Dust Profile:

Character Name: Reginald Brambleclove
Nicknames: Reggie (Everyone calls him Reggie), Reg
Dust Essence: Garnet
Wikipedia: Garnet

Reggie's essence will consist of the following Garnet group endmember species

Pyralspite garnets -

- Almandine (reddish orange to red, slightly purplish red to reddish purple and usually dark in tone)
- Pyrope (Red. Some varieties are very dark, almost black, while others can take tones of purple. Some chromium-rich pyropes are thermochromic, becoming green when heated)

Gender: Male
Powers: A mix of all. <3
Traits:

Abrasive:
The garnet stones upon Reggie's skin are a natural abrasive. There are smaller, flatter ones on the palms of his hands which are especially useful when sanding wood or carving into rock.

Green When Under Heat :
Pyrope (Some chromium-rich pyropes are thermochromic, becoming green when heated)

When exposed to high temperatures, usually while playing outside under the sunlight, some of the stones on Reggie's skin turn green. This change is permanent to the effected stones.

Molting Gems:

Over the course of a few months some of Reggie's skin gems will grow to a certain width and fall off, much like the skin of a snake. However, his skin gems can also be tugged off by a considerable amount of force, which is incredibly painful. New gems will eventually form in the space left by either event, but it will take longer for a new gem to form in place of a tugged off one because his body hasn't been warned about the change, thus taking longer to heal.

*** Spaces left by molting usually have smaller gems already forming beneath the old one. Spaces left behind after a gem is tugged off by force leave a wound that varies with size and depth depending on how big the gem was and how "deep the set" was in his skin.

Appearance:

User Image

Eyes: Medium red
Hair Color: Very deep red
Hair Style: Half shaved, small mohawk combo
Markings/Features/Oddities: Garnets encrusted in his skin, large gems on the backs of his hands, finger nails and toe nails are gems instead of nails.
Height: 5'4"
Physique: Thin, lean, some muscle. Pretty average.
Fashion: Loose, casual, simplistic. Easy to wash and change out of. T-shirts, casual slacks, sandals, white socks, or no shoes. Manageable. Jackets are often oversized.
Feel free to use Ryan here as a reference for his clothes. :3
Accessories: A simple garnet drop necklace.

Personality:

Traits: Humored, impatient, responsible, self-conscious

Reggie's the big brother type, the kind of boy you'd see actively playing with his siblings, watching over them, and generally taking charge when out and about with them. He likes to be able to lend a hand when needed and keep track of things if asked, because it makes him feel needed and important to the family. The same thing can be said about social relationships outside of the family, like school and hanging out with friends. He likes to be able to guide, offer assistance, and be there when someone needs his help.

While he is responsible, Reggie likes his wiggle room. He enjoys goofing off and playing games, maybe pranking a friend or plotting a surprise party. Jokes are good way of telling you that he's comfortable with you and wants to play around. His responsible nature is balanced by the humorous side, which prevents him from becoming too rigid or high strung.

However, in contrast, Reggie is self-conscious. He worries about how he presents himself to people or how his gems look with his hair parted one way. He also doesn't like having a ton of attention on him, either. Too many eyes upon him scares him and makes him feel uncomfortable. Also, Reggie can be impatient. He doesn't like to wait for people, or food, or things, for more than he thinks he has to. Did you say five minutes and you happen to have taken eight? Yeah, he counted, and he's pondering whether or not you're as responsible as he is because of you three minute overtime. While he may not complain about this, he will remember it and count how many times you've made him wait. It makes him feel like he'll have a case against you if you abandon him or something.

[Outfit 1: Teaching/Tutoring] [Outfit 2: Hiking/Bad weather] [Outfit 3: Sleepwear] [Outfit 4: Everyday/Default]

Personality:

Garrick Brambleclove is just about the most gruff, disagreeable man you could ever have the honor of shaking hands with. He's surly, unfiltered and doesn't like to beat around the bush during conversation. If he doesn't like you, you'll find out pretty quickly, he's about as opinionated and blunt as they come. This weak-backed tutor moves at his own damn pace, and if you dare to hurry him along, you'd best know how to duck from a swinging cane. While he is fully capable of controlling his temper, he prefers to let his emotions fly out into the world around him without an anchor to reel them back in. He gets an odd feeling of satisfaction from the reactions people give him after a good rant or two. It's one of his only sources of amusement.

