Hot tea, sticky sweet pastries, and a night alone. They had leftovers at the shop tonight and so she offered to take them, loading the tea into 2 cups and putting the pastries in a bag. Harm was carrying that bag and tray toward home knowing that her mother and stepfather were out on a date and her bratty older brother was no where to be seen. Even if he came home she doubted he'd bother her. He never did. He didn't seem to often know anyone else was alive.

She heard something off to her right, chancing to glance over that way. Whatever it was was tall, and white, and bloody. She came closer and saw it was what she knew to be a senshi but what it a good one or a bad one? Part of her shrank back without knowing but the other part of her, the decent human being, wanted to care for a fellow human being. He had buttwings.

"Um, excuse me. You look kind of hurt. You might be part of the Negaverse, or whatever, but if you want I can help you."

She stepped into the light, moving toward him. It was a huge conundrum to walk toward him knowing he might be part of the faction that killed her but somehow, she didn't think so. She certainly had no idea that this was her stepbrother. Now it was particularly handy that her parents were on a date though now her plans had certainly changed.

"Um...maybe if you want to come home with me we can take care of this. It doesn't look good. My mom and stepdad are out and I have a brother but he's...well, he's usually gone in one sense or another."

If they kept to the basement there was zero chance of being spotted.

Wet from rain, dirty from a building falling almost on top of him, and bleeding from an injury to his side, Chaonis was not in the best mood he had ever been in. When he heard a voice he at first thought it might be Navi again, and the thought actually came like a balm. The soothing nature of the idea was quickly washed away when the back of his head kicked him and reminded him that he would feel her power signature.

She had left, though he was sure he'd see her again.

Instead, he was looking at someone else that he did, in fact, recognize. But it just made his mood fall further. The very last thing he wanted or needed right now was his stepsister hassling him. Not that she knew who he was, but was that any better?

He doubted it would stop her.

"Why should I trust you?" he grunted moodily, but to be fair he was in a lot of pain. And a jerk. He watched her, leaning on a wall since he had stopped moving and it would take him some extreme effort to get moving again.

"Or more like it, why should you trust me?" He was no Chaos agent, but if she didn't know that then why was she offering to take him back to her house. His house. That would put their whole family in danger, if she made a habit of it.

"I don't see anyone else offering to help you."

She was giving him ground for being hurt which was a courtesy she'd never allow her older stepbrother. Harm tried to do the right things in her life but, especially at times like this, it was not always very easy. She set the bag and tray down on a convenient trashcan and moved over to him, looking closer at where the blood was coming from.

"If you wanna bleed to death that's your choice."

Harm shrugged as if she didn't care and that it didn't mean anything to her but it did. She cared whether he was alright or whether he lived or died no matter which side he was on because she had a better regard for life than that. She didn't know how serious the injury actually was but it looked bad enough that she didn't want to find out the bad way.

"There's tea in these cups and really yummy crumbly brown sugar things in the bag. I'll share them with you. If you're worried about my family, don't be. If we stick to the basement no one will find you. No one goes down there. It's my studio."

Everyone in the world could be bribed with pastries, right?

Chaonis frowned at her. He hadn't had the time to call someone, though he was sure he could get someone out there to help him if they were powered up. He was stubbornly trying to get himself home on his own, because his pride had taken even damage for one day.

It was very slow going, however.

He sighed and imagined he had no real choice anyway. He couldn't tell her no and then show up at the house later. She'd flip her s**t. He needed to keep things secret and for now his hand was being forced.

"Alright, fine," he grunted.

He was hungry anyway, and he wasn't sure she would share with him if he was powered down and at home. And he probably wouldn't let her, anyway, so he would just have to steal them and that was a hassle now that he was sporting an injury he would have to hide. He watched her, pretending not to know the way back, though he wouldn't let her help him walk.

That pride thing again.

The funny thing about all of this was that Harm was just doing what was in her nature to do. She wanted to love her brother and make him part of the family, as her mother did, but he was not forthcoming with his affection or trust. At least she could still do some good. She tried to help as best she could though he wasn't making that easy and wended toward home. Once they got there she poked her head inside and called out for her parents first. Then for her brother.

"Nathan?"

Not that he'd answer if she called but possibly a grunt of annoyance would come her way from his room or from the living room. When nothing happened she helped him inside and closed the door, not knowing his power signature could be felt, followed, and that the house would be in danger. Thankfully his aura was strong - buttwing strong.

"The basement's down here."

She flicked a switch and took him down into the only space in this house that truly felt like her own. The basement was dark, yes, and sometimes dank and drafty but she kept it as clean and dry as possible. She shivered and flicked on a heater. Pointing to a couch on the wall Harm shifted.

