The sight of a dark elf like boil was a curious thing. Curious for Frost in any case. Dark elves were not common, and they fell all over the spectrum in terms of race and species. This one- this one Frost was not sure. He'd never seen the boil before but it was worth merit to ask him if he'd shared any lore. The shadow son, he of the mirror was rumored to have been a dark elf, the polar to the green one. So, when he saw the boil, (he'd vanished a few times here and there, a most curious thing), Frost took the initiative. "Good day." Simple greeting, the ghost bowed slightly. His tail might have swayed a bit. "I'm Frost in the Storm ah-" he held out a hand. "Might you be new here?"

Rosito didn't know anything of the one who had been watching him, but then, it seemed he was trying to go as unnoticed as he could. When he thought he caught an eye or two, he immediately slipped back into the shadows, blending back into the crowd and going back to his business of ignoring everything he could. It probably wasn't the wisest plan for a newbie boil who probably should have been getting to know his surroundings, but it some ways, he preferred the silence to the alternative, not wanting to deal with questions and other such things that might bring what he was trying to hide to light.
He was paranoid, yes. Paranoia came naturally when someone spent most of their spare time hiding from people.
It was perhaps why he saw Frost coming before he was there, but he had already been spotted and it was, unfortunately, far too late to find a place to vanish off to. The monster was already there, already wagging his tail and asking if he was new. No point in acting suspicious. He probably just wanted to be nice to the new student. That was all. No big deal.
Rosito cleared his throat, before offering a small bow in turn. Was that correct? Everyone had so many different greetings he wasn't always sure how to best blend in. "I am Rosito." He bit his tongue slightly, before nodding. "And I am new. I was just looking around."
For as calm as his voice sounded, he seemed rather jittery, his foot bouncing uncontrollably as he listened.

The body language gave away enough, and combined with a natural predator’s instinct of when things were likely to simply run… Nervousness was common enough in the newer students, and Frost didn’t mind it, only treated it with less invasiveness. Or tried to at any rate. He was by no means a social expect but he iked to think he was polite and had a bit of tact and skill here and there in social groups. The wolfos had come a long way from scarentines after all. “Rosito. A pleasure. I have seen you here and there but I’ve not had a chance to speak to you.” He was trying to not seem creeper like but, it was hard to miss the boil and not be curious. “It’s ah… not common for me to see one who resembles one of the dark. Er, dark elves that is. My people have a bit of lore associated with them and the green one. A bit of ah, a hero? He of the Mirror. Shadow Son. I am admittedly curious if you know such tales or… perhaps I assume too much. I’m a white wolfos of the north. Heir to the alpha. It it my duty to be knowing of such things."

It was good that Frost was playing along with what Rosito gave him... not that Rosito wasn't rather obvious with his nervousness. Still, the fact that Frost had seen him before seemed to alarm him, golden eyes widening a tad as he remarked on seeing him multiple times. Jackdammit, that meant he wasn't hiding as well as he thought he was. Perhaps he needed to brush up on his abilities a bit. If someone had been watching him for days, that meant he was significant enough to be noticed, and that was the exact opposite of what he was wanting. Dalaketnon blended in, and he wished to blend in, too.
Still, the assumption that he was something that he wasn't really caught his interest immediately. Was there something else he looked like? While the wolfos talked, he looked down to his hands and turned them over and back again, inspecting his skin. He was definitely dark, and he had heard of elves, at least--his ears were pointed very much like them. He could understand why the assumption would be made, and, admittedly, he was pleased it was. Perhaps he could play it off and pretend to be this kind of "dark elf" he spoke of, and throw him off, make sure that the wolfos didn't prod too far.
At the same time, this wolfos seemed to know his stuff. If he said he was a dark elf and the wolfos knew more about dark elves than he did, it would certainly be a troublesome problem. Perhaps he could suggest similarity? That could work, a good angle to take on without necessarily being full-on what the wolfos was expecting.
His alpha status did explain why he was prodding in curiosity, at least.
Rosito nodded patiently, listening as the wolfos spoke. He was silent for a few more moments, turning in thought, before he spoke up himself. "Ah, it is quite cold in the north... I suppose that explains why you are a wolfos." Awkwardly, Rosito shifted from foot to foot, rubbing a hand behind his neck. "What have you heard of the Shadow Son?"
Maybe he could prod for more details first.

