The park was deserted at this time of night. Celsus had always thought that playgrounds were rather dismal and creepy with no children climbing over them, the swings creaking eerily in the shadows of the evening, black marring the normally cheerful colors. He sat on the edge of a plastic bridge that stretched from one playhouse to the next, absently swinging his legs, lost in thought.
Something was bothering him, though he wasn't entirely certain he knew what that was just yet. Things had felt off for a while, though at first he'd merely brushed that off, pushed it aside because he had not been out patrolling since before Tolliver's accident.
But that was not it, and for the first time in a long time Celsus felt rather unsettled. Absently he twisted the coin around his neck, set into the symbol of Chronos, and thought of the Princess, wondering how she was doing as of late. He would have to check in with her soon; it had been too long since he had last seen her.
A soft wind rustled his hair and Celsus closed his eyes briefly, inhaling the scents of night, the taste of shadows, the feel of the breeze against his skin.
When he opened them again, he thought he could sense, somewhere off in the distance, the faintest trace of another power signature.

Chariklo loved the park. Out of the whole of Destiny City, the park was the one place where she felt the most at ease. Perhaps because it hadn't been completely tamed by the city. Whatever the reason, when the tall Dark Mirror wanted to sit and think, she preferred to do it in the park.
Not to mention that the park was also excellent for gathering the energy of the dumbshits who ignored curfews in order to sneak out and have illicit makeouts with their chosen love. It was two such that Chariklo had just finished siphoning energy from and now she was in the mood to find someplace away from their sprawled bodies to power down and go home.
And had it not been for the flicker of an Order fighter bearing down on her, she would have. But curiosity kept her in place.

She wasn't far off, appearing within a few moment's time. Celsus watched her cautiously from his position on the bridge, absently swinging his legs back and forth, still twisting the pendant in the necklace. She was not a Nega; the signature did not quite match, but she was not a White Moon senshi either.
Dark Mirror, perhaps, he thought, scrutinizing her slight form. He stretched a little, extending his arms skyward, and then got to his feet, the plastic bridge swaying a little unsteadily under weight it wasn't normally built for.
"Evening," said Celsus lightly, as he made his way down the bridge to the playhouse at one end, fingers ghosting over the chain link guardrail, a small smile on his face.
"Fancy meeting you here. You come to say hello?"

Not a Senshi, she decided upon seeing the male standing waiting for her. This was one of those Knights. Warily, she watched him through narrowed, sunset colored eyes as well as scanning the area around them. Already she'd had a couple encounters with Order fighters that had left her with a healthy respect for what they were capable of.
This time, she wasn't going to just dive into a fight. She was going to be smart and think before acting. At least this once.
"Back atcha," she replied in a friendly enough voice, appearing as relaxed as possible, though every muscle was tensing. "Just figured I'd be nosy and see who was wandering around this time of night."

"Well, you found me," said Celsus cheerfully, now stopping at the top of one of the playhouses, fingers absently rubbing over the golden necklace looped around his neck.
"What brings a Dark Mirror here, might I ask, hmmm? Surely you didn't come to chat; your lot don't really do that, if I recall correctly."

"Oh we do chat," she replied just as cheerfully, though there was a cold gleam in her eyes. "It just depends on whether or not it's worthwhile. 'Nother senshi, now, they'd be worth chatting up. You Knight guys... not so much."
As far as the verbal tossed gauntlet went, it wasn't much. But Chariklo wasn't exactly known for wordiness. She preferred short and sweet sass-talk. Which, it didn't look like this guy was going to really let her indulge.

He arched a brow.
"You telling me I'm not worthwhile?" said Celsus cheerfully. "Sounds feisty. I approve. Shall we get on with the fighting, then, since I assume that is where this is headed?"

Startled into a laugh, Chariklo shook her head for a moment. For her first real encounter with one of the Knights, she was having a hard time hating this one. Oh, she knew that the Knights were open game, but still. This one was kind of entertaining. Pity.
"Oh, I'm sure someone, somewhere thinks you are," she replied easily, already shifting her weight and balling her fists. "Just not us. Truth? You guys seem kinda useless. No offense, of course."
Even as the last word left her lips, Chariklo was charging the boy, intent on inflicting greivous bodily injury.

There was a small shrug, Celsus spreading his arms wide as he took a step back; an open invitation for her to come at him.
"On est seulement aussi inutile qu'ils veulent être," he quipped with a grin, and the senshi's shoulder barreled into his stomach, sending him staggering backwards several steps. He brought his knee up to pry her off, twisting her around with her wrist pinned against her back.
"And you guys seem kind of trigger happy. No offense."
