Altar of the Old Gods: Quest Altar of the Old Gods: Requirements: You will need to PRP "researching" up this area (again a prp with your characters just discovering this information in a book is fine), before heading off on this quest. One person will need to be the dungeon master of this quest line: you can have a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 6 characters in this quest. Due to not taking forever, the "Dungeon Master" has control of the pacing: even if not everyone replies, it is okay to go the next round as long as it makes sense from the Dungeon Master's POV. Historical IC background: The Altar of the old Gods, also known as the Parthenon in history was once where mortals went to worship the Old Gods, also known as the time before Halloween was fully created. The Old Gods left many items after they vanished, including hundreds of artifacts. Most of these they blessed to mortals, but several of them they kept hidden. The Altar of the Old Gods is now abandoned: only the hardiest dare take the trek. It is located in a niche between the Human World and Halloween, portals randomly spawn to the area but they are very much by chance. The highest chance of portals spawning to that exact location is by parking yourself in the Weeping Forest. gaia_crown [ Getting Started: ] Getting into the Altar of the Old Gods: - You need to camp out in the Weeping Forest after reading the information. Hunters can enter Halloween as well without a golem (recommended as the Altar itself is very golem unfriendly due to its climate and high altitude as well as natural enemies), for a max of 30 minutes. Each roll takes 5 IC minutes - students can pretty much park here as long as they need as well as horsemen while Hunters will need to exit and enter back again. - All players roll 1d100. - Rolling 50 or less will let players find a portal that randomly leads to someone's house. Feel free to RP this as you please as awkwardly as you please - Rolling 80 or less will let players find a portal that leads to the Land of Holidays. Right now is really not the time for Xmas cheer...and the creatures there seem extremely hostile- Rolling 90 or less will lead you to the Haunted House. - Rolling 91 or higher will let you find the portal! If one were ask Eva before coming to Deus Ex whether or not she believed in monsters...well, she probably would have said yes. Gods, on the other hands, would have been a completely different matter. She wasn't sure why it was so hard to wrap her head around this concept--if things like ghosts and demons could exist, why not the fabled gods of mythology too?
It had been curiosity that led the girl to creep around in Deus Ex's archives. She had decided to try seeking out any information that the organization had on "gods"--mostly in search of any concrete evidence of whether or not they had ever existed--and in the midst of her search, she stumbled over something interesting. Something about an altar, and how these gods had left a number of artifacts behind when they vanished.
And then when she read the line about this supposed altar being somewhere between the Human World and Halloween, she whipped out her cellphone in a flash and sent out a mass text to a few people.Quote: <33 HEY YOU GUYS, up for an adventure? Did somebody say... Adventure? Robert could have eaten his phone when he saw the text. But instead, he stuffed an extra pair of socks in his pocket and put his jacket on, heading to meet Eva at the archive room. There was something about the room that had put him off, keeping him from checking it out, even for fun, before. But Eva wanted adventure, and Robert really wanted something exciting and not terrible to do. His hands were itching for a fight, and his legs were itching to stretch. It was time to go on an adventure. "I hope I wasn't supposed to bring anything." Robert jogged up to stand beside Eva, giving her a wink. "Except these sweet abs, check it out." He pulled his shirt up and wiggled them. He wasn't going to forget how hilarious Eva had been when she had abs. This would never get old.

Who was curious? Jude was!
The text was received but not really responded to, as was in his nature to do. He just got up and made his way to the archives without any real hesitation, though he probably should have hesitated a bit.
..Maybe he would have if he hadn't been so bored in the first place. Either way he was here and ready to rock and roll again. He looked over toward Eva, "What's up?" Jude asked curiously. It was almost like they were going to go on a magical journey of self discovery or something.
Also Robert's abs would be present. Wonderful.

