kami
Zeffer was almost running back to the starting place after finally having toddled down to the delivery company. The blueblood's only saving grace was that he was chock full of energy, because if it were any other way he might have keeled over by then. Even he had to admit that not having Arcus around was much slower going, and it was a vague annoyance to him. He shouldn't have been so adamant about him staying home this time. At any rate, he arrived at the spot he and Aprife had run into Byakko, hoping to see at least one of them around. How had they fared at gathering information? He would find out soon enough. He nibbled on the inside of his lip and tried not to feel too troubled over what he himself had learned.

mea
Byakko had been seated off under the shadow of a tree, waiting for one of the two boys she had teamed up with to show up. Stretching her stubby limds as she stood, Akko half heartedly waved over at Zeffer. She had finished much faster than expected; against her expectations, the shady merchant hadn't been terribly hard to find. Not that... his? her? information was very handy in the first place. She supposed his blood colour was helpful; a blueblood, (figures, it was ALWAYS a ******** blueblood), but blue was a large caste... was he a higher, deeper navy or a cyan just straddling teal? The slight change in hue could mean all the difference in where he lived and socialized. The merchant primarily seemed focused on his impressive weight, though...

Picking up her miniature kanabo, Akko trotted lightly over to the highblood and gave him a slight nod in greeting. "Find anything useful?" She asked flatly, straight to the point as always.

sae
Meeting that green-blooded journalist had been a treat, if only because Aprife had been so looking forward to it. The fact that she practically brushed him off without giving him time to dig for more info was the only downside. But he supposed, as he scuttled back to where he and his miniature teammates had promised to meet again, that's the way it had to be. Other trolls had likely been bothering her all night, he realized. If he had gone earlier in the evening maybe they could have had a more in depth conversation.

As it was, at least he had gotten something. That lead was enough to help the investigation going for now. Jogging up on the meeting spot, Bumbs finally buzzing on his own behind the yellowblood, Aprife spotted both Zeffer and Byakko already on site. And probably already getting down to business. He grinned and waved as he closed the distance, calling out. "Hey guys, hope you got something good!"

kami
It took him a moment to finally spy one of his companions, but when he caught sight of Byakko waving he scurried over quickly. "Akkooooooo." he called, his steps making his voice uneven as he trotted over, laughing and panting as he tried to catch his breath. "Yeah! I mean...I guess so. I found something. I dunno if it's good, really..." he rubbing the back of his head, just as Aprife called out. He jerked his head up and waved back, gesturing for the yellowblood to come over. "Hey Aprife! Hurry up, you slow a**, Akko beat us back!" he cackled, and waited for his friend to arrive before revealing the tidbit of information he'd squeezed out of the lowblooded delivery troll he'd tracked down.

"I dunno if I like this at all, but...the guy who delivered the package to me said that the letters and the bottles were all shipped from...Chittentown." he made a face at the word, as if he'd just smelled something awful. "I...I don't wanna go back to the desert, man. Somebody tell me we don't have to..."

mea
Akko sighed to herself as Zeffer chittered on in his excited way; once more lifting a hand limply in greeting, this time to Aprife. She seemed pleased with Zeffer's information, at least he hadn't come back empty handed! Aprife hadn't either, and after swapping stories they seemed to be making decent progress, at least for the start of their search. Any and all information was essential, even the most minuscule tidbit could prove to be immensely useful.

As soon as Zeffer's face crumpled at the word Chittentown, it hit her. That's where Akko knew them from- they had been two of the new recruits during the whole Mother Grub crisis. The Jadeblood crisis, more like... Akko swallowed a lump of guilt in her throat, but remained stoic. "I don't think we should be heading off anywhere quite just yet." she said slowly, scanning the two boys over as if she had never layed her orange eyes on them before. Yes, she saw it now... add some height, a few sweeps on their face, and she saw it. Why hadn't she seen it earlier? Deciding it was better to try and let the topic die, she spoke up once more. "Maybe we should look around the city some more."

sae
All it took was the tone in Zeffer's voice to make his own expression drop. The desert did still bring back some unwanted memories. Though at least he could say, when he looked hard enough, it wasn't all bad. There had been a few good experiences mixed in with the distasteful. That didn't mean he thought it was a good idea to send Zeffer off to Chittentown alone. "Naw, man, Byakko's right. There are still way too many places to look here in the city. The journalist pointed me to the library so I can check that out and-" The yellowblood trailed off in that instant, turning away from his friend in time to see the tealblood giving them both a look. He was observant enough to pick it up, and something told him not to try and crack the smile he usually would, so he simply bit at the inside of his mouth and stared back.

