Melvin needed time between muse island exploring, and was back on the training fields. Being outside gave him some time to think without a order being barked at from a tech above him, and he had learned that aside from being used as live bait, he wasn't much of a shot. Sure, he wasn't a Sun, but he really needed to get better.
Back on the field, he was shooting dummies again, trying to at least get hitting standing targets done before he could even think about possibly handling moving targets.

Nevada had been studying the life hunter for awhile now. Of course he didn't notice her on the field, sleeping...or lazing in a pile of discarded dummies but she sure saw him.
And while he was practicing and doing good, it would do him no good if he continued to shoot at stand still dummies.
Debating over helping took at least ten minutes....and it took another ten minutes to slink her way over to the Life hunter.
"Excuse me life hunter...but does it help you to shoot at that them like that?" She said softly. "Wouldn't you'd rather face someone who moves and shoots you back?"
Was she offering herself? Why yes she was.

Nyxtsuki Moon She wins. Not even going to roll with that. LOL.
"Well, yes. Usually, but I didn't see anyone here. I'd rather practice on dummies than nothing at all." And usually he liked dummies over spars at times.
"Are you saying you want to spar?" He liked confirmation and didn't like assuming too much.

"That's true isn't it..." She repeated thoughtfully, "Well I can assume that training in general is easier when you have something to hit but..." Her eyes literally sparkled as she looked at him.
"I haven't sparred with anyone who is long range like myself." And with that, Leroy was summoned int her hands as she tested the weight. Somehow her weapon managed to stay at a comfortable and light weight.
"Ah this is Leroy, we're training to be gun experts." She nodded, "A spar sounds lovely you know? Shall I begin?" And with that pulled the trigger.

Oh, look at that. Her gun is cute. How about you show what training you've done. Gun on gun! Saliva was pumped to do some damage, to show her worth against a weapon similar to her own form. Melvin was actually rather interested how he fared against another long-range weapon. He only had sparred with Otto, who had a giant boomerang, and Jerry's giant bazooka. Not anywhere close to his own weapon in size and power.
"This is Saliva. Let's see how this goes." He aimed as well, but missed her by a foot. Damnit, this wasn't going well.

She just tsked at Melvin and nodded at him.
"Don't worry! We have a whole spar to shoot at each other don't you think?" She winked at the life hunter.
Also instead of shooting, she was giving words of encouragement!

"Would rather not spend all evening shooting at you. Then that will be really depressing. I think we can do better than that." More specifically, he hoped he could do better and could at least manage hitting more than he missed.
He hoped.

"Sleeping? Not trying to be a over achiever, are you?" He was pushed back from the hard hit, and balanced himself as he rubbed the spot where she hit. She was a hard hitter.
Aiming, he fired again, though it packed a lot less punch than her own round. "It would be nice if everyone could just relax around here, but just laying about drives me crazy. It makes me a bit stir crazy."

"Okay sweetie. Prepare for the charge!" And then fired. Her gun, instead of using spray of bullets, powered a long beam.
It hit Melvin's shield hard.
