Welcome to the fifth and Final Race! Althea will be hosting, so listen up! The Owsla-marli doesn't care to repeat herself. Best of luck, and Frith-speed!
There wasn't a word she knew that described how exhausted, frustrated, and nervous she was. It was almost like going tharn, but she was more angry than scared. This wasn't a race, this was purposefully taunting Inle`. Just no good could come from this.
But her opinions were to be kept to herself and she did as she was told, leading the whole of the group off the Down and about halfway to Nuthanger farm. It was only then, when Frith was starting to sink in the sky, did she address everyone.
"Everyone, pay attention. Today is the last day."
She stood up on her hinds to make herself easier to see, taking a moment to look around cautiously before glaring down at her charges.
"You will be put into groups. Each group will have three rabbits. The first will play look out. If you see a pfeffa (cat) or rowr (dog), you better keep track of it. If it sees you, or another rabbit in your group, it's your job to start running; give them something to chase. Get back to me, if you can."
She knew, really, there was nothing she could do about a dog, but a cat? She outweighed them, to be sure. Didn't mean she could beat one. Two rabbits against a cat, maybe...
"The second? You'll be going into the farm proper. That's right. The farmer has picked some Flay-rah that he hasn't taken inside yet. It's sitting just over the fence. Dash in, grab, dash out. Find a safe place along the fence to hide, let another rabbit take the flay-rah from you there. Whatever you grab, you can share with your team."
"The last rabbit will be waiting along the fence, ready to take the flay-rah from the second. You will be running your tail back to here, as quick as you can."
She let those heavy words sit in the air, hoping they'd understand just how dangerous this was. Shaking her head and taking a moment to scratch an ear, Althea turned to each rabbit and started to divide them into their groups...
-----------------------------------------------------------------
How to Play
- You will randomize between 1 and 3 to determine which job you will have in your group. - You DO NOT need to form groups, for the purpose of keeping this simple keep it vague who else is in your group and just play your part. <3 - After you know your role in the group, you will roll and post ten times using a d10. - Please write at least one line of RP in each post - You may edit your post to include the rp, but if you delete your post you will be disqualified
More Info
- There will be 5 races held - Your rabbit must place in the top three for three two races (don't have to be consecutive) to be re-colored on the runner lines - There will be hazards in some of the races, and there is a chance your rabbit could die
Rules
- DO NOT DELETE YOUR POSTS (and yes, I can see if you do that) - You must use the rabbit you want to become a runner as the rabbit in these races - In the event of a tie in scores, the person that finished rolling first will be ranked higher. - If you mess up, forget to roll, etc etc. QUOTE THE MESSED UP POST and post again with your roll
WHAT YOU CAN WIN! (everyone's favorite part)
- Place in the top 3 in two races and your rabbit will become a Runner! - - Every time you place in the top 3, you'll earn a piece of Flay-rah! (unless you win three times, and wish to turn your rabbit into a Runner. If that rabbit continues to enter races and wins you'll earn flay-rah for additional races) - - Participate in all five races and you earn a piece of Flay-rah! - - SURVIVE THE FIFTH RACE AND WIN A PIECE OF FLAY-RAH NO MATTER HOW YOU PLACE -
WARNING! - YOUR RABBIT CAN DIE. And it's pretty freaking likely that someone might in this one.

