She'd taken to the library. The place she always did. Books were her escape for the moment, and anywhere but Deus was fine.
She'd read through so many of these books that she'd found herself in the non-fiction section. A story from Greek mythology about titans- real kiddie stuff. Hestia, Zeus. She knew the story. Gods took the Titans and locked them up.
Ami turned a page, finding a picture of an underwater prison drawn in what looked like two year old crayon. Junpei would've gotten a kick out that- probably told her how he'd visited on a summer vacation or something.
"Ahh, seamonkey, I miss you," she said wistfully. No one was around to hear it, after all.

It used to be that Wilson didn’t like going to the library. He had always been more of an outdoor-type, the kind of person who liked to be outside playing sports or taking hikes. Things like that, but slowly he had gotten used to his role in the death division. Reading books weren’t so boring for him anymore. It was interesting, actually. College had already prepped him for lots of reading anyways.
He was seated on the opposite side of the library. Unlike Ami, he found himself immersed in a book about poisonous monsters. A grin tugged at the corner of his lips when he found a certain bovine creature. Gramps, isn’t that you? [Hmph.]

The more she read, the more plausible it seemed that the place really did exist. She could easily see Junpei swimming around it, in his little ... "halloween" world. It had monster in the story. Hadn't they taken down a titan in the artic?
She scowled. It could be real. It was plausible. That wasn't okay.
The book snapped shut, she slid it back on the shelf. She stood up, and began walking towards the exit. She had research to do. Research was always exciting.
Her eyes caught Wilson. Two eyes would be better than one, right? "Wilson? Are you busy?"

The death hunter was content with idly sifting through the book until someone called out his name. Wilson looked up. “Yeah? Oh. No, not really.” He closed the book shut with a quiet thud before he reached up to slide it back into its original location. “What do you need help with?”

"A little ... research project?" she admitted, holding out the book she'd checked out. "You know the story about the titans getting locked under the ocean, right?"
She rubbed the back of her neck awkwardly. "Well, I think there might be some truth to it? I wanted to check the life libraries- they're more factual and extensive. Ah ... two eyes are better than one?" she asked with a shrug.

Wilson walked over to Ami and craned his neck forward to garner a better view of the book in her hands. "Mmhm."
He smiled. "Sure, I can help you with that. Death is really good at researching too, right?"

She nodded. The normalcy of the whole thing was a relief. Just two hunters researching something, it was nice. No need for big battles, no fighting- she somewhat liked it this way.
"I don't know exactly where it would be," she said, thumb nail in her mouth. Maybe library C? That had to do with oceanography. Library F had classic mythology though ...
She sighed. Mythology would lead to monster guides, most likely. They didn't need guides, they needed maps, locations. "Let's try library C?"

“Alright then. Lead the way,” he replied as he waved his arm with a flourish. Wilson gladly followed Ami toward said-library. “Do you have any hints about where this place will be? Other than in, you know, the ocean?”

Ami walked, Wilson followed. "Mmm ... No, I don't," she said, disappointed. "Though ... logic would say somewhere in the Atlantic, closer to Greece, considering that is where the stories began?"
They reached the doors and Ami said, "It could probably be anywhere though ... FEAR could move it and all ..." This was going to be much, much harder than expected.

“Indeed, that will make researching difficult, but not impossible,” reasoned Wilson with a smile. “I don’t know how long it’ll take, but I’m more than happy to help you find the answer no matter how long that’ll be.”
He passed through the doors and strolled down the shelves while taking in the titles written across the spines. “I can start on this side and you on the other?”

Ami's heart fluttered a little with Wilson's declaration to help her and stick to it. She couldn't help it. Feelings didn't disappear, just got dampened. They were just friends and that's all they would be. Ami had to remind herself of that.
She nodded and followed him, moving down the shelves. She grabbed a book marked "Atlantic Sectors 1." Book one of a series of 26.
"I think you might regret that promise Wilson ..."

Maybe they could have been something more if they had met a little earlier, a little differently, but in the end Wilson’s heart would always belong to the woman sleeping in the pods. And he would wait patiently, wait forever if need be.
Wilson grinned. “You underestimate my patience,” he retorted before he fell into silence, intent on reading through. He couldn’t tell how many books he had sifted through, but the words were beginning to swim across the pages now.
“Wait, wait. Is this it?” He gestured for Ami to come over.

Ami laughed and got to work reading. She'd skimmed through book 4 or 5 when Wilson finally spoke up. Had he found something?
She shimmied out from under her tiny pile of books and found her way over to where he was sitting. "Let me see?" she asked, gently moving the book from his hands to hers. A lengthy paragraph beside a picture of what looked like a maze. No coordinates, no locations. It was a step closer though.
"It doesn't look like its what we want, but its definitely closer. Does it say anything about a place? An entrance?" she asked, looking at the books he was looking around. "It's good that we know what it looks like at least. Seems to be some kind of prison ... or maze?" She reached up and grabbed a book, beginning to leaf through it.

“Uum….” His voice trailed off as he leaned over to skim the page’s contents. When he failed to find what he wanted, Wilson turned away to search through his books and pulled one out with a red cover. He flipped through the pages. “It’s supposed to have a portal somewhere…?"

Ami looked down at Wilson's book excitedly. "A portal?" she said excitedly. "That could be something!"
Ami leaned down to read close to the page. "It says its somewhere in the human world ... close to Halloween's edge ..." She drawled off, her eyes reading quickly.
She took the information and quickly stood up, scurrying to another part of the library. A large leather-bound journal was selected. "Ah, this one has coordinates, Wilson!"
