What Christof had told her stuck with her; he couldn't tell her what was going on, but Mal and Calder could. She was determined to figure it out one way or another, and so she resolved to find either the Doctor or the Kelpie. At the very least she could find out what happened at the celebration, but she was hoping that one of them would let slip where Dr. Fell's home was. It was a long shot, but she could dream; she did have a promise to full fill, and Dr. Fell's face wouldn't get punched on it's own.
First she had tried to find Malodore, since it would be easier to find; they did live in the same dorm after all. When that turned fruitless, she headed to the Monster dorms next to try and find Calder; again, nothing. Next was the Demon Dorms; maybe Calder was there with Barth, and Malodore with Riley. Either way, it was a sure bet in her mind! That was how she ended up in front of a Sloth Demon's door.
"Calder? Barth? You in there?" She called to the door she faced, knocking on it at first. Moments later she leaned in, pressing her ear against it to try and hear the going-ons inside.

Calder was indeed at Barth's, resting, tending, and trying to think of a few things on his place. Graduation would be fast approaching and he had things he had to do. When the knock came at the door, Calder was in the middle of cutting up a few vegetables so that he could make dinner for him and Barth.
Wiping his hands on his apron, he moved to the door and opened, smiling to see Amrita there. He hadn't seen her since the whole mess and hoped Christof had been doing his duty as a good boilfriend and tending to her.
"Hello, Amrita! I was just in the middle of making something. Come in." He shooed her in before shutting the door. "How have you been?"

"...A-Ah!" The ghoul squeaked out as the door opened, leaving her momentarily scrambling to keep her balance. That's what she got for leaning against the door, really. Her cheeks coloured in embarrassment, her hands linking behind her and her head dropping to stare at her backward heels.
"H-Hi, Calder." She started almost shyly, though gave another small squeak as he ushered her in and cut off her exit...not that she wanted to escape in the first place. "Um, ah, I've been..." Hmm, how was she? Her eye grew unfocused, almost distant as she thought about it bedore making her decision. "Good." She decided with a nod. "I've been good. How are you? I haven't seen you since I..." Turned into a giant fog beast and tried to kill him.
She was back to looking embarrassed as all get-out.

Enoh Love SO I thought I responded to this, but apparently I just left the tab open and never responded like a d**k. :C "Oh good. Good. Busy, I think. Maybe? I got things." He went to the kitchen. "Want anything to drink? Uh....I mean, unless you don't.." He kept forgetting his friends were undead and didn't need to drink. Being around Barth, one of his few living friends, he just felt like feeding those around him.
When he saw her fidgeting, trailing off, he stopped and smiled. Slowly he went to her and gave her a big hug. "All water under the bridge." He made sure his was extra, monster tight, picking her up a bit off the ground if she let him.

"O-oh. Um. Ah. N-no thank you." Amrita sheepishly denied the drink, not really needing it as an Undead. Sure she could eat and drink if she wanted to, she just didn't see the need if she didn't have to. The FEAR in the atmosphere was enough for her.
Before she knew it she had arms around her, which was enough to make the heavy feeling in her chest lift, easing the burden of guilt and remorse. "A-are you...?" Her arms would have been around him just as quickly had she the ability to move them. As it were he was giving her a Monster of a hug; one that made the weight disappear entirely while answering her question at the exact same time. "Th-thank you..." For forgiving her, for being a fantastic friend, for being so kind, for the hug...there were so many things she could thank Calder for, but it was just easier to keep the reasons to herself. The words still had quite the weight to them, and she had a hard time spitting them out without sounding like she was on the verge of tears.
If and when he put her down, Amrita gave a sniffle and started pawing at her dry eyes, miming away the tears she knew wouldn't fall.
"A-actually, I...I had something to ask you...i-if you don't mind."MoonKitsune IT'S OKAY BB ILU plus I'm in the running for most flakey in an RP so you've got nothing to worry about, darlin!

He smiled to her, knowing that her eye wiping was not from sad tears, or so he hoped. If she cried, he would be sure to nuzzle her until the tears went away. When she settled, he stepped closer to the kitchen to check on a pot of stew he was making. "Hmm? Sure, what is it?" He always liked helping Amrita when he could.

"What did Christof's Master--" Amrita practically hissed, venom clear in her voice for that single word. "--do at the Celebration?" Amrita's voice evened out quickly, not wasting any time in getting her question out. It was important to her; she had several follow up questions of course, but this one had a higher priority. "Christof wouldn't - no, couldn't tell me, but he mentioned you were there, so you'd know, right? What happened?" She had to know, and in case he decided to try and spare her from the going-ons, she gave him her most pleading look, hoping that would sway any potential hesitations in her favour.

