Fear of developing wrinkles and saggy skin comes with old age, but there is a simple way to delay the signs of age: limit your intake of sugar.
The proteins collagen and elastin are responsible for maintaining a youthful complexion. Sugar molecules are most attracted to these delicious proteins and bond with them in a process known as glycation. These alternated proteins cause your skin to become more vulnerable to bad stuff like UV light and cigarette smoke. As we age, it becomes harder to regenerate collagen and elastin, so the skin’s surface then appears wrinkled, saggy, and dull. Try your best to limit your sugar consumption to below 30 grams a day (yes, yes I know it's hard considering that even a bowl of cereal contains a good 13g of sugar). Try using stevia to sweeten your goods, use honey in moderation, avoid all artificial sweeteners, and don’t use agave syrup because it’s highly processed stuff.
In addition to keeping your skin plump and gorgeous longer, limiting your sugar many other benefits as well, but I won't get into that. Be aware that the sugar in fruits do not count, so enjoy as much as you want :]
