Nikiana & Jasper Small cafe in Aimes Midday Mild and sunny
As the market crowd died out, Niki had decided to close up for the day. She'd sold most of what she'd brought with her and it wasn't worth the slow afternoon crowd to try and sell what she had left. So, instead, she'd decided to treat herself to lunch at a nearby cafe. Sadly, it seemed that many from the market had thought the same thing and the cafe was swamped. The workers were running through the place, trying to keep orders straight and get everyone served.
Niki hung back, debating trying to find another place instead. She was not very familiar with Aimes, especially once you got out of the market region. And she hated getting lost. So, she was torn on what to do as she stood just outside the cafe. So many bodies in the small place had caused it to warm up and the doors and windows were open wherever possible, allowing the babble of conversations from within to float out to where passersby could hear.

Jasper was walking down the stone pathway, his fingers intermingled behind him, holding his head up. He only had two deliveries today and since he finished early, his boss let him have the rest of the day to himself. "Hmm... what can I do today?" Normally after work or on days off, Jasper and his friends would go hang around in the town square until dark, but they were all busy with work and previously made plans. So Jasper just walked about, enjoying the company of himself. Soon he closed in on a very busy cafe and couldn't help but overhear the conversations that blared out onto the street. He was fixated, now evesdropping more so than overhearing. Infact, he was so fixated on the gossip being spoken inside that he didn't see the young women right in front of him and bumped right into her, nearly knocking her and himself to the ground. "Oh, I'm so sorry. I guess i didn't see you there. Are you alright?" He turned to look back at the cafe. "Wow, sure is busy today."here is a pic of Jasper for your viewing pleasures. (incase you didn't know what he looked like)

Niki's attention was focused entirely on the cafe and not on the people walking by, so when Jasper ran into her, she was caught by surprise. "Oh, sorry. I guess I'm kind of in the way," she reassured the man as she caught herself and straighten back up once more. She resettled part of the shawl she was wearing back over her shoulder, then turned her attention to the younger man.
Though younger than her (yet not by much!), he was taller than her by several inches at least. His comment about the cafe drew her attention back to it and she nodded. "Guess everyone decided to stop here after the market for lunch..." She gave a bit of a sigh, wondering if there was another place not too far away that wasn't so busy. She would ask, but she was a bit shy when dealing with strangers who weren't trying to buy her stuff.

Jasper gave a little laugh at her comment about the cafe. "Can't say I blame them. They have some pretty good food here." He looked over at the lady next to him, she must have wanted to eat here today. By the sound of it though, she wasn't too keen on waiting until suppertime to eat lunch.
The lady seemed a bit nervous about talking to him, though Jasper couldn't figure out why. So he decided to introduce himself. "I'm Jasper by the way. Jasper Powell." He gave her a big cheerful smile.

"Must be why they're so packed then," Niki replied. She wasn't very familiar with Aimes or its eating establishments. This had just been close to the market and she'd found it rather easily. Perhaps she should try looking further away for something a little less packed.
Her attention was drawn back to the young man as he introduced himself. "Oh, sorry. Nikiana Ledell. Guess I'm a little distracted today." She smiled. "I blame my stomach, which is not happy about the wait for here."

Jasper smiled again, he was glad to see that she was getting more comfortable with him. "Well, nice to meet you Nikiana." Jasper gave another soft chuckle at her comment about being hungry. "A hungry stomach is always to blame, isn't it?"
Jasper looked to the cafe for a moment and then turned back to Nikiana, "If you're interested, there's a food vendor down at the town square. It's not much compared to this nice little cafe, but he's got the best that I've ever had from a vendor." Jasper usually stops by at least once a week for a bite, twice if the guy orders a package or has one delivered. He was a nice man, a little quirky sometimes, but that's what made him funny.

The woman smiled a bit, relaxing a bit more. She wasn't much on actively meeting new people, but she didn't mind it in a one-on-one setting. Throw her in a party of unfamiliar people, though, and she'd be tailing it out of there rather quickly! She was just too much of an introvert! Except when it came to kids. They were just too cute and innocent.
Her blue eyes lit up at Jasper's suggestion. "Now that sounds like the best idea I've heard all day." Her stomach loudly rumbled its agreement which made the woman blush a bit.

Jasper laughed at her exuberant response. "I guess you're really hungry then. Alright, let's go then." Jasper took a few steps in the direction of the town square. "It's down this way."
As he led the way to the town square, he looked overr at Nikiana, "So, do you work in the market?"

Niki blushed a bit more, but she was indeed hungry, so she wasn't going to run off. Not if he knew a good place to eat that wasn't going to take a year to get food! She bit at her lower lip for a moment and was glad he'd spoken as she hadn't realized he'd taken a few steps. She quickly caught up to him.
Shaking her head, Niki explained, "Not usually. This time of year, I travel and set up booths in various places during market days and festivals. I sell scarves and gloves and other knitwear."
She glanced at her guide for a moment. He certainly seemed familiar with the area. "I'm guessing you're from around here."

Jasper slowed down for a short moment to let Nikiana catch up. Then he listened to her as she told him how she worked as a traveling apparel maker. "Oh that's neat. Maybe I'll stop by when I'm not busy and check out your merchandise."
Jasper looked more directly at Nikiana when she assumed he lived in town. He took a short breath before starting, "Well yeah, i do live around here; have all my life. But I wasn't born here, my parents sent me here to live with my aunt and uncle."