With irritability and crudeness aside, Garrick is a rather simplistic, low maintenance man. He likes his rituals, his daily cup of coffee, his favorite book, and a good shot of brandy or two in the evening to help him sleep. He doesn't fret much over the state of his hair or his clothing, and you can be assured that he could care less about how you look on any given day. As an accomplished tutor, Garrick values the mind and what it can accomplish rather than how much money you make and where you get your hair done. Idle gossip bores him into a glazed over state, or if you're ever so lucky, directly into the realm of sarcastic comments and gestures. If you really want to get him talking, without fear of disrupting his good mood, picking topics about nature, education or antiques would be the best bet. You can engage Garrick in meaningful discussions, as long as you don't start trying to sell him something, he has a strong distaste for unwanted salesmen. Even if you're selling something he has interest in, it's always best to ask him permission before you make your sales pitch.

While he may not care too much for the appearance of himself or others, Garrick has a degree of pride for the stasis of his home and property. After working tirelessly for years as a tutor to afford his lovely fruit orchard homestead, he doesn't like to leave it neglected for too long. You'll often see him cutting the grass or picking fruit from the trees to keep his yard from becoming overgrown. His house is almost always clean and decorated nicely, something you wouldn't necessarily expect from a man with tied back unkempt hair and rough personality. He tends to be more welcoming and humorous when he's in the comfort of his own home, which is a nice surprise to those who stop over for dinner or come by for a tutoring session, but it's uncertain if this is because he's comfortable, because he has direct control over the environment, or if it's because he knows he can kick you out at any moment and not have to deal with any repercussions. Whatever it is, it's best to take his "hospitality" as a treat, because you may not catch him being this nice anywhere else in the world.

Likes:

- Coffee, tea
- Chocolate biscuits
- Relics, antiques
- Sleeping, resting
- Blunt, brash humor
- Champagne, brandy
- Yelling, telling people what to do
- Forests, lakes
- His house, his property
- Students who don't complain or are receptive to his teaching style
- Reggie (When he's in a good mood)
- Pretending to be a senile old man for kicks

Dislikes:

- Being hurried
- Wasps
- Bratty, entitled students
- Plums
- Being ignored
- Losing his cane, having his cane moved
- The absence of brandy or coffee
- Salesmen, Mormons coming to his door
- Preachy people
- Waking up early on his days off
- Reggie (When he's in a bad mood)
- Overprotective or coddling parents

History:

Garrick Isaac Brambleclove was born in the region of Helena to a very happy, but older couple. He was the third born in a family of five children, three girls and two boys, and was the only child to develop a love of learning rather than be content with the farming life he had been born into. He and his parents often butted heads about his "priorities", which to him meant leaving his intelligence to rot while he sowed the wheat on the farm. His hatred of farming extended up into his early teens until his mother's brother dropped by for an unexpected visit. His uncle was a scholar and an accomplished tutor from Faleen, which astounded young Garrick, he couldn't believe that he was related to such an intelligent person. That night, Garrick pleaded with his uncle to take him back to Faleen and tutor him, despite the lack of support from his parents. To his joy, his uncle agreed to tutor him and, the next weekend, he was on his way up to Faleen.

The trip had taken them ages but Garrick knew that it would be worth it in the end. Once situated in Faleen his uncle developed a rigorous routine of subjects and daily chores for him to complete during his stay, which Garrick took very seriously. He had longed for a chance to prove his intelligence ever since his parents first denied his request to seek higher education, and as the weeks rolled on, he was given the praise and feedback he so desperately craved. It was months later that his uncle would pat him on the head and introduce him to one of the very best tutors and educators that ever taught on the island of Faleen. He was being passed on upwards to a more adequate tutor and Garrick was more than ready to continue his journey.

Months turned into years and those years accumulated into a decade or more before he reached the end of his schooling and transitioned into the very role that had made the whole entire trip possible, the role of the tutor. Now a young man with white stubble growing upon his face, Garrick left Faleen with a higher sense of self and a mind filled to the brim with information. He had received letters from his home in Helena almost every weekend, usually from the desk of his brother, Thomas. But as he approached his childhood abode, he was greeted by the faces of a different family, one that was certainly not his own. He was told that his parents had died the previous year and all that was left over was given to their children, who had all gone and moved away. Garrick became distraught and left the property with a heavy heart. He hadn't received a letter from Thomas about their deaths, nor did he receive anything from their wills. More so, all efforts to contact his siblings either fell on deaf ears or were returned with spite. Garrick's family had all but disowned him when he left for Faleen, and there was nothing he could do to change it.

Over the next year or so Garrick rented a small house in Helena while he tried to reconnect with former friends. The family that he rented from, called the Turants, were very kindly to him and offered him all the love he could ask for. They had a lovely daughter, named Daisy Marie, who he fell head over heels for. After two years of wooing, courting and gift giving, Garrick finally asked Daisy's father for permission to marry his daughter. The happy couple were married in the middle of July, one month shy of the birth of Jonathan, Garrick's eldest child.

