Back when Simon and Grant built the asylum, they created their main office. This included two desks, several research books, their own personal in-office library, computers, and a master computer. The master computer was used to store the more important files. It also ran 100% of the building's functions as well as recorded the security tapes. When Aeon came and took over after Simon and Grant were murdered, this became more of a friendly-like office, keeping pretty much the same layout. Aeon was more into books, though, so only the master computer was used.