Recap on How to Play
You will first randomize between 1 and 3, this determines your role in your group.
----------------------------------------------------- If you Roll a One
You are the scout. You will be pacing along the fence line in an effort to watch out for the rest of your group.
You will be rolling d10's for each of your ten posts.
If you roll a 4 - One of the farm cats catches sight of you, the grass rustles, etc. Roll ANYTHING besides another 4 for the cat to be disinterested and not bother to investigate. If you roll a 4 right after the first one - The cat gives chase! YOU MUST QUOTE ME. I will roll a d10 for the cat, and you will roll a d10 to try and get away. If you best me, the cat gives up, finds it too much effort.
If you roll a 9 - The dog catches wind of your smell... If you roll a 2 immediately after a 9 - The dog picks up your trail and gives chase! YOU MUST QUOTE ME. I will roll a D20 for the dog, and you will roll a d10 to try and get away. If you best me, the dog cannot break his chain and you get away.
-----------------------------------------------------------
If you Roll a Two
You are the retriever, going into the farm proper to grab a carrot out of the pile that hasn't been crated yet.
You will be rolling a d10 for each of your posts
If you roll a 1 - The farmer catches sight of you from his window! He'll be grabbing for that shotgun and running out the door any moment now! If you roll a 1 IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE FIRST - BAM! Instant death ;-;
-----------------------------------------------------------------
If you Roll a Three
You are the runner, taking the carrot from the second rabbit and running back to Althea!
If you roll a 1 OR 4 - One of the farm cats catches sight of you, the grass rustles, etc. Roll ANYTHING besides another 1 or 4 for the cat to be disinterested and not bother to investigate. If you roll a 1 or 4 right after the first one - The cat gives chase! YOU MUST QUOTE ME. I will roll a D20 for the cat, and a d10 for Althea. You will roll a d10. If your score and Althea's score combined bests the cat, you will get away.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
IF YOU GET AWAY FROM THE DOG OR CAT, YOU'RE DONE. YOU SURVIVE, BUT YOU DO NOT FINISH AND DO NOT GET AN ADDITIONAL PIECE OF FLAY-RAH.
YOU WILL, HOWEVER, GET A PIECE OF FLAY-RAH FOR GETTING IN THE TOP 3 IN ANY RACE, AND IF YOU AT LEAST PARTICIPATED IN ALL 5 RACES

(As a show of goodwill, I'll enter with one of my own.) She had almost decided against coming today, but after her embarrassment at the first race, she had to redeem herself. Had to.
Althea's doom and gloom speech was both frightening and horribly boring though. Yawning, she waited for the owsla to tell her where to go.

Wait by a fence? What in the name of Inle` did this have to do with being a runner? Huffing to herself, the doe hunkered down next to a fence post.

Peeking out from around her post, she looked at the other rabbit in her group as they moved through the farm, silently urging them to hurry.

Raising her head even higher out of the grass, she looks around and then sees... oh Frith. A cat.
The gleaming eyes glared at her curiously, and Liana sunk low against the post, hoping against hope the cat would leave her be.

Against her better judgement, Feverfew was back. Her ear stung, but her pride stung worse and a small frown etched into her features as Althea explained the task. Great Frith, whoever made these courses... Sending a bunch of untrained hopefuls to taunt elil? Well, she felt it was too late to back out, now.

The cat apparently had better things to do, as she never took a step towards the rabbit, instead stooping her head to clean a paw.
Her heart thundering, Liana watched as the other rabbit brought her the flay-rah before dashing off to hide. Taking the carrot, Liana looked around before scurrying back towards the owsla doe.

So she was the runner. She was scared shitless, that was for certain. Maybe, just maybe that run in with the hawk the day before knocked some sense and skill into her, but this would be difficult even for skilled rabbits. She braced herself as her teammate came to her with flay-rah, which smelled delicious. She couldn't believe she was doing this.

Gripping the root in her teeth, she started to run back towards Althea, keeping low to the ground and doing her best not to trip on the damned thing.

She was off, the bit of flay-rah held firmly in her teeth. The scent was cloying her senses, but she looked over the bit of food dangling from her maw. She had to make it back and quickly.

Pfeffa. The smell hit her and she heard the grass rustle. Terror gripped at the doe and she did her best to pick up the pace to elude the elil.

Stumbling over the flay-rah, she nearly dropped it before righting herself, eyes wide in terror as her heart pounded. Not too much further...

She managed to avoid the pfeffa, fortunately, but that didn't ease her worry any. The damn thing could easily turn up again... Or worse!