Nineteen years later, the Brambleclove family had moved to the region of Amies to be closer to where Daisy chose to work, the capital city of Aimes. Though they weren't a short walk away from the city, the family was very happy with the property that Garrick had chosen. After a much needed reunion with his siblings, Garrick was given a share of his parent's wealth, which Thomas had held onto for him. Combined with the money that he made tutoring, Garrick was able to buy a lovely, spacious property on a fruit orchard. It was lovingly dubbed "Brambleclove Farms" and earned the approval of all of the children. It had enough room to run in, grow in and play in, which was a big plus. Garrick was assured that everything would be in the clear for many years to come if they kept their little farm running during the peek fruit buying season while he tutored the many young men and women that come through their gates everyday. Life was a splendid as fresh apple cider.

Then, less than a year later, tragedy struck. The carriage that took Daisy to work in the city had crashed into a river and buried her under the wreckage, drowning her in the waters below. Garrick had been in the middle of a tutoring session when the telegraph arrived, and he broke down in tears. All of his dreams of growing old with the love of his life were smashed to pieces. While he waited for her body to be brought home for burial he couldn't bring himself to tell his daughter, Natalie Rose, about what happened. Though she was physically a teenager, she had the mental capabilities of a ten year old. Worse than that, she was still as innocent as a small child. But as they said their final farewells, all of his children broke down in sobs, and he, too, soon followed.

There were a few months of quiet in the household before Garrick felt the need to honor one of his wife's greatest wishes. He went down to a local orphanage and spent time with as many children as possible. Finally, a ten year old, red headed tomboy named Piper captured his heart, and the papers were signed. She was the perfect addition to the family after such a gutting tragedy and everyone, even the "perfect lady" Maisie, agreed. Piper was very much like Daisy, given that she was ever a tomboy, and Garrick knew that his wife would have been enamored with the girl just as he had been. Two years later, the family had began to form a steady routine again. With Maisie away studying etiquette with her grandmother and the addition of Daisy's brother, Roger, and his family's loving smiles popping up all around the property, a lulling calm has returned to the property.

But...

How long will this calm last?

Family:

Daisy: Wife; 46; Deceased Born Daisy Marie Turant, Daisy was the sweetheart of the Brambleclove household. Her kind heart and mothering touch was always something that Garrick looked forward to everyday when he came home. She died in an accident while traveling to the capital city of Aimes. The horses on her carriage were spooked and went berserk, landing the carriage in a river where Daisy drowned under the wreckage. She's buried on the Brambleclove orchard where her favorite pear trees used to stand.

Johnathan: Son; 22 Jonathan Brambleclove was born in the midst of a unusually hot summer day, which Garrick says is what caused him to become so damn lazy. Though well out of his teen years, John Boy, as his father calls him, hasn't made any effort to move out and get a job since he finished his schooling. He's a regular sweet talking moocher, says his father. You'll often see him out by the apple trees, snacking away on the pick of the crop like a greedy pig.

Maisie Daughter; 18 Unlike Jonathan, Maisie was born in the dead of winter, and grew to be as hard headed and strict as could be. As soon as she could talk, Maisie was handing out orders and taking down the names of those who "disobeyed" for "further notice." Mommy and daddy could barely keep up with their little tattle tale and were more than relieved when she packed her things and left to study etiquette with her maternal grandmother at 16. And when she returned for the holidays, she brought a list of "issues" for her family to "correct." Needless to say, Garrick was more than happy to wave his "little girl" good bye at the end of that month.

Natalie Rose: Daughter; 16 Natty Rose, as her doting daddy calls her, was born with a mental handicap that gives her the developmental age of a 10 year old girl. At the time of her birth there didn't appear to be a problem, but once she hit her early teens, clearly something just wasn't right. Her doctors recommended placing her in a mental hospital or even giving her up for adoption, but Daisy and Garrick couldn't give up on their precious baby girl. She was, and is still, as sweet and inquisitive as a child and her parents couldn't imagine their life without her. She can be found swinging on the rope swings near the lake or playing with her dolls in her bedroom.

Piper: Daughter; 12 The youngest of the Brambleclove family, and the only other adopted child! (Besides Reggie) Piper is the tomboy of the brood and always trying to butt in on her father's business. She was adopted when she was ten, shortly after Daisy had passed, and quickly latched herself onto her new father, "baby sister" Natty, and lazy older brother John Boy. Though she admits she loves Maisie, too, it's a struggle for the pair to get along when one likes wearing overalls and getting dirty and the other despises dirt and promotes "proper lady attire."

