And sadly enough I just got a message from that customer yelling at me for refunding and cancelling the order when he admitted the email he provided is not one he checks. Roundaboutedly called me names and a horrible person, that "you get what you pay for" with me.
I really don't understand some people. If he'd read both messages I sent he would see I was 100% willing to complete the sale and even in my cancelled order message I stated he was welcome to re-buy them.
As for the friends, there's reasons why I don't associate with them anymore. But I've found a lot of people think similar things about those of us who can draw. You're supposed to have the ability to draw everything and have it be accurate and either do it for free or for next to nothing because "it's just a drawing."
Lovely Distraction
That is terrible that your friends took advantage of you like that! Some people don't realize how much time things takes to make.
As for your Etsy stop order that is even worse! We have had people want their item in a few days but NEVER during the holidays let alone the night before!
eek Bleeding Art
I made the mistake of doing a character commission for a now ex friend years ago. And naturally I ask for pictures/basic description and kid you not she sends me a two page description with paragraphs that contained maybe a dozen or more sentences each because she had to describe every minute detail and why it was there, her history, etc etc. Basically the majority was nothing I needed and what I did need was so lost I ended up giving the character the wrong hair color and she had a fit.
I had another friend who kept demanding I draw her with Snape or the actor in any of his roles with her and when I refused she would get upset and demand to know why. Reason being she wasn't even 18 and she wanted a drawing of her being cuddly or PG-13 intimate with a man in his 40s. Yeah no.
Just recently in my Etsy shop I got an order at 10:50pm on the Saturday before Christmas with the note to seller saying "ship ASAP need for Christmas thanks." I was being asked a miracle, basically, because the last day for overnight shipping had been that day because Christmas Eve was Monday and there was no way it would get there on time. I sent him two messages and then waited a week before refunding his money and cancelling the order. I'm not a fairy, I can't wiggle my butt and have a package at your doorstep when the mail isn't delivering.
