Among a field of wheat and flowers a soft-toned mare stood basking in the night sky. Her short black mane blew gently in the wind, it's ends tickling her neck. After just arriving in the Kawani lands she found herself engulfed in the wonder and mysteries this land held. It hadn't taken her long to stumble upon this field and for the most part she had rarely adventured from it. Then again, she had no idea where she was or where she was going. All she knew was that she wanted to stay in these lands for a while.
With a gentle flick of her tail she was off, running and kicking her legs behind her, small light hearted whinny's erupting from her from time to time. "It's so pretty!" She exclaimed as she stared up at the stars before coming to a halt to catch her breath. The stars here seemed different from her previous homelands. Maybe it was because she was able to look at them from someplace new. It didn't matter to her though. She was loving every minute of it.
Odila smiled and laid down, pulling her legs up tightly. The area she had ended up in was still filled with flowers but the wheat was no longer in sight. She assumed this was probably further from the two-leggers camp as she couldn't see any smoke off in the distance. Odila whinnied joyfully once more before rolling onto her side and trying to figure out if the stars where really the same here as they were back in her homeland.

 He definitely stood out with the moonlight bathing his form. Revenant wrinkled his nose as the fact registered in his brain. Standing on an open plain in under a full moon was probably not the greatest idea. His wings reflected the moonlight before a loud grumble was pulled from his chest. The only good thing about the ambient light was that it made his beauty more unearthly. He was always open to think about his appearance.
His thoughts were interrupted with the sound of a mare's whinny floating on the air. His eyes scanned the horizon and caught some sort of movement darting around in the distance. Revenant groaned softly before shaking his head in an attempt to fluff the feathers in his mane. Maybe he could gain an admirer ... if not that then who knew what could happen. Strutting with a confident air Revenant drew closer to the area where the movement had been.
"Hello?"

The mare had been far to absorbed in the night sky to notice that there had been a stallion off in the distance. Not that she was very observant anyways. However, when the male approached her she smiled up at him. "Hello!" She said happily. "Are you here to watch the stars too?" Odila asked curiously, it was clear that this mare was very naive and innocent. For a moment her eyes left him and returned to the stars. But then she couldn't help but return her gaze to him.
"You seem like you belong up there." Odila said, her head tilted slightly so she could fully take in his appearance. He seemed to have a lot of genes running through him, not that this mare minded in the least. In fact, she found it extremely intriguing. That might have been mostly due to the fact that she had never met someone who had more then one breed in them. "Your mane is amazing!" She added, joyfully. "I've never met anyone who had feathers!" Odila whinnied a bit like a little filly who had just discovered that she could walk. Which wouldn't be far from the truth. Odila hadn't been an adult very long and she found herself unable to be mature most of the time. "And you even have wings!" She exclaimed, now rising to her feet and putting her muzzle near his wings for a closer inspection.

Watch the stars? Revenant leveled the mare with his blue eyes before peering up at the heavens above for a brief moment. He lowered his head to once again peer at the mare before shaking his head. "Sadly I must admit that I did not come to watch the stars. I take it that you have come to do just that though?"
It was when the mare began to watch him more than the sky above that Revenant couldn't help but stand a little taller. He was indeed an interesting specimen; the wings on his back indicated his Flutter heritage, the cloven hooves and fluffy tail were indicators of the Cerynei genes in his blood and the feathered mane was a parting gift from the Hippogryph. All in all he thought himself a unique stallion.
Revenant brought himself back into the moment to secretly agree that he could have belonged in the heavens. The stallion watched quietly as the mare began to exclaim over his mane. "I thank you. My mane is amazing, although it is sometimes hard to keep in order." As the mare nosed closer for a closer look at his wings, Revenant held still. He liked the attention but this mare was beginning to chafe his patience. His muscles tensed before his wings opened and closed. "Ah..." How could he get this mare to back away? "I don't think we've been properly introduced. I am Revenant. To whom do I have the pleasure of addressing?"
Hopefully the mare would retreat a little from her inspection. She was making him rather nervous.

"Yes actually." She replied, before stepping away a bit from the male so that she could make eye contact. "I suppose it would be. Birds seem to preen their feathers a lot, so I guess it must be the same?" Odila asked. "Oh! I'm Odila." Her fluffy tail shook a bit in happiness. "I've never met anyone like you before. In fact, I've never met anyone who had a feathered mane or wings." Odila added, realizing now she might have gotten to close. Poor mare never really thought about what she did before she did it.
"Your wings are remarkably thin up close. You can see right through them!" The mare grinned. For a moment she paused, now realizing she was talking an awful lot. Her pale cheeks turned a soft pink. "Sorry, I'm new to these lands and I grew up very sheltered." Odila closed her eyes tightly, her ears pinning back as if she was expecting him to shout at her or something as that was what she had been accustomed to.

Revenant gave a small sigh of relief as the mare pulled away from inspecting his wings. His ears pricked forward at the sound of the mare's name falling from her lips. He processed and filed away the word before making his own inspection of the mare. Clearly she was of the Cerynei; her cloven hooves and tail a match to his own. Revenant let the comment about his wings slide for the moment. He knew that they were almost see through. It didn't mean that they weren't still capable of lifting him into the air if the need arose.
He grinned at the slight pinking of her cheeks. Was this indicating embarrassment? Revenant frowned before failing to hold back a chuckle. "I guess you and I are in the same boat so to speak then Odila. For I am still new to the land as well. You have nothing to worry about."