Roger: Brother-In-Law; 44 Roger David Turant is the perfect picture of what a crazy uncle should be. He brings over all the latest toys, offers ice cream to everyone and always has a joke book ready to go. Admittedly, Garrick finds him a bit bothersome, but the two get along rather swimmingly. When Daisy passed away, Roger took it upon himself to move closer to his brother-in-law and his nieces and nephew. Ever since then, Roger is a common sight on weekends and often drops by for dinner when Garrick least expects it. He probably won't admit it, but Garrick greatly appreciates Roger's kindness and love.

Dolly: Roger's wife; 44 Born Dolly Jean Braidbaum, Dolly was the perfect addition to the Turant family, and eventually, the Brambleclove as well. Dolly can be rather sporadic and clumsy, but that doesn't stop her from being one of the best friends a person can have. She's known as Mrs. Fix It because once she has a wrench and a problem to tend to, she won't stop working until the issue is resolved. She loves to follow Roger over to Garrick's house for dinner when she isn't off with her friends or helping someone out with their problems.

Oswald: Roger's son; 13 Ozzie Turant is the shy, skittish son of Dolly and Roger Turant, our simply Garrick's nephew. He's a very quiet child with little complaints about where he is or what he's doing. He stops by the house to study or play games with Piper and Natalie when the weather permits.

William: Roger's son; 4 Little Willie Turant has trouble keeping up with the rest of his family, mostly because of his partial blindness. But the tyke makes up for his lack of sight with his nosy, giggly demeanor. Garrick often laughs and says that he'll turn out just like his father one day if he keeps trying to read his father's joke books upside down.

Beatrix: Roger's daughter; 9 months Beatrix Turant was born nine months ago while her parents were out on a morning walk. While her time of birth was quite a surprise, the baby herself is actually mellow and even tempered. Garrick hopes and prays that she remains that way...

Floss, Dover, and Pace: Garrick keeps three pets that he holds very near and dear. Floss is an elderly female Collie with a loyal, sweet disposition. The family has had her since they moved in before Jonathan was born. Dover is a young male Ferret that popped up on the property and "assumed" the pet status after being fed and let inside the home. He's a sneaky little bugger that likes to steal the food off of your plate. Finally, Pace is your typical mix breed cat, he lays around on the floor and sleeps most of the day away. Sometimes, if you pick him up off the floor, he curls up in your arms and lets you cradle him like a baby.

Residence:

The Brambleclove family lives in a good sized home on a spacious fruit orchard in the region of Amies. Though it once held massive rows of apple, orange and pear trees, there are some areas that have been cleared or sold for the purpose of creating space for vegetable gardens, sheds and, sadly, graves for those who have passed in the family. Garrick still maintains his property and sells his fruit when he has surplus, but most of the time he has just enough for his family to eat on their own. At the end of the property there is a small lake that is open to swimming in the summer and a rope swing or two to play on.

What I Need To Work On

Critique from Aric Val (1/22/13)

"I would love to see Reggie's personality and the way he reacts and socializes with other people (may it be friends or enemies). I just think you should add more about what his fears are/what makes him happy and how he would react to certain situations too (:"

> Update personality to reflect this part of the critique

(Updated personality: Fear of getting lost, abandoned, kidnapped, and/or exploited for his skin gems. Interacts well with younger children, loves to baby sit and care for family.

"The traits seem fine but that's still up for changing! Though I'm certain the happy and healthy trait wont be approved because it's quite overpowered for sure especially if there is no drawback to that skill."

> Consider a new trait or adding one previously discussed. (Skin gems fall off, can be pulled off and cause extreme pain or wounds if not pulled off properly)

(Removed happy/healthy trait and added " gem molting" trait)

"I like Garrick! he's very interesting, I guess I should say it's just easier to play one guardian and one dust too for obvious reasons. I'd prefer just mostly him but I suppose that's up to you! XD But yeah I do appreciate his family and all of his history, I think they both would make a nice dynamic. But I'd also would kind of like to see a bit more of how Reggie and Garrick would be on a normal day since they're kind of opposite!"