Frost had only his nose, eyes and ears that could maybe had told him that what was in front of him was not a dark elf, but then he hadn’t really met one before. Aside from that one at Fright night. That one that he… he wasn’t sure. He wasn’t sure about that one at all. That one had seemed like the type to throw clay jars around. Where else was Frost supposed to keep his silver seeds? “Cold, but I call it home.” He sighed, missing the ice of true winter’s grasp. The light shifting of the boil had Frost giving him a bit more room. Perhaps he’d simply invaded the other’s personal space. “The Shadow Son… I take it you do not know of the legend then. It’s.. complex. And a bit long really. A story told from various ways through various timelines. But in general… The Shadow Son is the Polar to the Green One, killer of my kind and kin. Born of light and warmth, the green comes to steal what is ours, to slay us, right down to the youngest pup. The Shadow Son does not seek this, though if we stand in his path it is folly. He is the will of the End. The one who is forged from Darkness itself, the king of nightmares. Though he stands in opposition to the Goddesses, he too is a apart of us- Er, I am not boring you am I? I tend to ah… go on.” Ears went back to his skull, clearly embarrassed. “Old habit, I was trained to recite in certain ways. Even if I’d rather just avoid those lessons and work on snow shifting.”

It was probably reasonable to think that Frost had invaded Rosito's personal space. After all, Rosito's idea of personal space was a rather ... large circle around him, unless he was in a crowd, then he wanted it as tight as possible to avoid being noticed. He bit down on his lip a little as the wolfos backed himself up, still a bit fidgety despite. He seemed outright uncomfortable with the idea of being in conversation, and he probably was, eyes darting around when he thought Frost wasn't paying attention to find a way to get out of this quickly. He knew his stuff. He knew that Rosito didn't know the story so he probably wasn't a dark elf; jackdammit, that wasn't what he was hoping for, and now he would get discovered. He didn't want to be outed for what he really was so soon after arriving at Amityville.
Of course, fidgeting nervously was probably not going to help his case. He narrowed his eyes a bit. He knew his situation, and he knew how to work in situations. That was something his race was rather good at, wasn't it? Right. His eyes moved to focus on Frost as he talked, absorbing this story that he spoke of of the Shadow Son. Even if there was no way he could fake to Frost, perhaps he could use this later in some other attempt to fake to someone else.
He would need to start keeping track of who he told what.
When Frost asked if Rosito was bored, he shook his head no, keeping generally quiet. After a pause, figuring Frost might want a response, Rosito replied, "It's interesting, to hear of different stories." He caught the embarrassment, and even if he didn't necessarily want to step any closer, he seemed to understand it, aiming not to embarrass the wolfos in front of him anymore. "A lot of us have stories of dark sides of us versus the light sides of us. It's interesting to hear different interpretations of the stories. Does the Shadow Son oppose the Green?"
Asking questions would hopefully alleviate the embarrassment without revealing anything else about him. Right. Rosito shifted from foot to foot.

Head titled to the side as Frost tried to read the other student as best he could. Something that was proving exceptionally difficult. Frost wished to aid others, but if he was scaring students well then… this would not do. He didn’t want to put other students, especially new ones he’d never really seen before on edge as much as this one seemed to be. “Hm.” Frost didn’t move, remaining the comfortable distance away. “Stories are what allow us to keep cultures alive and thriving. They teach us without appearing do so. But yes, The Shadow Son opposes the green. He was created to do so. That is his purpose in a way, to be the opposition and hinder the progress of the Green, lest he cut all down and leave nothing untouched.” A low tilt of his head, red eyes scanned the student. “Forgive me, but I get the impression I have given you need to distrust me or that I have made you uncomfortable. If so, please tell me. I do not aim to cause offense or anxiety needlessly. Much less for a newer student.” He was honest, tail sinking lower as the wolfos attempted to appear less threatening. Which was… awkward for his posture at best.

Rosito wished he would just keep talking, really, paying plenty attention when the man was talking even if his eyes occasionally flicked one place or another. His thoughts were scanning over the words and categorizing them under something he would need to know if he were to claim to be a "dark elf." Against the Green, right. Green was a bit of an irritant to him anyway; it wasn't really a common color he saw, and he didn't enjoy things that he couldn't quite get himself used to. Greens were associated with nothing particularly good, anyway. Vegetables? Eh...
He opened his mouth to reply to Frost, but suddenly clamped it shut when asked if he was uncomfortable.
Well, crap.
He was trying to make himself look less threatening? Rosito shuffled his feet, suddenly looking to the floor. How could he get himself out of this one? He didn't like the pouty dog look. It just made everyone look sympathetic, but it wasn't his job to offer sympathy. Getting close to people was something he couldn't really afford if he was doing to stay hidden, and it might become obvious he was hiding something if he got too close. Or maybe he was just neurotic. He was probably neurotic.
He was definitely neurotic.
But that didn't stop his answer, anyway. "I'm not very good with the social thing." Nice excuse, Rosito. "I prefer being alone." Yes, because elaborating made it less awkward.
He was probably awkward.

