Melvin stepped in the portal and was welcomed to the smell of salt water stronger than the breezes that came on the island. There was a heavy wetness that clung to the lungs, it was dark aside from torches that threw light on the wet, stone walls. They were here, or someone had a very large basement.
"I think..you found it, Jerry." He said, turning to him with a smile. "Another place of legend." Another place to document, and hopefully find more artifacts.

He stepped in slowly, looking around. It was a far cry from the muse islands. The place was dark, cold, and held the heavy smell of the sea. The passages moved on into the dark, the sound of torches crackling here and there.
"I doubt you'll hear any music here."

"That's... unfortunate," But there was music everywhere. He just needed to help set the beat. "Coast looks clear, at least. Let's get going." His trigger finger was itchy all the same.

"Right. At least no birds here." He pointed out, and headed down the passage, moving slowly and checking behind to make sure Jerry was close by. This was a maze after all, much different to the jungle, and he wanted to be sure they made it to the end together.

Jerry saw this maze and was disappointed there was nothing to shoot. He did admire some blasting holes on his way through- which somehow lead him to the end without much to-do.

He followed, touching the walls and moving until he saw a chamber ahead. "We're almost there." He told Jerry, moving as his eyes set sight of the goal.
Click!
He looked down as a pad was pressed by his shoes, and then, looking to Jerry, the panel he stood shot up and into a hole in the wall. Melvin was gone.

They returned, back to the same place, back to the dark, dank hallways from before. "I..really appreciate this. Seems this place has more traps than the island." Much more, and the bad thing was that it was so dark that you didn't even see them at all. He was sure they were getting close to something and it seemed that the security must have kicked in right when they were getting near. Just their luck.

He breathed deep, moving slowly with his gun at his side. "Seems quiet here." It was almost eerie to just hear the drip-drip of water and nothing else but their footfalls on wet stone.

He moved into the maze and was soon lost, looking back to Jerry and making sure to mind where he was stepping. "This place is massive. I bet it goes on for miles in all directions." He wondered if a minotaur would be around any corner, but they found nothing but darkness and damp. It was unsettling by how little there was.
He just kept moving.

Jerry wobbled forward, and it wasn't long before a trap had snapped the path between them closed. Great. This wasn't the isle of the muses, there was no music to pull him forward.

It felt like just instinct here. He turned a corner, paused, and then turned around and went around another before he entered a large room he remembered before. There were hallways all joining to this spot. A center or maybe a side chamber. Whatever the case, it was a sign of progress.

Just keep his weapon leveled and hope for something to shoot at.
Apparently shooting did very little for gnarled, blood-rusted spikes launching toward him.
