 Nascien was near the forest. It was late in the day and most of the night crawlies were just waking up. Nascien thought this time of night was rather beautiful and a little creepy but just enough to give one the tingles when they looked into the shadows of the forest's depths.

 Shi No Kin yawned as he lazily inspected his surroundings. He was bored. There wasn't much to do... Eventually his gaze landed on a brightly-colored horse. That was different. He hadn't seen the colt around before. Shi silently launched himself from the branch he was hanging from to glide over to the Azrien. He latched onto the colt's mane, hanging lightly from it. Free ride!

Nascien blinked. Bat.
"Well hello" He said. The creature was lucky he wasn't spooky at all. Otherwise he would have been in for a bumpy trip. "Fancy the night life do you?" He asked conversationaly. He then realized who exactly he was talking about. "I mean of course you do." Nascien tilted his head back and winked. "My name is Nascien, Fair be the night for you."

Shi No Kin blinked at how calm and friendly this colt was. Most would buck at the first sight of him. He resisted the urge to roll his eyes at the Azrien's conversation starter. "... I'm Shi No Kin. Fair be the night for you as well." His voice wasn't much more than a mutter; he wasn't usually conversational this early in the night. Still, Nascien had him curious. "Aren't your kind usually asleep by now?"

"Most of the time yes, I didn't feel like sleeping tonight." It was cool and wonderful out here, his hooves met with soft moss and the trees loomed over him with a steady sheltering presence. "My brother had no such qualms I don't think."

Shi No Kin nodded his understanding. "I take it your brother is a deep sleeper, then." He paused before asking Nascien, "... Is... something bothering you?" That's what usually kept people up, right? Worries?

"What usually bothers me. Nothing unusual. My other brother and sister were taken by my grandfather, And I haven't seen them since then. I want to know how they are, if I need to save them, help them, support them.. you know."

"... Then why don't you go and find them?" It seemed simple to Shi. Find the siblings, erase the worries. It couldn't be that hard to locate them, right?

Ah. That was right. The Azrien were warring between themselves. "I see." Shi thought quietly for a minute before giving a suggestion. "Maybe... I could help you." The Azrien wouldn't bother a small night creature like him. "I can't really help with getting stronger, but... maybe I could help you prepare."

"I could be your vanguard." Shi peered up at Nascien. "The war boundaries do not affect me, so I could go and gather information for you while you train." Splitting the efforts. Nascien could focus on getting stronger, and Shi could collect the information the Azrien would need once he began his search.

Shi shrugged. "I can't think of any real want I have at the moment." Everything he needed he already had and most of the things he wanted were needs. And several of the others would be fulfilled in this offered assistance. "... Well..." Maybe there was something. "I'd like to stick with you after this is done, if you don't mind." Being on his own was fine, but it got boring after a while...