Ah, well that was a good an explanation as any. Not a bad one, but it did clear a few things up. A slow breath and Frost nodded his head. “I see.” Looking around, the wolfos had to smile a bit at the idea he was one who wanted to be alone. “I am afraid that being by yourself in nearly impossible here. If I’d not come across you, some ghoul or boil would. If not them, a teacher. Or a minipet. Ah-“ she shook his head, “pardon, I don’t mean to sound negative, but it’s just a rather large school. Makes it easy to go unnoticed in some cases, easy in others. You’re a new student well… People notice these things I’m afraid. And truthfully, I don’t think you’re bad at the social thing. You just prefer what others do not. There is little wrong with that.” His tail flicked. “If you wish to avoid people, myself included, it’s best done on the school grounds. There are many spots where you can blend in with the scenery after all. Plus, it’s a little less odd than seeing you lurking in shadows if that makes sense?

Bigger crowds were easier to blend into, but somehow he currently stood out even more. Lovely... Perhaps he would need to find some other solutions to his dilemma. Were there ways to make him look like an older student? Perhaps if he wandered around enough to learn his way around the premises on his own--the worst thing would be to have him singled out via an orientation or ... something--he could look like he knew exactly what he was doing and therefore would not need to be picked up as someone who looked obviously "new." Or did people just know each other that well, on this campus? Being such a large school, he sincerely doubted that.
Shift, shift, shuffle, shift, it was a rather repetitive show of how uncomfortable he was, even if he kept himself where he was and listened to the advice Frost was offering. School grounds did seem like the easiest place not to get noticed. If so many people were busy going to their classes, a man as dark as the shadows was nothing worth picking out.
"Mm, someone with skin as dark as mine best blends where the shadows lurk." He glanced back to the shadows behind him, longing to go back there and simply hide there for the rest of the day, head down and eyes closed as he slipped into some other world. "But I suppose the shadows of the campus would be even less obvious. People, there, are too busy going about their classes or just going to the people whom they already consider friends. I would be of no significant importance."
Or so he hoped.
He had thought that the first time and he had gotten noticed, anyway...

The last bit had Frost balk. “No importance?” He shook his head. “Afraid I can’t understand that one. Every student is significant and important in their own way, or at least to someone. A better turn of phrase might be that you would not stand out from the others who reside in shadows. After all, many shadow beings live on campus as well. They all hold some significance.” Shuffling feet, eyes going to the shadows, Frost motioned to the snow. “I take to the snow when I do not wish to be seen. So I understand the desire to blend in. Hm, if you want to blend in… do not try so hard at it. When you appear to put all your effort into an act it becomes a part of a spectacle. The best way to blend in is to become a part of the student body rather than separate yourself from it.” He sighed trying to think if he was making sense. “I hadn’t seen you before, hence why I noticed you on occasion. A new face if more noticeable one I see in passing in the halls often enough. In being new, balancing how often you are seen and how often you go unseen will perhaps aid in this. What better place to hide after all in plain sight?”

Rosito didn't find himself of any significant importance, and it showed in his half-smiled response to Frost's attempt to make him feel better, but he then turned his head the other way, listening but watching something else entirely, or at least seeming to. Shadow beings could be as important as they wanted to be. It was his decision to be of no importance at all.
It was better that way. Then no one questioned him.
Hiding in plain sight, though, was an interesting idea. "Wouldn't being in public make me more likely to be spotted by those who do not recognize me as someone who has been around?" But it was still an interesting idea. "Of course, if I look like I know what I am doing in a crowd, perhaps I will be of less note. Hm. I shall try that. Thank you."
Rosito fidgeted again.

Frost smiled sadly, giving a shrug. “I think I have harassed you enough. If you ever do wish for company, or would like any help with blending in feel free to come find me. I’m often in the tea club room or my own dorm. If not leave me a message.” A tap to his nose. “Not the best tracker, but I might be able to find you by scent. But Rosito was it?” He looked around. “Don’t try to fade too much into the shadows. I imagine it’d get a bit lonely if no one noticed you the entire time you’re here.” Seiana_ZI OTL I THINK WE DEVIATED BUT STILL IT WAS GOOD INTRO?? We can do a follow up if you want?

Rosito chuckled under his breath when Frost mentioned being quite lonely. "Perhaps that was the intention," he murmured, before nodding in acknowledgement of what Frost was saying. It was good to keep where he lived in reference, in case he needed to avoid overly curious wolfos in the future. ... Was he really already thinking of avoidance strategies? Rosito hit himself in the head lightly with the tips of his fingers, before bowing his head as a way of showing his respect. "Very well. I shall see you another day, then." And before Rosito had even realized he had, he slipped away again, weaving back into hiding. iStoleYurVamps DEVIATIONS CAN HAPPEN Iiiii have definitely given up on planning anything properly for my characters >>; They're brats. And yes!! Definitely~ Frost might have to go find Rosito though. >>
