This forest was a strange forest, one of which she had previously found herself existing in at least a few times throughout her life. It felt eerily peaceful and safe, and she could scent other Guardians like her walking through the trees, as well, but she had yet to spot one other than herself with her own eyes. It was truly odd; she had this strange pull to find other Guardians to talk to and bond with, yet she knew in her personality that she didn't quite enjoy the company of others. But even still, she recognized that she couldn't simply drift through life completely alone, simply wandering around without sharing any words with anything other than the wind!
But all she could hear was the sound of her hooves clopping down against the solid earth below her. Everything simply seemed to serene, so docile and quiet. She couldn't help but to take a brief pause, shut her eyes, and take a deep, soothing breath through her nostrils, settling herself down on her stomach and tucking her legs beneath her. She wasn't sleepy or tired in the least, but the peacefulness of the environment around her was starting to get to her head, infecting her mind almost, making her settle herself down and start a meditative state. She closed her eyes slowly, pulling her ears against her head and slowing her breathing, listening to her heart beat in her ears and feeling it slow against her ribs. She began to find herself shutting out the world around her, focusing on the pulsing of her blood and the sound of her heart...

Malaki raised his head slowly and flicked his ears about. He'd thought he'd heard something. The wind was calling. He stood and began to walk, letting the breeze guide him on his way.
Eventually the buck came to a stop, and he lowered his head as he snuck up behind the doe laying in the grass. "Hello there," he said softly, "who might you be?"

Her eyes flew open and her ears flicked upwards immediately after hearing the sudden voice, her heart stopping for a moment as she felt absolutely startled. She leaped up onto her hooves and whipped around, shuffling backwards a little bit and her tail sticking straight upward. Her eyes widened as they scanned over the buck that had appeared behind her, assessing him as decently harmless. His body language seemed harmless and docile enough, but she wasn't about to let her guard down immediately. Then she realized that this was the first actual Guardian that she had encountered in this strange forest.
"Who are you? You're the one who approached me," she said stiffly, her heart still racing swiftly. She didn't mean to sound so rude, but she was still settling herself down. She was usually much more proper than this, though, wasn't she? And suddenly a feeling of guilt began to settle in her gut, making her take a deep swallow as she began to relax herself.

He laughed and raised his head to look at her. "My name is Malaki, and you?" he asked, straightening up. "What's a deer doing out all alone in the forest anyway? There could be any manner of things out here."

She blinked at the buck and then dipped her head, trying to be more like her more proper, usual self. Luckily for her, the buck didn't seem to be offended by her previous stance at all, which set her mind and body more at ease.
"My name is Wander. It's a pleasure," she much more calmly responded, slightly dipping her head once again. She blinked at his strange question, however. This forest felt special, regardless of whether its location in the world could possibly be. Couldn't he feel the special feeling of peace, too? "Speak for yourself," she bluntly countered, trying to deflect the attention off of herself. "You're all alone in these forests, too, aren't you? Besides, it seems safe enough to me, sir, unless another deer wishes to do harm upon me," she tried to say logically to the buck, Malaki. He had a lovely name, as well, she thought to herself randomly.

"Well you see, I've been out here before," he replied. "All I've met in met in this place so far are other deer. But I haven't explored everything yet. I don't suppose you would like to explore with me?"

"That's odd," she muttered to herself. "I only remember being in these forest a few numbers of times my whole life, yet I feel like this is the only world there is. And in my few times I've been here, I've never seen any other creatures at all other than myself in a reflection, sir, before I laid eyes upon you. That doesn't mean I haven't seen the other deer tracks and smelled their scents, but I had never actually seen the body and being of another deer before this moment," she admitted to him. But when he asked his next question, she found herself slowly and delicately retreating away from him with cautious, hesitant steps. This buck, Malaki, was still a very new being to her, and she wasn't about to let her guard down. But he seemed so harmless, and there was a certain part of his aura drawing herself to him, as if she wished to make a bond with him. She didn't have any friends in her life at all yet...could she have one in him? You never did know when you could stumble upon an ally in your life, and if he was offering to accompany her in this strange and new forest. She was plenty capable of handling her own, and she knew she could most likely fight Malaki up if violence came down to it, even though that would be her final, ending, most last resort to do, and Malaki could defend her if they stumbled upon anything dangerous at all. And besides, he knew this forest much better than she did!
She blinked cautiously at him a few more times, holding her breath for a few moments as she kept her words at the base of her throat. "Sir, it would be an honor to explore with you. It would be just lovely to stretch my legs and experience this forest."

"Alright," Malaki nodded before walking toward the nearest thicket. "Would you like to choose our pace?" He paused to look pack at her quizzically. He'd never really spoken this much with another deer and it was taking a lot of control to not just begin bounding towards the fields and clearings where the best grass grew.

She briefly let out a sigh through her nostrils, breathing out some of the energy of her fears and anxieties. Malaki didn't seem so bad; in fact, so far he seemed genuinely interested in her company and her existence here in these forests. Still, she told herself that she wouldn't entirely letting her guard down around Malaki anytime soon.
"A quickened walk seems appropriate enough, Sir Malaki," she suggested, taking a few dainty steps after him. She would be staying behind him; no way she was getting in front or standing by his side just yet. He hadn't earned enough of her trust for that at this time.
