Rolled a One: Ice Field: The temperature of the stadium suddenly drops several degrees (just enough so breath was visual and winter-wear is needed) as the stadium floor shifts for the upcoming battle. The floor turns into extremely slick ice which makes maneuverability, even simply standing, difficult. Randomly placed crystal-like pillars reach skyward from the frozen water, reflecting the florescent lights to all sides of the battle-field. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to ICE type attacks.

Kronos nosed the ground eagerly as she traveled, her tail constantly wagging and sweeping the grass behind her. Having chosen to go off adventuring alone, she was lacking in both trainers and allies alike, although she thought little of either. Who could be concerned over such things when there was exciting land to explore? Not even the winter chill bothered her!
Snorting happily, she shoved aside some tall reeds before running forward, only to find herself slipping. It looked as if she'd stumbled upon a frozen lake.

Stormcaller's wandering brought him to the edge of a frozen lake. His thick winter coat kept him cozy, but he paused to chew packed snow out from between his pads. This place felt almost like home. Finished, he exhaled a frosty sigh and scanned the area, ears and nose working. There had to be something to eat around here...

Kronos' head shot up when she heard another approach, and she eagerly rushed towards the source of the sound. She only went a few steps before tripping again, however, and attempted to call the other over with a howl instead, hoping that whoever it was would have much better luck walking on the ice than she did.

((I'm just afraid the most likely thing to happen is Storm being mean to Kronos - poor cutie! XD))
Storm's ears flicked, honing in on the source of the howl. He tossed back an short answering cry. It had sounded like it was out on the ice. His tail fell a little as he pawed at it's unwelcoming surface with a grimace and set out across, carefully, gripping at the surface with blunt claws.

Kronos scrambled to her feet in response, yipping some more to let the other know where she was. The ice was still hindering her efforts to move, so she struck it a solid blow a few times, sending thick chunks of ice flying overhead. She was still young and didn't realize there was water beneath the ice.

Shards of the ice scattered into his face he approached the other 'yena. Storm yelped and scrabbled backwards, slipping. He turned a narrow look at the opposing pokemon. "What was that?" he snarled

"What was what?" she asked curiously without ceasing her attack, only just now noticing the hefty chunks of ice scattered around her.

Storm grunted as another big chunk thudded into his shoulder, leaving it throbbing. "That!" he barked sharply, shying as another came his direction. He cocked his head. "Why are you breaking up the ice?"

Kronos managed to see the cause of his yelps this time, and she paused momentarily apologetically.
"I'm gonna get rid of it," she explained. "It's hard to walk on!"
With that, she returned her attention to the task at paw, although this time she made an effort to aim the stones elsewhere (she failed). "Wanna help?"

He peered at the broken up surface. "It's a lake. You can't get rid of a lake, stupid." He tried to dodge more debris and slipped again. "You can find water pokemon trapped underneath sometimes, though." His stomach growled.
"Move." he ordered with a snap, shouldered her aside, reared up and pounded at the ice with both paws.

"Really?" Kronos cocked her ears at the revelation, paying no heed to the insult directed at her. It didn't look at all like water to her, much less something habitable, but the Poochyena seemed to know what he was doing.
She allowed herself to be pushed away but didn't go far. Tail wagging rapidly at the idea of a potential discovery, she struck the ice with him, staring at the deepening cracks intently.

"Really" he panted. He hoped. If it was frozen to the bottom and they didn't find anything it was a heck of a lot of work for nothing.
He was blasted by even more flying debris. With a pained grimace he decided he was not about to be outdone and went after the ice in the same way.

Kronos craned forward at his confirmation, as if to peer through the ice and water through sheer willpower alone. Her efforts were rewarded by a block of ice to the chin and, with a wuff, she kept her head well back.
"How can you tell?" she asked, wondering if this was some elaborate joke. "I can't see anything past the ice!"