"Oh....that." Calder said, moving to stir the pot that was resting on the stove top in Barth's kitchenette. It was nice to have a room with so much space and all the luxuries of a fine home. Calder especially liked the stove he didn't have to fetch wood for. Just a knob turn and he was in business.
Covering the pot, he leaned against the counter. "Well, he showed up, being his rather nasty self. Dr. Fell....he's not good." There had been a lot on his mind since Dr. Fell spoke. "Actually, he mentioned about graduation. It's something I was thinking about a long time since visiting Dr. Fell last summer." He breathed out.
It was then that he heard a door next door shut and, having stayed at Barth's long enough to know, knew the room to be Riley's. Considering she was one of his masters, he wondered if she should know too.
"Wait a moment."
Calder moved to the door, peeking out to see Malodore turning. Oh, even better! "Mal! Hey Mal. Can you come over here for a bit? I want to talk to you about something."

The plague doctor turned, surprised, at the sound of Calder's voice. "Ah - mi dispiace, I was not expecting to see you here." It closed Riley's door behind it, turning the key to lock the door before tucking said key away in one sleeve. "What can I do for you, my friend?"

Calder ushered Malodore inside. "I'm talking about Dr. Fell with Amrita. I need to discuss something with you about this." He said, looking around to make sure Christof wasn't coming around the corner before shutting the door.
The kelpie trotted inside, petting a cushion to suggest Malodore set it's bottom down a moment.
"Alright. I need to talk to you about something that happened during Spirit Week that Amrita doesn't know about and Chrsitof couldn't tell her. It's about what is going to happen to Christof after he graduates." Calder took a breath. "Dr. Fell is Christof's creator and master, but he's a mean man who doesn't care about our friend at all. I don't think he cares about anything. In the end, he wants to sell Christof to the highest bidder. That can be anyone, even someone worse than Dr. Fell." He breathed deep.
"I'm not a rich kelpie either." He hoped his friends understood what he was getting at - buying Christof's freedom.

Amrita was doing her best to not look as impatient as she felt. She wanted to know what went down, and Calder was telling her things she already knew. Dr. Fell was nasty, he was not good, blah blah blah. As he went on, his little story turned from things she knew to things that confused her. Graduation? Visiting Dr. Fell? Okay that last one had her interest - she wanted to know where he lived too, but for nefarious reasons - and just as she had a question on the tip of her tongue, Calder stopped and excused himself to the door.
She slumped visibly once his back was turned, trying to quiet her groan of frustrated disappointment. Regardless she was on the Kelpie's heels, not about to be left out nor give them the chance to discuss something amongst themselves.
"Hi, Mal." She said quickly, distracted as she wanted information, not greetings. The unusually impatient Vetala remained as nearby as she could, hands clasped behind her. Calder had started talking again, and now she was getting the information she wanted. What she heard didn't please her, and her hands clenched tightly behind her, gripping so hard her knuckles turned white.
"S-so...so that's why..." Selling Christof to the highest bidder...no wonder he was so out of sorts when he mentioned it. No wonder he wanted to run away. What could she do? She was just a third year, Dr. Fell was an old, crazy inventor. If he made Christof, what else was lurking in his abode? The Vetala let out another frustrated whine, but this time her knuckles pressed tightly against her temples. "NO, No that can't happen, he can't be sold, we can't---" I can't lose him, she acknowledged to herself, wrapping her arms around her stomach. "I don't have many seeds either..."

" Buon giorno, Amrita - I hope you are doing well," Malodore said by way of greeting, opening its beak in a smile. It didn't blame her at all for what had happened in the Haunted House, of course. It knew better than that... more than most. Calder's choice of topic, though, startled it. " Si - my Casa had an Igor, actually. Very unassuming. I didn't see it much. Him? Her?" The plague doctors had been raised to view outsiders - non plague doctors - as interesting puzzles to be solved and sources of income, little else. The Igor had been a tool. At the time, it hadn't thought there was anything remotely wrong with that. And maybe there hadn't been, if the Igor was satisfied to be in that role. But if not... "He seemed dangerous," it agreed, nodding at Calder's description of Dr. Fell. "But he spoke to me more as... not an equal, but, ah. With slightly less disdain? Perhaps that can be used to our advantage. We are both beings of Science, after all. Common ground? Funds, however... hm."

"I don't know what he'd wants. When Barth and I visited, he just kept talking about what parts of us had magical properties. His other Igor tried to jump us as we slept and chased us. It had to be commanded to do that. I don't believe that Igor just snapped. We were chased out before we even spent a day in that castle."
He sighed as he thought about it. "Dr. Fell doesn't talk about caring about Christof as far as that he'd a prize masterpiece that he wants to cash in." He wondered about something before looking to Mal.
"He did talk to you better than the rest of us. Do you think.......do you think you could write Doctor Fell and talk the doctor up a bit like your interested in his work, and then mention what price he might want for Christof? Just so we know what we're looking at." They needed something and Calder doubted Dr. Fell would talk to Barth and him. He was nothing but a monster, a living creature, to the demon.
