After a few days the sleeping came easier. Bix finally felt rested after about a business week and since he hadn't yet been sent on any immediate missions or tasks (he was hoping they didn't notice yet that he was living) he'd decided to use his pent up energy to straighten his room.

All of his things got unpacked, he'd powered through it this time around. His shelves were re-organized, his clothing back in drawers and uniforms back hanging in the closet. He'd even gone ahead and cleaned the bathroom.

The project of finishing the backboard 'couch' was also quickly accomplished and Bix now looked to have sort of a real living room. He scrounged up a few shoddy lamps out of a supply closet and while they weren't pretty, they were effective enough.

He was now in the kitchen, leaning on counter with his cellphone out. He was scrolling some food blogs looking for anything that he could make for dinner. He had a few ingredients he'd stolen out of the dorms kitchens but not much to shake a stick at. Generally Ceres would come around soon, they'd get some food together and hang out, read or talk or anything to stay awake until they couldn't be upright any longer. He was trying to be good, cook a meal for the two of them for once.

Maybe the idea of 'the talk' bounced around in his head a bit. He was nervous, stupidly so, but didn't want to be a derp if he finally managed to initiate it.

A few days later Ceres had finally found herself starting to sleep again, in small and irregular shifts, but sleep was sleep. She still had dark spots under her eyes, but at least they no longer were as puffy and defined. Instead of looking like they could hold minivans, maybe they could hold hot wheels now.

On her mind was.... quite a few things. First of all, she had wondered why the hunters had changed her coats design... and given her such a horribly long scarf. Were they paying her back for using it as a bandage once? Maybe the extra room was to rip off pieces here and there when she needed them. Secondly... well. Of course she was trying not to think about what happened just a week prior. Last, and probably the thing that she had been thinking on the most, was Bix. They both had.... under some mutual need for comfort and touch, had come together and done just that. She had kissed him under the influence of whatever was in that world, and sense then he seemed ok with continuing to be around her. She guessed that was a good sign. They had pretty much leapt right in to the dating stages, but not even had the formal 'talk' yet.

As that thought bounced around in her head, she found herself climbing stairs on a familiar path, probably aided by her current thoughts. It was becoming second nature really, finding herself wandering only to stumble across the room when she was right before it.

More so recently than not, like so many others he really was becoming her rock. She could only hope he felt the same with her. She really did need to wander out and talk with everyone else, but she was content now for mostly keeping to herself. Everyone seemed to know they were back anyways, the twitter made sure of that.

She did not even bother to knock more than once to announce her presence, turning the knob and allowing herself inside before clicking the door behind her. The first thing that caught her attention though... was the smell of something cooking? "Please tell me your cooking food and not a minipet or something." She remembered that time in the life labs, poor creatures.

She stumbled over her scarf as she approached. Damn thing!

Bix had a piece of meat out but the smell was really only the oven warming up. He hadn't thought about things like cleaning the oven yet. He hadn't used it and didn't even think to see if the previous owner of the room had gunked it up. The slight burning smell seemed to be nothing more than some slop burning away as the oven heated up.

"Well Ofie gave me some groceries. She'd stocked up. She tried to give me everything but I think it was some sort of guilt thing since she fought against me as a monster apparently..." He glanced over his shoulder at Ceres in her new coat. Bix snickered when she almost tripped on the scarf. It happened more than it should, really. Since he was in his own room, his coat was on the couch and he was wearing some slightly too small high school gym shirt that was so faded you couldn't tell where he actually went to school anymore. He just wouldn't get rid of the thing.

"So I have this steak and some spices and a some other stuff." Indeed it was a random mix of cans. "I thought I'd make an attempt at cooking.I've made a steak before so that's a pretty safe bet. How do you feel about dijon mustard?"

Bix liked to ramble because with his current thinking about their relationship status, he was unsure what he was supposed to do. Was he supposed to go and kiss her, some sort of 'honey I'm home' moment? Or.. was that weird?

She fought the urge to stick her tongue out at him at the original snickering, but in the end did it anyways. Childish act of rebellion aside, she soon had the scarf shrugged off her shoulders and placed it oh his 'project' of a couch, next to his own coat. Really pathetically, she could play jumprope with the thing if she really wanted to.

Taking off her coat a second later, she folded it messily before laying it on top of the scarf. Really wearing the coat around deus was a formality... but she did not really need to wear the thing while in Bix's room.

"Dont make me strangle it with you next time... i think its long enough to turn someone into a mummy if i felt particularly inclined to. " She could hide the body as well as strangle it then, she mused to herself as a familiar spark of mischief gleamed. A spark that really had not been as bright after the incident, showed in her eyes. It was a sign to herself as well that she was...indeed...getting better.

