Mzuka panted heavily as he plopped his behind down on a rock. Releasing the small gem he had been clutching in his mouth this entire time, the Leopon managed to catch it in his paw before it fell into the small pond below him.

He grinned, happy at his success. That air-headed lioness probably didn't even realize how much trinkets Mzuka had stolen of hers. He had a whole bag of them actually. When he found such a beast wandering around, carrying jewel after gem after fabric... He knew he couldn't let such an oppertunity pass itself up.

After all, how often was it that you found a walking gold mine?

The petty thief reached under his rock and picked up a tiny bag of asorted gems. 'One more to add to the collection' he thought as he allowed the green emerald slip into the bag he now held.

In truth he usually didn't steal anything. Nor did he feel such glee from it. He was pretty much a saint when it came to theivery. But, like a cub learning things for the first time, he soon discovered that he could get away with such acts. Not be punished for it. Being raised in a forest that very few rogues visited, thugs and theifs weren't exactly the top priorty of your concern.

So in short Mzuka was completely new to this sort of living. Not exactly sure of what he was getting himself into too, Mzuka simply sat upon his rock, carefully handling his new treasures to ensure he didn't lose any of them.

Kona'Vatn was lounging up in a nearby tree, looking out over the pond when she caught sight of something out of the corner of her eye. She shifted position so she could get a better look. She first spotted the mane and then the rest of him. Not a lion, she thought, judging by his build.

While she was speculating over what he was, she noticed that he had spit something out into his paw. She leaned a bit closer on the branch, though not enough to fall, to see what it was. She couldn't tell from how high she was but she did notice the sparkle off of the stone. She watched as he pulled a bag out from under the rock he had been sitting on and slid the rock into the bag.

She smirked before calling out to him, "What do we have here?"

He nearly had a heart attack when he heard someone call out to him. As if that bubbly lioness had actually managed to follow him or something. But he didn't see anyone around him. And the voice didn't sound even remotely familiar in his mind. Though it did contain hints of belonging to a female, it wasn't that of anyone he knew.

Looking around cluelessly, he finally managed to spot the leopardess resting in a tree not too far from him. He breathed a sigh of relief.

"Fancy rocks." He held up his bag. Deciding it probably wasn't a good idea to gloat about theiving, Mzuka skipped out the part about how he obtained them. Getting up off his rock, he approched the tree of which the leopardess was resting in.

"Mind if I join you up there?"

At his response to inquiry about what he had, Kona gave a small smirk. "Fancy rocks, huh?" She may not have been around too many others, living out here in the rogue areas but she knew what 'fancy rocks' were. She had to admit, she had gotten a kick out of watching him look around in a bit of panic before he saw her.

All most like he had expected her to be someone else. Her smirk grew wider when she saw him breath out a sigh of what seemed to be relief.

"Mind if I take a look at those 'fancy rocks'?"

Mzuka gave a grin as he easily scaled up the tree the leopardess was sitting in. dropping his small pouch back into his paws again, he removed one of the shiny stones he had collected.

The particular one he removed was the same green one from before.

He had no words to say. Merely just sat there with a smirk on his face as the leopardess examined his newly "found" treasures.

Kona continued smirking as the leopon climbed up to the branch she was lounging on and removed the rock he had been looking at before.

She looked over the stone and chuckled. So she had assumed right; this was no regular 'fancy rock'.

"That must have cost you quite a bit, huh?" For some reason she doubted that he had actually paid or traded for the emerald.

He grinned again. "Well, let's just say I found it."

It was nice to know that someone else was taking interest in his stolen goods. As far as he was concerned his mother wouldn't approve of this. She was always about shairing your rations, you don't know if your travelling companion is doing well or not.

Then again, that lioness he had 'found' these on had so many of them. She wasn't shairing her rations, instead she was hoarding them all. Mzuka was doing a good thing then. Teaching that brainless land-kitty a lesson. If you plan on hoarding your rations, at least store them away safely like he had been doing.

"Oh really?" Kona asked with a grin and ran the tip of her tail under his chin, "You must be a good finder then." She highly doubted he had 'found' the gem legitimately; he didn't seem like the type.

She watched him with the bag and plotted her next move.

"Maybe." Mzuka continued to wear a silly grin on his face, although, very aware that his new aquantance perhapes had intentions to steal his treasures. So he clutched his bag tightly while continuing to engage in conversation. "Land-walkers can be surprisingly ignorant." He said after a brief silence.

The smirk stayed on her face as she watched him clutch the bag tighter. For appearing with the stupid grin on his face, he wasn't completely stupid. She cocked her head to the side at his comment.

"Are you not a 'land-walker'?" He didn't have wings and there was no way he could hop from tree to tree all the time; the only way he could get anywhere was to walk on land.

"Less then most of my type." He declared proudly. "I grew up in the jungle, you want to survive there you need to walk in the trees." Besides from that he was just a regular land-walker himself. With the expection that he was a hybrid, which made him a natural-born tree climber.

"Fine then... Lions can be ignorant." He said, continuing to hold onto his bag dearly.

The male's cockiness was slowly getting close to pushing Kona over the edge. One more quip and he would quickly lose the jewels he was trying to hard to protect.

She looked him over at his remark about lions and scoffed. "You must not like your family too much then; I'm surprised you don't get mistaken for a lion."

Now, the hybrid had his moments where he acted dumb, cocky, even irritating. He usually was always silly at least, that is when actually ever talked to another creature. When he wasn't socializing he was typically silent, hidden from all preying eyes. He had invented his own ability to watch from afar; before making just movements that would please his audience. Or rather, simplified, he wished to attempt to know just what they would like to hear coming from that grinning mouth of his.

Unfortunalty, with this leopardess, up until now Mzuka had been acting on the spur of the moment. He hadn't considered what it was that Kona would be interested in hearing, which was a big mistake on his behalf. This conversation that was going to quickly take a turn for the worse if Mzuka didn't clean up his act. Or... Improvised.

He carefully processed all of which the leopardess had said to him, and attempted to fix the mess he was causing.

"I have been." He said, thinking up a time of which someone truly believed he was a lion. "Lots of times. I only say lions are ill-mannered because they have no respect for my kind." He paused for a moment, grasping the tiny details of the story he had interesting in telling to his companion. "Nor do they respect yours."

Now he sounded more like the thief that he was. The goofy smile didn't seem to fit him, at least in her eyes. There would be no way he would have half of the items he had collected in his little bag if he kept up the attitude he had shown her at first.

She lounged a bit more on the branch and considered what he had said. "True," she replied, not many lions she had met had been very respectful to her, though there had been a few that she had. "Though you mistake a few for the whole breed."

"Yeah, I guess most are nice. But it's those few that aren't that seem to cause trouble." He still had the desire to tell the leopardess in front of him his story, only now that wasn't top priorty. He was searching for a way to explain his feeling towards lions in general.

"Like, they rule prides. Make it so that creatures like us have to obey their every word. Even if in that environment the ones we have to obey are nice to us, it was originally the ruler that placed those rules to begin with. So it doesn't take a lot of lions to cause problems for the other non-lion species."

Mzuka paused after words, waiting for a responce. A small part of him wondered why the leopard in front of him felt so insulted by him saying lions where ignorant. Of course, he pushed those thoughts away, saving it for perhapes later tonight for him to ponder over. For now he simply wanted to express his opinon without being slaughtered by anyone.
