herself right on outside.
It was nice, or as nice as it would and could be for Deus, and the teen quickly shed her jacket and her shoes. Her feet were wrapped in bandages, as it was her newer idea of fighting barefoot for traction purposes, and she was kicking at a dummy. She'd wait for a while to see if he wanted to show up, and if not she'd just wail on some inanimate objects until she got hungry.
Win/win.

Text to Ofelia Melvin Wrote: Putting Minipets back in tanks. See you in 20. Melvin was all for spars. He valued protection, but he knew he had to get better aim and was most comfortable relying on himself. These were delicate times, and he was curious as to how powerful Ofelia was as a Sun when she seemed so fragile and unsure as a person.
Walking to the grounds, he waved when he saw the girl and paused when she was all but karate kicking a dummy barefoot. It felt like she would be more at least in a temple than on a island. Moving to a bench he favored, he took off his sweater and jacket and adjusted the navy polo he was wearing before heading over. "Didn't expect you'd be up for a fight this soon after getting out of the infirmary." He told her.

Ofelia smirked at the response, Melvin seemed to like the twenty minutes as his time set, but none the less she simply closed her phone and tossed it back with the rest of her items. She was kicking up a good sweat by the time Melvin arrived and the redhead paused with her leg mid-swing. Her balance was easily kept, and she lowered it down to where her knee was bent and she was standing on one foot.
"Ah feel stagnant if Ah stay inactive too long. Ah'm a Sunny, yanno." She turned on her hip and swung out a kick, landing it hard and strong against the dummy's head. For a moment or two she rested her foot there before finally leaning in to stretch against her raised leg. "Thanks fer comin' out. Ah f'gur'd it was 'bout time fer ya ta meet Rue anyway." Ofelia said and lowered her leg down. she repeated the kick-rest-stretch with the other, and soon she was down to just limbering up her arms.
The charm bracelet on her wrist seemed to sparkle in the light, though with the sun on them it was more than easy enough to spot how a few of the charms looked missing and the rest were all bent out of shape.

She was especially limber at 19, but he guessed she must have done more women-friendly exercises like yoga and the like. Melvin did not stretch, simply reaching back behind his ear to retrieve the red pen that he kept there. His weapon was range, he was a Lifer, and doing karate kicks was beyond him and would result in him either falling over or getting a cramp. Hardly impressive.
"I've been wondering what type of weapon you have." Something large and otherwise ridiculously deadly probably.
He summoned Saliva, changing the red pen to a red, round, gun with a transparent, glowing compartment on it's underside. It was small compared to most weapons. "This is Saliva." It was hunter etiquette he found to introduce weapons as if they were actual people that mattered.
You're a real d**k. I do more damage than you do - oh wait, that is WHEN you manage to aim me right.

Ofelia grinned and bowed her head, properly greeting in return. "S'nice ta meetcha Salvia, Ah look forward ta playin' wit'cha taday. Yer pretty cool lookin'." She said, sincere and honest. The sun teen had nothing against other people or their weapons and since meeting quite a few of them in golem forms she knew they all had personalities of their own and therefore commanded respect.
That was everyone else, of course. Rue, on the other hand. . .
A flick of Ofelia's wrist sent the weapon out in a flash of light. It quickly faded to reveal her weapon's true form, a set of bladed brass knuckles, and the teen flexed her fingers inside the hold of her partner. "This is Rue, an' she says - " Ofelia stopped mid-speech and flinched, her hand going to the side of her head.
Rue was screaming again, loudly screaming. Every time her weapon was summoned after the accident, every single time, there were no words. Only screams, endless screams, and once dismissed nothing but cruel and cold silence. Ofelia finally stopped wincing as she forced aside the noise and volume in her head, and she grinned weakly. "Shall we toss ta see who goes first?"

Melvin looked at her. "You're ...actually talking to her?" Really? She was a weapon. A thing. A monster in a tool. Saliva of course was huffing at him and had thus decided she was going to keep Melvin up that night just for that. He should have learned by now, but he'd pay for it later. Lessons would be learned.
Rue on the other hand was not massively large, however he looked as intimidating as hell. Anything with sharp blades did, and every time he saw something as damaging as a Sun weapon, he had to remind himself that he had a shield. He just....now had to worry about how far Sun's could go with their charges considering recent events.
Ofelia wincing when she introduced her own weapon probably meant she said something bad or not appropriate. "Huh. Seems Rue causes problems." He pointed out, before turning and heading to take a nice distance from the Sun.
"No need. Ladies first." He told her, and gestured for her to start.