Moving towards him, she wrapped a arm around his back and stuck her hand in his pant pocket on the other side of him. Even if Bix was always awkward about initiating touch, or actions, at times... She sure as hell was not. She had been spending almost all of her time with him recently, so being close made her feel comfortable. "Mustard as a whole is okay as long as it doesnt taste ONLY of mustard. Then i would think you added too much.... at least she has good taste." Ceres tacked on last minute, talking more about Ofie and how she stocked his fridge with meat even.

"...Im glad you know how to cook, i never really was too good in the kitchen." She mumbled, fiddling with the liming of the pocket her hand was shoved in to. He was not the only one whom knew they needed to actually talk... if he did not initiate the conversation sometime soon, she would. Since the incident where they were monsters there seemed to be an unspoken calmness about them, touching and kissing was casual. She had confessed her feelings to him in a overdose of whatever insanity was inside the fog, but they never really sat down and discussed anything, and she was getting antsy.

She wanted to know if he felt the same.

When Ceres wrapped her arm around him he affectionately rested his cheek against her head a moment before mashing the 'end' button on his phone. "Maybe that's your new FEAR charge.." Bix gave her a tiny, teasing hip nudge. SCARF MUMMY BIND.. GO!"

With the oven still heating, he could have been prepping the meat or something. There was a jar of dijon but all he really needed to do was slather it over the steak. Instead he turned a bit and slipped his arm under hers, his hand sliding to give her waist a squeeze. "I wouldn't say I'm an actual cook. I guess I never made an effort before but I pick things up really quick and I tend to obsess when I get my mind on something.." He turned a pinkish color. "So why not work on it?"

Ceres playing with his pocket was distracting but since he'd first become aware of the 'undefined' nature of their relationship right now it had fallen into his obsessive zone. It was all he could think about. He had a tendency to blab in moments like these, just ramble on and on. It was something he'd worked on since his attempts with Molly had gone south for him. Bix had for the most part reigned himself with Ceres but he was suddenly much more nervous than usual and he could feel a ramble bubbling from the tense knot settled in his chest.

The albino turned a bit, watching her face with a weird, constipated sort of smile that indicated he was distracted. He took a breath to speak, mouth opening.

AND THEN THE OVEN ALARM WENT OFF.

His mouth clapped shut. "I should get this steak ready."
PostPosted: Sat Dec 01, 2012 3:33 pm

It was cute, really. From his face, looking like he really needed to let one loose... to his body language... she found it adorable. Clamping her teeth on her bottom lip. she waited for him to say something. Anything. He seemed to be really bad at these things, bad at expressing himself when it came towards feelings of any kind. It was something she learned from him as he wormed his way into her feelings.

Her heart beat sped up, a gentle feeling that was soon pounding in her ears as she waited for him to speak...

And the damn alarm went off.

The random sound out of nowhere sure as hell scared her, causing her to shift slightly in reaction so he WOULD have noticed it even if her little 'meep' had not warned him.

And the moment was ruined.

"Goddamnit." She muttered, looking down at her feet for the briefest of moments. She needed that moment, JUST that moment to square herself. She said she would start the conversation somehow, and damn boy she was not letting you go just yet. Snapping her head up (careful not to nail him in the jaw ok) she grabbed the mans incredibly faded, well loved, shirt in front of his neck and pulled him down to do deliver a kiss. It was rough, as she was feeling particularly demanding and needy at the moment.

Eventually, she let him go and gave him a slight push away with her finger tips. "Go put the steak in the oven... while it cooks i think theres something we need..to address." See Bix, she did not use the classic words of 'we need to talk' like that one other time. She was learning!

"Mmph!" Was his own noise of surprise as she pulled him into the kiss but the slightly demanding delivery shut him up fast. As they settled into it his hands rubbed along her waist, just a comfortable moment to enjoy, before Ceres finally released him.

"O-ok." He looked a bit like a momentarily satisfied and dutiful puppy. He really was pretty easy when it came to any girl he liked, especially Ceres since he trusted her to not treat him like some sort of second class servant like his love life before the island.

She may not have used 'the words' but it still made him nervous, so assoon as he was free to move he busied himself with the steak. A bit of seasoning, some mustard, a tray. He fiddled with the oven to guarantee it was working and also to figure out the timer, and possibly even to delay for just another moment. He finally put the food in (he'd forgotten both a starch and a vegetable) and was wiping his hand on a towel as he stepped away from the kitchen.

He didn't say anything but he had a face that said 'um... um... um... soooo?'

Smooth.

Once the connection was broken and he had wandered off to go work on the steak, only then did she actually revert back into her shyness. She was grateful for the lul in their conversation, it gave her a chance to look within and think of how to word things. Words meant everything sometimes, and THIS sort of conversation she intended to have... she really didn't want to go wrong.

