A face off with Enki, it seemed like a good way to practice all of the skills that he had mastered through his his journey to Zena and back. It had been a rough road with a lot of bumps in it like the battle with that Legendary Beast in which he felt that he didn't really do as much as he felt he should be able to do. Now though he felt better about himself, about his skills, and meant to fight hard because he knew that he was going to have to work his a** off for his tribe. Keilana had pointed out as much to him, because of the decisions he'd made to bring Takoda home with him, to make the Shifter male his mate, he was going to have to do much to make sure that his standing in the tribe wasn't compromised. On top of that he had to make sure that Takoda wasn't treated badly because he was different. Wasn't as though he had brought one of those haughty Alkidike giants back with him for something.

Reaching into his quiver he took out one of his blunted off, blue dyed arrows that he'd made back in Zena when he was sparring with that mage. Tapping it against his leg to make sure the dye still worked, and it did he notched his arrow, drew back, and let fly at Enki's broad chest. Nothing against the guy but he would like to get in at least one lick against him given how much his sister had drooled over the guy...

Enki had been waiting for Jacinthus to make his first move, but wasn't expecting what was to come next.

It seemed that Jacinthus was on a mission to hurt Enki, even if it was with blunted practice arrows. The arrow flew with deadly accuracy and would have hit if it hadn't have been for Enki's luck. He managed to dodge the blow of the arrow competely, rebounding from his dodge and pulling in close to Jacinthus, striking in retaliation.

The blow was only minor, but Enki could already tell that this would be a challenging match if Jacinthus kept up his pace.

Jacinthus gave a rather colorful string of curses under his breath when what looked like a perfect shot was side stepped so easily, as though he were a child playing a being an archer. Then the man was coming at him to retaliate for the first shot he'd made. It wasn't as strong a hit as he was expecting, maybe the man were just testing him and his defenses? He couldn't say but he moved to grab for another arrow, taking aim, and fired once more at the man that was he was dueling with. He supposed that he couldn't hope for it to be that easy, the man was a rather well known and gifted man in the tribe. This was going to be a difficult match but it would be worth it if he could land a hit or two before it was all over.

Enki was just jumping away from his hit against Jacinthus when another arrow was launched his way. He wasn't able to avoid this one and took the full brunt of the damage. The pain seared through his chest as the blunt arrow hit. It might not have the strength to pierce, but it stung with a force as strong as an aldabuk's charge.

He rit the ground and rolled to hit feet, rubbing his chest for only a second before charging for another attack. This time he wouldn't be holding back. Jacinthus had become stronger during their trek into Zena.

When Enki came at him next it seemed that it was with more force then before, seemed as though the man was done playing around with him, huh? The archer was quit to try to dodge out of the way but was unable to do so, not fully at least, taking a few good shots himself from the weapons that the other Leaf Tribesman was wielding. The archer was quickly to try to counter attack, taking another shot at Enki, but the arrows swished by the man in a manner that was reminiscent of the fight with the Legendary Beast and instantly he felt his frustrations rising up in him, frustrations that led him to muttering some more curses under his breath.

It wasn't hard to see that jacinthus was becoming frustrated. His attacks were getting sloppy, but Enki could sympathize. He had something of a temper himself, although probably much shorter than Jacinthus'.

Enki called out words of advice to Enki. "Calm yourself. You'll never get anywhere just shooting blind." The words were slightly cocky, it was hard for Enki to not say something with a hint of attitude most of the time.

Enki dodged the arrow that flew by his head with a smirk and came in for the attack again. With the rush of his weapon, he charged at Jacinthus and hoped to make contact as he had before.

It was hard to tell but... was Enki baiting him? The way that he said the words seemed to be rather cocky, making him feel as though the guy were in fact mocking him... it didn't really seem to aid his anger much but it did help it to go from anger at himself for failing his last few shots to anger at the other Leaf Tribesman for taunting him. As the other came rushing at him he did as he'd done before, forcing himself once more through the motions of dodging. He'd never figure it out if he didn't keep doing it, even if it got him injured time and again, it would be all that would help him to master such a feat... and this time, unlike last time, he was able to slide out of the way.

Lifting his bow up, a new arrow notched and ready, took a shot at Enki, wanting to leave behind another blue spot on the guy. Sure, it wouldn't be as satisfying as the battle with that idiot Shifter where he got to straight out punch but it would help a little.

The arrow struck Enki once more, leaving a blue streak on his arm this time. Enki was surprised that this one actually hit. Even more so that Jacinthus managed to dodge his attack completely. The blows from Jacinthus weren't all that powerful, but combined were beginning to wear him out. As he stood there slightly panting, he regained his composure. He wasn't about to show Jacinthus that he was being worn down.

He took a deep breath and charged at Jacinthus again, this time with a more powerful blow. Enki was going to end this battle soon, one way or the other.

His odds of dodging seemed to be a bit on the iffy side he thought himself, eyes narrowing slightly, as he got hit again though not as bad as he felt it could have been. It was a sorta dodge but not really. Glancing down for a moment he had a feeling that he was going to look even worse the day after, that seemed to be the norm when it came to a fight like this. Dragging in a breath he reached into his quiver for another arrow, lifting it up to take aim at the one before him and let it loose, hoping to score another hit. The both of them were looking as though they were on their last legs, something that pleased Jacin since he'd feared it would be a clean sweet by Enki, but at least he was holding his own, right?

Better then nothing he figured and most certainly better then he'd done in the past. Sure, he shouldn't hold the battle with the beast against himself, it was a big creature, but he saw it as a personal loss and was among the many things that the archer was fighting to overcome.

Enki smirked at his landed blow on Jacinthus, even if Jacinthus was only partially hit. It was enough to goad Jacinthus into attacking him again.

This time, Enki was prepared for it. He cleanly dodged the attack as if the arrow weren't even coming for him and came in close to Jacinthus. He swept in close and drew his weapons across Jacinthus' body. This one had to hit... hopefully.

Enki was still breathing hard, but refused to give the battle to Jacinthus.