"Sit down on there. I'm going to get supplies. I'll be right back. Have some tea if you want it."

The teen slipped back upstairs grabbing everything she thought she'd need to tend to him and even brought down some leftover meatloaf from a night or two before. She was overcompensating a little, maybe, but clearly she was a bit freaked out and only trying to help. As she dropped most of her booty onto the couch the girl sighed. This was a little intimidating and awkward.

"I'll need you to take off the armor and...your shirt."

Nathan was standing behind her, though he had no impulse to answer her when she called out to him. Since he wouldn't have, anyway, so there was no trouble there. He at least knew the house was empty.

He followed her inside, pretending he didn't know where they were going.

Dogby came barking up to them, wagging her stump of a tail and whining at Harmony for attention. She went to Chaonis, too, but only because he was a person and she treated everyone with the same. She gave up after a bit when no one cast her a glance, padding off into the kitchen for some food.

Chaonis sat down and sighed, holding his injury and waiting for her to get back. He did not want to be babied by anyone, least of all her. Hell, he would have just as soon had Navi over despite the risks, if he had known it would come down to this. He watched Harm as she walked in, then scoffed.

"I am not taking off my armor. It doesn't matter, just clean up if you want to." He saw the meatloaf and remembered it from when they'd had it for dinner. It was actually pretty good. "I can't stay here long, bad guys will feel my energy and come sniffing."

Harmony didn't understand it but then again it wasn't her world so she had to let it be. If he was paranoid she'd let him be. Truth be told if he was going to be chased she didn't want him tracked down by the bad guys to her house to put their entire family at risk. Funny she hadn't thought of that before. But then again she hadn't known they could feel one another before.

It seemed so horrendously complicated.

"um..ok."

She let him eat and tended to what she could, cleaning the wound and wrapping it as best she was able so at least the bleeding slowed if not stopped altogether. It would still hurt and was still dangerous and knowing what Harmony knew she figured that even superheroes could not afford that for very long. Either he had a high estimation of himself or a low estimation of the wound. Probably both.

"You should go to a doctor. You might need stitches."

There was a fat chance of that happening but she said it anyway. She'd done all she could do and Dogby was upstairs waiting to be petted and let outside to go potty. She was a good little dog but could only hold it so long. She wished she knew whether or not he was one of the ones that helped her in space but her eyes had been mostly on Camelot.

He grunted his response to her concern.

She was probably right. But he couldn't get to a doctor until he was able to power down and hide himself, and he couldn't do that while he was in his house with her watching him. Which meant he would have to leave again and get things sorted that way.

And he didn't even want to go to a hospital.

He sighed and looked at the now empty plate, then at the make shift dressing she had given his wound. He supposed she had not needed to help him, and she had no idea who he really was. She was taking a lot of risk, taking care of him, and he probably should not have been letting her do so.

Great, now he felt guilty on top of everything else.

"I should go. I don't want any Nega dicks coming in here looking for a fight, and busting up your home."

And he didn't want to put her in danger, because she was kinda family. And that was important to a lot of people, so he might as well buy into it, too, right? Right. He was bad with emotions, even privately. They just felt like some kind of risk he was not willing to take.

Harmony didn't particularly want anyone in the Negaverse busting up her home, either. This was ironic seeing as she was the only one in her family not to be involved in this war on a combative level but at least they were all on the side of Order. Not that she knew that, of course.

When he stood so did she. At least it was bound and he'd eaten something. She didn't want to see him go out into the night again but she didn't have much of a choice. He wasn't just going to tell her who he was.

"Alright," she nodded. "Please promise me you'll take care of this."

What she meant was taking care of the wound by seeing a doctor but that wasn't what she said expressly because she wasn't thinking about her wording, only the intention. Harm took his hand and squeezed it, smiling at him trustingly. Then she went upstairs to check to see if it was still safe, calling for her parents or for Nathan and getting no response. Luck seemed to be on her side.

"It's safe. You can go."

"Yeah," he grunted. He held his hand to his side, though he felt a little better now. Food and a bit of rest certainly helped. He had to go out and figure out what to do with himself now.

and how to hide himself while he was recovering, so his father and new step mom would not find him and hassle him about getting hurt. Or come up with a good story for what happened, in case they did catch him limping around.

He'd figure it all out. If he felt like it. Or he'd walk out into the front yard, power down, and walk right back in. Whatever, at this point.

He would have to be nice to her, or something, though, for her help. He felt a small ping of guilt but he was not very good at saying thank you so he was not really able to tell her that directly. He waved over his shoulder once she said it was safe for him to go and he did just that.

Once he was outside he took a breath, then climbed his way onto the roof. He found a nice, hidden spot and powered down, then opted to take a nap up there. Since he was there anyway, and did not want to climb his way down again.