She was not completely unfamiliar, either. He'd even realized it when they first met. Still, Aprife didn't think much of it, and she started up again before he could dwell. Now he was simply nodding in response to what she'd said. "Yeah just… Maybe there's a place around the city where people from Chittentown might go?" That sounded pretty vague, but maybe there was something they could get in New Hemisect that they couldn't get back home.

kami
Zeffer made a short, throaty noise of protest, even though his friends were reassuring him. He surprised even himself at how emotional the memory still made him feel, and he huffed softly, nodding some. He hadn't thought much about that nasty business since becoming a kid, but the new information had caused it to come flooding back. The whole affair with the shady rebels and their ill-fated trek into the desert. In his slight distress, he didn't catch Byakko looking at him, nor did he even seem to notice the very obvious visual hints that pointed to the fact that he'd met her once before. He was too distracted by everything else, by the task at hand most importantly. "Yeah...that's a good idea." he sniffled, and looked around, his brow furrowing in thought. Where would be a good place to ask around next? As Aprife mentioned the library, an idea came to mind.

"Hey, there's a restaurant across from the library, if I remember right. Maybe I could go there and ask around. Then we'd have each other's backs." he grinned, glancing between the two. He didn't know where Byakko could go, though, and began to think once more.

mea
Akko wrung her hands together behind her back, staring blankly back and forth between the males in her trademark way. She honestly hadn't- couldn't have!- anticipated them actually killing Aendal. Or maybe it was her first major mistake as a leader. The corner of Akko's lip twitched as the latter word crossed her mind. Regardless of her internal struggle over the matter, she dreaded the day she had to stand once more before the 'rebels'. It wasn't gunna be pretty. Byakko's mouth pressed even more firmly into a line as her gaze shifted once more between the two. Would they find out...? Doubtful, not at this point anyways. What would happen when they did? Pushing problems for later into the corner of her mind, Akko cleared her throat.

"I'll check out New Hemisect City Park," she began, eyes dropping to the ground. Byakko always had heard great things about the publicly open grounds; it was one of the city's most popular attractions and was only a block from the Library. "I've been meaning to check it out anyways." She shrugged her shoulders loosely- seemed like a solid plan to her.

sae
Of course, Aprife would always be Aprife, and so it was quite apparent to him the way those eyes continued to flicker back and forth between himself and his other companion. It didn't mean much, though, not with the way Byakko was able to hide her thoughts behind that constantly steady expression. It kept his attention for only a moment before he dismissed it as her simply paying heed to the entire group. "Alright, sounds like a plan to me," he agreed with a grin. "Everybody's gotta eat. And I bet there's no way Chittentown has anything like the park. I'd definitely visit if I could." Ah, the park. How wonderful a place it was for snooping. For a split second he regretted claiming the library, where he would have to be, he shuddered…. QUIET.

Speaking of quiet (or lack there of), Bumblesuckle buzzed right in his ear, far too tired of flying again, and tried to land on his shoulder once more. "Where do you guys wanna meet up after that?" he was quick to shoo those thoughts, and his lusus, away. The library was his to explore and at least he could sneak around bookshelves like a beast stalking its prey. Yeah, Aprife did have fun being nosy. There was no denying that. "We could probably walk over together this time, too. The park's not too far from the library and that diner."

"The park's great. I bet someone there'll know somethin'." Zeffer said as he rocked back on his heels, sort of eager to get going again. Playing detective was fun, and he hoped to get some better info at the diner. At the sound of Bumbs buzzing, he reached over to poke at the large bee, curious, until Aprife asked his question. He pulled his hand away and grinned.

"Why don't we all meet up at the park afterward? It's close enough, and it'll be a nice place to talk about whatever we find..." Zeffer said, stretching.

Akko kept the yellowblood's lusus locked in her peripheral vision, although truthfully he didn't seem like much of a threat. But phobias just worked like that; even if Bumblesuckle seemed small and fluffy and harmless that didn't mean he neccisarily was. The mutant felt her neck hairs prickle as Aprife's lusus buzzed loudly and wobbled about- but nothing more came of it. Her throat vibrated briefly with a barely audible growl, before turning her attention fully once more to her companions.

"Let's get moving, then!" She commanded, pointing wildly in the direction they were all headed in, at least for the time being. The three pint sized trolls started to make their way through town, weaving in and out of their larger counterpart's legs. "The park sounds like a good rendezvous to me," Akko said, ducking around a large cart being pulled by a greenblood. "I'll already be there anyway." She added with a shrug, looking over at her companions.

The indignant buzz he received for dismissing his lusus kept Aprife from voice his assent for a moment. It looked like the bee was getting tired and agitated, ready to lay down and nap. Unlike the young trolls he was chaperoning, he didn't find adventure all that appealing. "Sounds like a good idea." At least he was able to get that quick addition in before the blueblood's poke had Bumb's humming even louder. The startled bee fluttered around Zeffer momentarily, until the hand finally retreated and he seemed pleased, like he had won some kind of unspoken competition.

That air of pride remained with him as he took a seat on his charge's head and the group started off on their trek. It was still pretty strange, having to walk with extra care again to avoid being stepped on. Even the buildings were less familiar from this angle, but he still noticed things he'd seen before the closer they got to the library. "You think if we really find this guy he'll have a fix for this?" It was hard for him to stay quiet. Asking questions was in his nature.
