Uxe had been wandering in hopes that he would the place in which he would belong and call home. He had been traveling for what seemed like days... weeks maybe. He wasn't sure. He was just so tired of feeling as though he would never belong anywhere he went. To be on the outskirts of a 'home'. He knew at this point his parents were dead and gone and so far what did he have left for them to see in their afterlife. Nothing. Children he left with their mother... that is about it. Nothing but hatred and sorrow and regret.
He moved on, his red eyes squinting against a blast of sand. He contemplated that this would be the one factor he'd hate... the sand.
He hadn't even seen the stranger until it seemed as though they were in the midst of battle. With a mighty roar, out of confusion and anger; he swiped.

Ea hated being surprised.
There she was, out on a stroll with her mate. Of course, calling it a stroll made the act seem pleasant, but there was very little leisure in traveling the desert. They'd been out for most of the afternoon, collecting roots to bulster their stock. The growing season was ending [if you could call it that], and these roots would need to last several months before the plants began to thrive again. Vlam carried the bulk of them, because Ea assured him that was what good mates did.
In retrospect, she probably should have chosen to carry them. It seemed like they'd only been in no-man's land for ten minutes before some brazen rouge was plowing into her like all it took to join the pride was a good back alley beating.
The shock of it had Vlam taking a few steps back. A silent growl had his large body trembling, but Ea was handling the situation before he even had the chance to seem heroic. The wild cat out turned her paw and slapped the assailant across the face.
"YOU JUST JUMP AT ME WITHOUT SO MUCH AS A WORD?" she snarled.

Uxe felt like an idiot for not paying attention. He let these two come up upon him without anything more than a blink. Perhaps it was the sand and the brightness it reflected the sun into his eyes. He felt a bit ashamed as well that he had lashed out at a stranger but... now it seemed he was already half way into a deadly battle. He didn't speak, he simply lashed out again; though it wasn't nearly as panicked as before.

Ea snarled. The nerve of this vagabond had her blood boiling. Even after she spoke he hadn't said a word, just continued plowing away like she was some sort of pride-sanctioned punching bag. If it wasn't for the smell of him, she might have had half a mind the sound the guard.
But luckily for him, she recognized a rogue when she saw one. She got plenty enough coming through the wards, blistered and bruised from their joining duels. It just wasn't Ea's job to put him into one. "What a brute," she growled as she stepped aside. Vlam still seemed concerned about the whole affair, but she pushed him off with a paw.
"What are you doing? Back off, I don't need protecting," she snapped at her mate, who just continued to stare blearily back.
Ea rounded upon the stranger, and made another dive with her paw. Unfortunately, it connected with nothing but air. "A fool and you don't even realize it," she grumbled.

Uxe observed the strange duo for a moment before dodging her swipe and lashing out with a semi affective blow. Was her comment aimed at him or her mate? His red eyes looked at them questioningly; before he questioned whether or not to continue. She looked semi dangerous. Not sure about the other one. He didn't say anything... there wasn't much to say really. He just didn't want to die out here.

Ea was practically in an uproar over not being responded to. One might think that living with a mute mate, she might consider that there were others out there like him. But such a thought did not cross her mind. In fact, the only thought that entered it was what an insult it was to her ego not to be responded to.
Winding back her paw, she landed a lucky shot on his flank. "You- you don't even know who you are up against, do you? Just some good for nothing rogue wasting my precious time!"
Vlam moved beside her, perhaps trying to dissuade her from being so harsh with her blows. After all, if she injured him it would be her that would have to tend to the wounds. When she didn't seem to listen, Vlam skidded to a stop and watched the dark male pityingly.
If Ea's temper got any worse, this certainly wouldn't end well!

Uxe wasn't really sure what this lionesses deal was but he really wasn't interested in playing it her way... but it seemed him not speaking was only making matters worse. "I only desire to survive..." He said simply, his red eyes narrowed and his strike missing.
-sorry it's short-

"Survive?" Ea snarled, slamming her paw down once more. This time, it hit nothing but air, colliding with the hot sand in a burst of dust. She snorted as it flew across her nose. "What part of this is about survival? You're either a fool, or an even bigger fool."
Pulling to a stop, she did a quick roundabout on her strange challenger, brushing Vlam aside. The big male took a few steps to the side, unable to get his footing. "Do you really think you can just jump anyone out of nowhere and demand things out of them?! Do you think we're nothing but barbarians?"
Nevermind that Ea had called them as much in her own words.

((Thats 9 for me))
Uxe shook his head and took a step back; without attempting to attack again. "Who is "we"..." He asked simply... looking curious

[ 10 for me! ]
Ea pulled to a halt, feeling the hit graze the air beside her. Her wild eyes bore down on the stranger. Her lips twitched. "I don't take ignorance kindly. And I doubt you came this far without knowing the protocol of our lands," she half spat. "But not all of us are thugs for you to pounce upon in desperate hopes of being one of us."
She looked to Vlam, who returned the strange look. "We are firekin. And pray you never require aide from me. I am a spiteful thing, and I will remember," Ea said bitterly. She turned, pushing past her mate.
Vlam remained there for a moment, still balancing the various herbs and roots he had been carrying. He squinted at the young male, his jaw squaring in thought. Then he simply snorted and turned to follow her.

He stopped and simply gazed at her silently, his red eyes like drops of blood in the dark of his pelt. He honestly didn't know hide or hair of anything out here other than he was wondering, so she wasn't sure what the heck she was talking about but it was obvious that he shouldn't bother with mentioning it. He simply wrinkled his nose at her. Aide? Well he certainly hoped not. She seemed like the kind to simply watch him bleed to death without so much as a breath. He simply shruggeg; sitting down in the sand and wondered many things to himself; as he simply nodded his head to the male as he turned to follow the female...
He simply sat in thought; wondering what was truly going on.