So as he muddled around in the kitchen, she moved into his living area to sit down. Taking their coats she gently moved them to the side. Well, more careful with his. She knew far too well how OCD he was with his things. She made enough room for them both to sit down comfortably at least.

Once he was finished putting the food in the oven and made his way back, she felt the corner of her mouth quirk up. Oh yeah she was so going to have to start the conversation. Good thing she had no problems with that. Sure she was embarrassed, nervous, and even a little anxious... but she could still form words just fine. For now.

Patting the space next to her, she prompted him to sit down next to her. Only once he was there did she scoot over so her thigh and hip touched his. She really was a creature of habit, and touch was one of those things she had to have between herself and well.. anyone she liked. Even if it was just a brush of her hand on a friends shoulder, a hip bump, a hug...she craved touch. "Sssoooooo." She smiled, continuing on his sentence where he had just left off. Only then did she falter, and a touch of uncertainty made its way into her eyes. Just because she knew she could start the conversation did not mean she knew where to start it...

"Back... before the incident." Ceres started, chewing on her lip a little as she pushed her way through the foggy memories and feelings. "I, well. I did not really get a chance to... see how you felt about things before i really flung myself at you." She was now fiddling with the hem of her shirt, looking down at it periodically between glancing up at him.

"Damnit." She muttered to herself softly, as she realized she REALLY was beating around the bush. If there was one thing her mother taught her, it was to take like by the horns and not let go. Stopping the stupidly girlishly fiddling, her seagreen eyes flicked up to study his face for the briefest of moments as she reached for one of his hands.

It was time for her to ramble.

"I know we have only known each other for what equivalents to maybe half a year, a little more maybe a little less. When i first met you it was friendship on first meeting. We started to talk because of a comic you were reading, you opening yourself up to me as if we had known each other for years. While at first we might not have seen each other as often, soon we started to hang out more and more... and heck, even just today i found myself not even thinking twice as i made my way here. The path so ingrained that thought was not even necessary, my body knew the way.

You have never judged me for my fears, my HUGE stubborn and even sometimes bossy streak, nor my nerdish tendencies. Even better? You are just as big of a geek as i am, possibly even a little more." She smiled at that, losing herself in a few memories for a fraction of a second before continuing on. "You might be frustrating at times, mostly because you tend to think i am helpless and dive in front of things to protect me. When it SHOULD really be the other way around. You are the sun to my moon." She let go of his hand briefly to punch him in the shoulder for that one. "Though i dont blame you for it, its in your nature to protect others as well. It frustrates the ever living hell out of me, but i figure if i drill it in to you enough you will get the picture..."

"For a while now whenever i saw you i felt something deep in my gut, some sort of whirling feeling that i have felt in the past but was not sure if i was reading it right. Feelings for you started to blossom the more i got to know you. Even through those frustrating times, it never changed. Even worse, i was not sure if i was picking up mixed signals from you. When in the mist and i felt my feelings being muddled with, my will to 'wait it out' was shot, and i just leaned in and went for the kill." Shifting a little, she turned some and, now a little embarrassed, thunked her head against his shoulder. "Basically what this round-about and overly wordy way is me saying, I have a bit of a crush on you... and have for a while, Bix." It was not love, she would not admit that just now. Not yet. She had feelings for him, that part was certain. Another thing her mother had taught her though... was to use the word 'love' carefully. Only use it if you truly meant it.

Bix's heart pounded as Ceres talked. He honestly felt too nervous to look at her face for the majority of it. He peered at his own hands, rubbing them together, picking at his nails, scratching some dry skin, whatever was distracting. That was at least until Mina mentally gave him a nudge not to be rude.

His cheeks seemed to redden as she continued and finally, at her admission, the difficult knot in his chest seemed heavier. It wasn't a bad sort of feeling but it was his own nervousness reinforced. She'd said a lot and he felt his need to ramble coming back again. When Ceres head hit his shoulder he rested his cheek on her head and took her hand in his, tangling their fingers carefully.

"I uh.." bad start. He cleared his throat. "I like you too. Like like." Very mature. "Like more than a crush but I mean.." He didn't want to say love either. Not when this talk was the first they were discussing it. "And it's been for a while but I was scared you only thought of me as your guy friend."

Bix fidgeted. "I was really happy. Really when you kissed me. Even if it was the insanity or whatever.. " it was clear that he wasn't the most eloquent with this sort of thing. "And then we died and I got sort of worried that it was too much pressure or too weird." Dying in eachother's arms? Even if this romance between them faltered and failed, that moment would never change. That life changing event tied the both of them together forever.

Bix took a breath and shifted, forcing her to lift her head so he could finally look at her face while he held her hand. "I'm not the best with my history with women. I.. I've got a solid record of failure and I guess that's not reassuring but you always make me feel like that stuff isn't even relevant and... it's comfortable and easy and.. you're way too pretty and good for me." He laughed a little.

