"It... certainly doesn't look like Christmas or the Hairdresser's..." Jerry murmured carefully, eyeing their surroundings. It reminded him vaguelly of the Horseman territory. But that was destroyed- it had to be... someplace new.
Roar was summoned immediately, "Stay behind me and keep up your defenses..." He pushed his glasses up his nose tightening his grip on his weapon as he stalked ahead.
Something stirred within the shadows... they weren't alone. His stomach clenched as they started to darken around him, stretching upwards... "Yeah... yeah. Um. Defense. Lifers are good at defense right?" They should have brought a Moon.

Stamnia: 5 Melvin looked up when he saw the plants shake and then start to break. "Uh....yeah. I can defend." He told him, before moving closer to Jerry. They should have brought a Moon.Quote: The vegetation rustles and two large, shadowy figures push their way through the trees and hanging vines to turn their bulk to them both. The pair are identical, sluggish, bulky twins as they move towards you and they don't seem happy to have their happy island disturbed. Boss 1 HP: 50/50 (Auto Damage -5 each time attacked!) "Okay, so we can confirm this place isn't deserted and that they are...shadow monsters." He was mentally taking notes for a report as he held his gun and moved to Jerry's side. "Have...you seen anything like this before?"

"These guys? Nothing new." There was a glint off of Jerry's glasses as he planted his feet, aimed his weapon, and gave a sudden, blood-curdling howl. The blast ripped into the closest creature, who swung out with a slow whispery cry of pain.
Thankfully Melvin's defense was able to protect against the bulk of it, but still Jerry was sent staggering back. "Keep it up!"

There was something strange in the fact at how much Jerry didn't seem like the jock type. Then again, Jordan was a Sun too and he didn't seem in the least bit crazy. Rep however seemed to fit the roll, but Jerry didn't seem to share these traits until he was actually fighting. Heaving up his massive cannon, he fired straight into one of the shadows, not even bothered as it towered over him and swung. Melvin did what he could, but he could tell that Jerry was still hit.
"I'll try!" He said, trying his best to do what little he could do. It wasn't like his attacks would do any good even if they hit. If he could keep Jerry alive, he'd have a chance to see what this island had to offer. "You're doing great!" The Sun Hunter had lit up, leaping around to try to separate the two twins, focusing on the one he had wounded, "Make a distraction!" He barked suddenly, planting his feet again and taking careful aim.
"But do NOT engage! Keep it off of me!"
The trigger was pulled again, his blast ripping forth straight through and Jerry's head tilted back with a wild howl through the resonating blast.

"Right! I'll....distract." How he was going to do that, he had no idea. He tended to make a point thus far to keep out of the sight of the enemy and let the Suns and Moons be the target. He was in Life and could at beast defend, and a range weapon helped keep him in the back. It was a nice setup to stay alive, but as a distraction, well, hopefully he wouldn't get hurt.
Hopefully.
Come on! He's doing all the work! Grow a pair and just...flail around or something! Oh, better yet, SING! You're on a muse island!

Melvin moved to the side and started to wave before giving a loud whistle. "HEY! Over here!" Then Jerry fired causing Melvin to duck out of instinct and watched a massive blast be taken by the nearest monster. Holy Hell!!!
He might be a drunkard but damn he can shoot!
He stood up again and whistled again.

The creature was closing in on him, Jerry's eyes narrowing at the looming shadow of a creature, it was right under his tragectory...
And then a whistle made the creature glance over it's shoulder, his blast ripping past to rake through the sky.
He was given enough time to scramble away again with a hissed curse, "You're doing great!" He hissed, not wanting to bring attention back to himself until he could find firmer ground.

Melvin was moving back. "Whoa...Whhhoaaahhh there." The creature had turned his attention and was now following Melvin. "Hi....giant shadow thing. How about we just stay put, huh?" He said, nervous as he glanced back and started to slowly turn. The other monster was looking at his brother, moving behind him just to look at what he probably considered a toy but had yet to decide to invest interest into not and not wanting to bother his twin just yet.
Well, Melvin sure got there attention.
"Yeah, you're doing great too. Just... keep firing." And kill these things before they cornered him too much. Right now Melvin was doing a slow circle around them in hopes of keeping them in about the same place. This was a little hard to do with all the vegetation.

"We have to get them separated!" Another swerved shot. This tactic wasn't exactly working but he seemed to be wearing the beast down. "Lead one over there then make a big noise!"

"Really?! You think that's a good idea?" Well, Jerry was the one hitting them and also used to killing these things. "Alright." He said, though he shook his head, not all for this idea.
Looking around, he found a break in the vegetation and headed over closer to the other brother than the one being attacked.
Okay, research is starting to not be as fun anymore.

He whistled again, trying to get the other monster to head over and stop being where he was. Scratching it's skull, it looked over and slowly turned around, landing on all fours. It's claws curled and it moved more like a orge or ape. "HEY! Yeah. Just this way. Just...take a walk with me." He sounded stupid when he talked but he was too nervous to stay quiet.

"THAT'S IT!" Jerry leaped forward, planting his feet with a wild howl and a fresh blast, ripping into the lone wounded creature. It howled back, frantically, arms swinging to send him tumbling with his weapon.

While Jerry was dealing with the one monster who now had his attention devoted to the cannon-wielding Sun, Melvin was left with the now interested twin. Now that they were seperated, it decided that it was it's own turn to play and that it could claim dibs on the Lifer. Melvin did not like this plan, but Jerry's confidence to call back to him was telling him that maybe this was a good thing. He knew was he was doing, right? This was a smart tactic.
I'm taking advice from a drinking Sun who I have yet to really figure out is a druggie or not.
He was not feeling that confident at that reminder, but wasn't given much time to dwell on it as the creature kept creeping closer. Melvin pushed more into the vegetation, slowly moving away from the other monster and Jerry.
