Alyssia had wondered away from Serah, despite her lack of actually wanting to be away from the vampyre, especially in a place that she didn't know of at all. Fiery eyes darted to and fro as she tried to take in her surroundings, everything from the small cracks in the streets, to the colors of the buildings and the areas that seemed to have faded some from age. There were shops that had flowers inside and out, others that seemed to have some other sorts of plants sitting in the windows, along with restaurants where scents drifted from the sometimes open, sometimes closed doors. Drawing her arms up and twisting her fingers together she pressed them to her chest and nervously glanced about. She really hadn't seen anyone yet, but that didn't mean that she wasn't being watched by someone or maybe something from inside of one of the many buildings.
With a slight shiver she continued on her way, every once in a while finding a pebble that she'd kick along until it'd roll into the road or until it fell into a crack in the sidewalk. To her it was a little chilly, and though she didn't too terribly mind the cold, she was alone at the moment so it made it completely unpleasant, often bringing up memories of her time wandering alone. However it wasn't enough to bring her to tears, despite how frightened she was at not knowing or understanding where she was. Granted, it did look like the kind of town she had wandered in the days she had been alone, and it should have made it easier on her, which maybe in small ways it did, making her remember where not to stray, but honestly, it wasn't enough to calm her nerves.
"Serah...where are you?"She whimpered quietly, finally pausing and dropping into a crouch with her back to the wall of one of many shops. She didn't bother looking behind her to see what kind it was or anything, too worried to bother doing so. Alyssia turned her fiery gaze to the concrete sidewalk in front of her and watched the ants walking along the cool surface, some carrying crumbs, others nothing at all as they made their way back to their queen. She decided to sit there and wait for her, instead of wandering aimlessly through a town she knew nothing about. After all it was probably for the best if she did so, since it gave less chance of getting lost or making it more difficult for the vampyre to find her. ______________________________________________________________ ╔══════════════╗ Auroras make circumstance, In the solitude of our life, Pleading silent arias gently grieving in captive misery Darkness sings a violent song Yet our hope can still rise up

It was the smell that bothered her the most. It had been in the woods surrounding the town, but out there it seemed more natural, fitting even. Having the stench all over town was driving her mad. No matter how hard she tried she couldn't figure out what it was. Every time she got close another smell, similar but no quite the same would distract her. Which was why she didn't notice Alyssia gone till she turned around to ask her if she sensed anything. For a few moments she just stared at the empty air behind her where her young companion should be, willing her to appear. She couldn't believe she'd lost her like this. Normally, she was always aware of where the small child was even if she was out of sight, but now she had no idea of how long she'd been missing. Clenching her fist in frustration as a gust of wind blew the horrible smell in her direction. Grimacing, she decided to ignore it for now, instead focusing on finding Alyssia.
She strained her ears trying to hear Alyssia's heartbeat. If she had wandered away, or been left behind, not to long ago then she should be able to hear her, but she was getting nothing. How long has she been gone? They had gotten into town at dawn and it was still early morning so it couldn't have been to awful long. Sighing, Serah started retracing her steps, scenting the air every so often to try and figure out where she had lost her. After a while, she finally found it almost halfway across town from where she was earlier. The only problem was that it was stale and getting jumbled with the strange scent. Clenching her fists, she started walking, planning on scanning the area to see if she was still nearby. She had gone a few steps when she heard a her heartbeat. Relaxing, she followed the sound.
It didn't take long for her to find Alyssia sitting against a wall in the middle of the side walk. Nothing seemed outwardly wrong as far as Serah could tell. "Are you okay?" Serah asked, looking down at Alyssia.