Ariane wasn't so sure of this "adventure" business; being a hunter was already an adventure, without them constantly seeking it. However, since it was Eva who asked, she decided not to turn it down; besides, it's not like she had anything better to do, other than sit around.
"So," She eyed the trio, giving a thumbs up in approval of Robert's abs. Almost immediately after, she gave Jude a customary pat on the butt as greeting, "What sort of adventure did you have in mind?"

Ah ha, and there was the first adventurer! "Hey there, Robert! And no, you didn't need to bring anythin--" She cut herself off when he suddenly lifted his shirt, her smile becoming wry as she reached out and lightly slapped his chest with the handful of notes that she was holding, "Stop that, you. I'm still lamenting the loss of my own abs."
Before she could start sighing and woefully pat at her chest, Jude arrived, followed shortly after by Ariane. Both of them earned a bright grin as she lifted a hand to wave. "Jude, Ariane, hey! Sorry to call you guys all out like this, but since we're all here now..."
She lifted the hand clutching the notes, waving them around. "I actually stumbled over some interesting info. Apparently there's this 'Altar of the old Gods' where, once upon a time, the gods left a number of artifacts behind. According to the archives, this altar is somewhere between our world and Halloween, and there are portals that spawn in the Weeping Forest that can bring us there."
Eva paused, and then waved the notes at the trio with more vigor, "Treasure hunting! You guys want to go and check it out?"

Eva said like.. seven words that went right over Robert's head. "I wouldn't be here if I wasn't ready to check some s**t out." He answered quickly, putting his shirt down before anybody else (JUDE) got any fresh ideas. "I'm ready to beat up some old gods and steal some treasure. Let's go." He posed dramatically.

The only fresh idea Jude had in response to Robert's abs was the thought of wandering over and pulling the shirt down. It wasn't out of prudish instinct as much as it was him not wanting to stand there and watch Robert holding his shirt up all day as if trying to show everyone that he did, indeed, have a bellybutton.
Jude knows you have a bellybutton. It's okay to put your shirt down.
He tried to focus on Eva as she spoke but then got a little distracted by butt pats given by Ariane. He quietly stared at Ariane for a moment before staring back over at Eva again, "Sounds interesting enough to check out. I'm in."
His hand may have raised up and swatted Ariane directly on the a**. Maybe. (It did.)

Ariane was totally fine with the return butt greeting. Or whatever Jude just did. She was fine with that.
"Sounds interesting to me. Sure, I would be up for looting the altar of some old gods," She chuckled, stroking her chin with a thoughtful look, "So... We gonna grab a golem, since we're going to Halloween?" That had always been the case, unless their trip to the Horsemen Isle counted - although that was some kind of loophole or oversight or something.
"Or will the golems not work since we're heading to this altar through a portal?"

Awesome, it looked like everyone was in! Eva offered her friends a grin, pausing to lift her brows at Robert and laugh. "We're not looting, er, the gods...but we miiiight be taking their stuff, if we can find this 'Altar' and get through it." Which probably wouldn't be easy, but hey, a challenge was a challenge.
She turned to look at Ariane then, frowning as she shuffled through her notes. "Apparently it's not advisable for us to be in golems if we manage to get to the actual altar, yeah. So we'll have to go to the Weeping Forest as is, and hope that we find the portal within half an hour." Or however long it took until their heads exploded from the atmosphere.
...
"...Er, on that note...I guess everyone should make sure that they have their pendants. Other than that, we ready?"

"It's still looting the old gods, Eva. It's just in an indirect manner," Ariane grinned, giving the female hunter a gentle nudge with her elbow. She couldn't help but be amused by Robert's enthusiasm, which she was - for some reason - eager to fuel, "Or taking without permission." Aka they were stealing... Assuming that they can even find the place.
Or avoid dying, among other effects, since they would be staying in Halloween for a period of time without a golem.
"Of course," She chuckled when the pendent was mentioned; it was ironic how they had to fight over one of those during their 'test' when it was really quite a common item, used in plenty of missions to return to HQ, "Never leave home without one. I'm good to go if the boys are~ Let's hope we get lucky with finding that portal."
Aw yeah. She was born ready.