After a pregnant pause where he searched her face, Bix finally said what he really meant. "So maybe.. I mean.. this sounds juvenile but are we a couple now? I can call you my girlfriend and be all weird and gross on you in public?" He was teasing, as his quirked smile revealed, but he still meant it.

Now it was her turn to stop, listen, and feel as if her heart was trapped inside a cage within her chest. Her own declaration at him was hard enough to get in to words, hard enough that she truly felt she did not get the emotion out she wanted to.

Thankfully... Bix seemed to be having jsut as much troubles as she had.

Still though she stayed quiet, listening to his awkward words and confessions intently. The indication that her silent was broken came in the form of a small laugh. Oh, Bix. "If relationships were always perfect they would be no fun." She poked his arm with some force behind it. "Dont sell yourself short, you are a handsome man you know." A pause... "Plus, you have a nice butt." Mischievous glint in her eye, she gave a small crooked smile. Boldly, she reached up towards him and twisting her own body some, she gently placed her lips against his. A tender kiss. "Yes... we are a couple now and you can be all 'weird and gross' in public. Only if i can return the favor, though." She said against his lips. A last minute decision, she continued to talk just as lightly but with a bit more or a harder edge. "But if you go out of your way to dive in front of every attack, put your shirt down for every mud puddle, strain over every bruise or cut i receive.." Aka: Not let her be a moon... "I will bite you." She bit his lip lightly, as if to make a point, but not hard enough to hurt.

Ceres was not a woman whom was easily coddled or fretted over. She was freaking stubborn, something Bix already knew but something she felt needed to be said.

Bix definitely turned pink to Ceres' compliments and audibly lamented, smiling, "Oh she only wants me for my hot body.."

When she twisted, his hands left hers and instead slid around her waist. Bix's eyes drooped when he returned her kiss and with all the assurances, his nervousness finally melted away. There was something especially comfortable about having a girlfriend. Even when alone, he'd feel less lonely knowing he had another half. He returned her kisses and just smirked as she spoke against his lips. The tug on his lips made the young man crack his red eyes open. He nibbled back on her lips with a teasing expression. "Oh baby. You know.. you're not very good with the threats."

So he gave her waist a squeeze and his fingers dared to tickle under her shirt, against the soft skin of her sides. How about that for a threat?
PostPosted: Mon Dec 17, 2012 11:18 am

"Hnnnmm... Sounds right." She said for a moment responding to his semi question, head cloudy. Was she attracted to the man? Hell yes.

"Will beat the snot out of you then." She said in a half serious tone a moment later, allowing herself to get lost in the moment. She should have known better, really this was Bix.

It was not until his hands trailed under her shirt that she was pulled out of that warm fuzzy place, brought crashing back into reality with a small yelp. Ceres was seriously ticklish. She squirmed in that touch, and looked at Bix now with eyes glassed over by frustration. "Oh, this means war Mr." She was on him a second later, pushing him back against the make-shift couch she tried to find a spot that HE was ticklish at.

"AH NO! NO FAIR!" Yeah he was sort of a b***h. Bix was sort of ticklish but mostly in really inconvenient places like feet or inside of his thighs (lawl). But he also was a bit of a pushover and was ready to surrender almost as soon as she threw him down. He squirmed and blocked her hands as best he could but eventually Bix simply bear hugged her, pinning her arms even though she was laying on top of him.

"I give up.." He laughed breathlessly. Plus.. you know. She was so man-hugged right now.
PostPosted: Mon Dec 17, 2012 11:37 am

Well, s**t. She seemed to be unable to make any ground finding where the hell the man was ticklish. If she had more time, she would eventually find somewhere...

Was he ticklish at all?

Determined face on, she WAS about to try somewhere else... only to have a certain pair of arms trap her like a vice, ensnaring her effectivly. Oh she squirmed some, trying to break that hold. Inhuman strength be damned, she STILL could not best the man. Looking down at him, she allowed her body to go limp as she glared (pouted?) ice at him. "Thats not giving up thats just cheating." Effectively a blanket on him now, she thunked her head against his chest and tried to squirm a little more. Was she giving up? Not in a hells chance! Her fingers still tried to tickle wherever they were trapped at.

Benefits of having your couch also be a bed? It was big enough to rumble on. As Ceres squirmed Bix rolled until she was under him and pinned once more. He'd slid his arms from around her and instead was holding her wrists down.

The albino paused to give her a look, the kind that would probably infuriate her because he looked so smug. With her wrists effectively pinned and her hips also pressed down under his, he grinned.

"Arrrawararararrrarra!" His head lunged into the crook of her neck with growling and smooching and biting. It was playful, not exactly sexy, but probably tickled quite a bit on his own. Especially with the teeny white stumbles he was sporting right now.

After a moment he lifted his face, grinning and pink. "Give up yet?"