【Yang Kaido】❝ The world will know my anger... ❞ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━xx
The store owner handed the man the bag respectfully. He was a regular customer that came in, no trouble, silent, and seemingly docile. It was because this store and all of the like had nothing to do with the life he led in the world that he knew. As he moved towards the exit he got a few looks, glances from interested parties, jealous men trying to contain their women. From the outside looking in Yang would seem as if only some attractive face, His shirt just a few buttons from being obscene. The tattoo of a strange rose like plant creeping up his chest, the almost uncaring look upon his face.
His eyes suddenly tightened as he drew close to the exit however, a scent hit his nose. One he was quite familiar with in his travels. Vampyre. He hadn't sensed this in quite some time but he was sure this was the scent. Lucky for him he was in a bakery, the scent of bread would waft out with him. Their sense of smell couldn't be as keen as that of an animal such as himself.
By his sense of smell he managed to locate them as two girls sitting outside of the shop. Reaching into the bag he cracked the sealed lid on the bread and as he stepped out into the light he placed a cigarette into his mouth, the mixture of the scents was meant to confuse any creature that could detect by scent that wasn't as attuned as a wolf would be.
However the limits of Yang's outlook on life wouldn't stop there. There were Vampyres in his town, he wanted to know why. The cig held casually in his mouth he walked over to where the first girl was sitting her back against the building and crouched placing his arms over his bent knees, his hands hanging down lazily, his right containing the bag emanating the smell of freshly baked sweets. There was a second girl tending to the first almost as if they had just found each other. Only one of these two was a Vampyre, the other's scent was entirely different, almost alarming in a way, he couldn't tell which just yet, all the scents of the city and the mixtures that he had provided were a burden to even his own nose.
"Oi, what are two little girls doing out here in this weather? You'll catch cold."
He stated easily and smoothly.

Lifting her gaze and peering around her, she felt herself coming close to tears, but refused to let them fall. She would not cry, she would not. A familiar voice pulled her away from her thoughts and when her gaze landed on the Vampyre she had been traveling with, a mixture of joy and barely suppressed fear ran together, making the tears escape her anyways.
Slowly, Alyssia reached her hand up, attempting to grasp the others in her own, when suddenly the sound of a door opening reached her and an odd smell filled the air. Of course her sense of smell was mostly human, only slightly better due to the fact that she wasn't quite one, so she couldn't actually catch the real scent of the man who seemed to slowly approach her and Serah. In fact, she had never actually smelled cigarette smoke before, well, at least, never so close, and it stung her nose and lungs, making her look slightly away from him when he crouched in front of her.
She didn't like strangers, refused to speak to them, though it wasn't necessarily that she was afraid of having them near her. Simply put, she trusted no one but Serah, and the idea that this oddly dressed man with the flower tattoo approached and started to talk to them as though he knew them, made her want to run so she didn't have to deal with him. Instead she moved closer to Serah and clung to her arm, pressing her face into it and closing her eyes. She then remembered that the vampyre had asked her a question.
"I'm alright, Sorry for worrying you."She whispered quietly, one of her eyes slipping open slightly so that she could look at the man in front of her again, her fiery gaze locked on his face, a slightly cold look in her eyes as she watched to see what he would do. ______________________________________________________________ ╔══════════════╗ Auroras make circumstance, In the solitude of our life, Pleading silent arias gently grieving in captive misery Darkness sings a violent song Yet our hope can still rise up

The door clicking shut vaguely registered in her mind, but she was to focused on Alyssia to bother with it. Only looking up for a moment as the man approached. There was nothing alarming about him at first, but she felt like something was off. Sniffing, all she got was smoke, bread, and the strange smell that was everywhere. Which made her wonder if he was the source or not. It drove her mad that she couldn't scent anything in this town without it being tainted and there was nothing else irregular about him. She still didn't relax though.
Serah watched silently as he bent down to Alyssia’s level and tried to talk to her. As usual, Alyssia ignored him, replying to her question instead. It was one of the many things she liked and hated about the child, not that she was the most outgoing person either. It was something, they'd both been working on. Maybe she sensed something? Serah wondered, glancing between the child and the stranger. Gently, she nudged Alyssia behind her before turning to address the stranger.
“We’re fine,” she stated, looking down at him.
It was then that she noticed the strange tattoo. She had never seen anything like it before. Making a mental note to look it up later in case it meant something.
“Now, excuse me, but I have business to attend to,” she said, grabbing Alyssia's hand. There was no way she was losing her again. Carefully, she started pulling the child in the direction of the apartments she pasted earlier, making sure she was keeping a pace that she could easily keep up with. Hopefully the man would not try to follow them. The apartments were only a few blocks away and she would need one. She didn't plan on leaving till she found out what was going on. As long as Alyssia was fine with it that is.