While Ofelia normally would have told him that chivalry was not needed in a spar, he out to protect himself, Rue's screams had the teen barreling forward. It only took her a few steps with bare feet, no need to worry about traction while she wasn't wearing shoes, and she raised her hands to attack.
Instead of pounding down against him like she would a normal opponent, Ofelia decided to just graze his shield. Any amount of FEAR, even a tiny bit, stopped Rue's voice just for that brief moment so if she could fill up on it. . . . then she'd do it.
Of course her opponent was ranged, and Ofelia after attacking wouldn't have much time to get out of the way.

His major disadvantage at times was close-range combat. He stood in the back, at a distance, and while his aim was still improving, he was safe from afar. Their weapons couldn't reach him, but sparring always took that out of the equation. Ofelia wasted no time coming close, slashing Wolverine claws at her and making him step back to get back some needed space.
He aimed, but she moved quickly to dodge and it sailed past them. "Small weapon than I expected." He told her, backing up as quickly as he could.HP: 37/40 Damage: Missed Charge: 0/3

Rue was still screaming, still urging Ofelia onward, and the redhead didn't even comprehend that Melvin was talking to her. It wasn't unusual, during most spars or battles she didn't speak while attacking, and an almost feral look came into her eyes as she prepped herself for his counterattack. At the last minute it missed, either from his aim or her sudden movement to avoid, and the space between them grew small once more.
A quick swipe of her weapon had Ofelia getting more FEAR, charging Rue stronger, and she jumped backward and placed herself into a defensive position. Let him take a shot at her, she'd use that time to close the gap again. Ofelia wasn't afraid of getting hurt, a Sun's body was their weapon and shield all at once, and if she would get stabbed to remove a sword, so to speak, then she'd let herself be stabbed.

He jumped back, eyes wide as she slashed at him. Yup. Wolverine moves here. It didn't have that heavy momentum like the other Sun weapons or the blinding explosions of Jerry's weapon, but was fast and sharp nonetheless.
Melvin moved back, still trying to gain that space she was rapidly destroying, and fired again. The green egg glowed as it hit it's mark, splattering and releasing smoking, green acid. It was mild on the shield and wouldn't damage her. "I think Marvel wants it's weapon back." He called to her, seeing if she'd say anything back.

Ofelia did seem to hestiate at Melvin's taunt, perhaps like she understood he was saying, but no chuckle came. Instead she proceeded to do a false swipe, and then a shallow one, and soon Rue's runes were lit up bright red.
Her weapon had a full charge now, the screaming was starting to turn to her usual singing and moans of pleasure, and Ofelia's eye twitched as she waited. Whatever Melvin's weapon shot out it sizzled on her shield, she didn't like it, and so she planned on avoiding it in the future.
With that all in mind the redhead stayed silent as she kept close to her opponent, not really planning on giving him space to properly shoot her. All she needed again was to endure one hit and then strike back, hard.

Rown Melvin is super bad with aim. The lack of space was making it hard to aim. While you would think being point blank would be a great advantage, he couldn't have room to fire properly and had to spend most of his time trying to dodge out of the way. So far he was doing rather well despite getting his shield nicked here and there, but he knew she was going to wear him down. He needed a better shot, but turning tail and running would leave his back wide open and Ofelia was fast. It made him feel older than he was.
Just get enough space to shoot her face! You're killing me here, Melvin!
I'm TRYING! She does have two fistfuls of blades here. He huffed back at his weapon before trying to fire with no success. HP: 31/40 Damage: Missed Charge: 1/3

When Melvin missed the teen again a look of delight spread over her face, her eye widening almost to full size open, and she lunged at her opponent with every intent to take him down. Rue's blades were practically glowing with the bright pulsing runes that covered her, and as the pair drew close the teen pulled her hand back to attack. . . .
. . . and stopped within inches of Melvin's face. Her arm twitched, like she was unsure of what was going to happen, and the redhead jumped backward and punched her fist into the ground. It erupted there instead, the charge fully being absorbed by the earth, and as soon as it was over the teen stood back up and placed herself once more into an offensive position.
She still had not said an entire word at all.

He kept moving, turning right, moving left, not at all the flexible, nimble type. As of now, all he could do was avoid her as best he could and fire. He tried again, aiming and managed to nick a arm, but it wasn't direct. What he needed now was a clean shot.

He made the mistake of not getting enough distance between them, at least that's what Ofelia's brain was telling her as her weapon continued to scream, and the teen took a deep breath and lunged at her opponent. His weapon got a shot off on her, it sizzled faintly against the strength of her shield, and there was no hesitation as she drew closer to Melvin.
It was a combination of moves with her legs and her fists that she used to attack, dishing out a heavy blow much stronger than any of her others combined. It looked like after releasing her charge Ofelia was getting bolder.