【Yang Kaido】❝ The world will know my anger... ❞ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━xx
Yang observed the little girl's reaction to him. It was a cold ignoring but telling all at the same time. She did not react like a child, meaning she did have some experiences which caused a quick maturation. However she also did not react cooly enough to respond which implied maturation but not experience. Meaning... thought Yang as he looked up to the other just as she responded. It had to be her. It could only beg the question of what the girl sitting could possibly be, but that was a mystery for another time. They seemed to want nothing to do with him. Probably a wise decision.
As the smaller mystery girl began being pulled away Yang stood allowing the crowds around him to pass him harmlessly, just before he was to be lost within it he raised a single hand palm facing the leaving girls and pulled in his fingers repeatedly in a friendly almost childish sort of wave as he stated in a kind voice smiling.
"Bye bye..."
The first glance would seem harmless enough, simply an aloof male waving. However as people passed in front of him, as he was to blend into the crowd the smile he bore seemed to twist and contort. The last flash of him in the crowd would be his red eyes and sharp fangs brought into a sinister smirk. Near as soon as this could be noticed however, a person would pass in front of him and as they did the man seemed to vanish, as if he were never there at all.

Usually the girl didn't spare even a small look for the people who tried to talk to her, other then Serah of course, but this time, her nerves got the better of her and she turned her gaze back over her shoulder towards where the man had been standing. As her fiery eyes locked onto the strange male, she felt the smallest trickle of fear seep into her heart, and she found herself wanting to cry because something about the way he seemed to just vanish into the crowd bothered her, but she was too young to really grasp and exact reason for that feeling.
Quickly she turned her gaze forward, her breathing quick from the worry and fear that had managed to find it's way into her heart from the odd run in. It was strange, the fact that she was actually scared of a stranger, because usually she handled it as she had when face to face with the giant of a man. Coldly and without care for them. Alyssia shut her eyes tightly and tightened her grip on Serah's hand just a little, her breathing slowing back to what it usually was, though now it seemed her breath had become a little more visible. Yeah it was chilly out, enough so that one could see their breath at least a little, but hers was a lot more noticeable as the glass of a window they were walking by seemed to slowly become covered in a paper thin coating of frost as they passed.
Of course the child didn't notice this as she tried to keep her pace even with Serah's while her eyes were shut, nor did she notice that she was actually the source of the frost on the window. It probably wasn't enough to make Serah believe that it was coming from her either, though this time it wasn't as unnoticeable as it had been the first time her abilities had flared up in front of the vampyre. Then it had just been small ice spirits taking the form of the tiny fluttering insects, and could easily have been blamed on something else, since it could have been anything or could have come from anywhere in the odd forests they had traveled through to get here.
However, if one were to be on the inside of the shop where the ice had begun to lightly coat the window, they would have experienced a rather impossible to blame on nature swarm of the frozen spirits fluttering around wildly. They didn't last long, or remain nearly as long as the others had, quickly fading as they ran into the walls or flew threw a candle, or perhaps too close to a light, since they weren't supplied by nearly as much fear as they had been the first time though. Alyssia slid her eyes open, trying to see where her friend was taking her, and attempting to push aware her feeling of nervousness.
"Where are we going, Serah? When can we rest?"She asked softly, her voice making it obvious that she was becoming exhausted. In fact, Alyssia couldn't even remember the last time they had stopped for rest, or at least, real rest anyways. She could feel herself getting tired, and she reached a hand up to rub at one of her eyes, slipping it closed as she carefully continued to try and keep up with Serah. ______________________________________________________________ ╔══════════════╗ Auroras make circumstance, In the solitude of our life, Pleading silent arias gently grieving in captive misery Darkness sings a violent song Yet our hope can still rise up

Serah slowed down when she realized how tired Alyssia was. Normally, when the got into a town they would have a hotel within the first few hours, depending on how long it took to fine one. She felt bad that she had got distracted and left the girl all alone, without a safe place to rest.
"I'm sorry. We're going to get an apartment. You'll be able to rest then. Is that okay?"
Not that her answer would change her course of action. She was still getting an apartment no matter what she said. There was jut too much that set her off in this town and it would drive her mad to just leave without knowing. She had down enough of that back home.
She looked back at Alyssia and noticed she was almost asleep. How she had managed to stay upright was a mystery.
"Do you want me to carry you?"she asked, stopping.