> Write brief solos with Garrick only
a. Father/son day in town, get lost and become distraught, find Garrick and be called a wuss for crying about getting lost. (Get hugs later...?)
b. Get tutored by Garrick, loathe everything, escape and hide in the apple trees until night falls. Get accidentally locked out of the house and cry until Garrick comes to open the door.
c. Refuse to do homework and drive Garrick insane.
d. Garrick catches a cold and can't work. Suddenly become servant.
e. Catch Garrick's cold and become very withdrawn while sick in bed. Garrick entertains and stays up with him until he falls asleep. (Father/son d'awww moment)

> Write brief solos of family life without Garrick (Siblings/other family)
a. Jonathan is a lazy twit, eat apples and goof off all day, big brother is awesome
b. Maisie drops by for a visit, nags non-stop, try to escape
c. Play dress up with Natalie Rose, have fun...?
d. Wrestle and cause mayhem with Piper, Piper is as awesome as John Boy.
e. Uncle Roger and Aunt Dolly stop by, read comics, talk about fixing crap, fall in love with how cute baby Beatrix is.
f. John Boy drinks too much brandy while babysitting everyone, including Oswald, Willie and Beatrix. Assume responsibility for everyone until dad comes home from town.

> Write two journal entries from Reggie's point of view
a. Family life, current events, friends
b. School is prison, some people need to shut up, "This sucks"

> Write two journal entries from Garrick's point of view
a. Update about life, Reggie causing problems/humor, etc...
b. Work, stress, "I need more brandy"

The Semblance of Unity

Predestined Victim

How has not having traditional parents helped shape Alistair? Would he be radically different if his original parents hadn't died? or was the old man parent enough?

How does Alistair deal with Christina's hissy fits, specially concerning women he talks to? As she grows older, how far would she go to prevent a woman from taking interest in him?

If Christina is not openly socialable and Alistair mainly goes out for nighttime gatherings, would he take her along? How would she meet other Dusts?

What are some traits related to her essence? You mentioned she might have dust swirling around her, is this constant or at will? Can she control small amounts of wind?

The Semblance of Unity

Growing up in the Orphanage was like having one huge family to Alistair. He was younger than two years when he was orphaned, so he really has nothing to work with in terms of a "traditional family." I suppose you could say that "coming from nothing" has helped shape his good natured personality, but in terms of mentality and lack of parents, he had enough people around him growing up to shape his life in a healthy way.
The old man came into his life when Alistair was 18 and, though he felt like an older guiding figure, never parented Alistair. He helped shape Alistair's career path, gave him a sense of direction and was a close friend that branched into a family-friend status.

Alistair feels frustrated and annoyed with Christina's "hissy fits" but he develops ways to keep them in check. There's a difference between Christina's possessiveness and her anger towards those that actually harm him. When he's with a women or another person, she'll tug on his arm, whine a little, maybe chuck a few rocks and spin some dust to get attention, but she'd never try to physically harm them. Unless they person tries to hurt her or Alistair, her possessiveness never reaches the point of physical altercations.
Christina will grow out of the whiny, bratty possessiveness when she's older. She'll probably still be keen on his safety, but as a teenager, she'll be mature enough to know that daddy can have friends and he can take care of himself.

Christina isn't anti-social. She likes to sit and watch, but if someone were to come over and strike up a conversation with her or meet her on a walk outside, she wouldn't avoid them or try to get away. She just wouldn't be the one to jump up and start chatting to others. In no way is she a homebody either, she likes being outdoors and being around people. She would be able to meet other dusts just like everyone else. <3

The dust that swirls around is something she would need to learn how to properly control and can only be made if there is a source of "dust" available. (Sawdust, dirt, powders...etc) Plus, when she's angry, this trait is very hard to control. (Dust storms! D8 )
Also, she would be able to manipulate wind, but only in small sizes and for short amounts of time. (Micro-tornadoes, short gusts of wind, soft breezes...etc)

Another one I don't have much to comment on. XD

Just curious, if someone gets on Christina's bad list, is it possible to get off and perhaps back onto the good list? (ie, someone perhaps unintentionally does something to hurt her or her feelings but sincerely apologizes for it later)

Also, does she believe her daddy can do no wrong? How does she handle her father's blurting and women's reactions to that? And what about his drinking? Though it doesn't appear he has a problem, he does like his beer and it seems to be a trigger for his loose tongue. XD

Yes, it is possible to get off of the bad list, which is hard to get on in the first place. XD You would have to prove that you mean what you say in terms of the apology, but it isn't that difficult for her to forgive someone. Unless you've physically harmed her or Alistair, a sincere apology is all you'd need.

Alistair is usually able to reason with Christina and explain to her that he said or did something that warrants the reaction. Once he does that, Christina becomes skeptical of the person but will drop any need to attack because daddy reassured her.
Child stage Christina won't understand his drinking and will regard it as a normal part of who her daddy is. As a teen, she'll become more aware of it and may become embarrassed by it.
Alistair doesn't have a drinking problem, but if he happens to have more than three bottles at a gathering, he gets a little tipsy. He doesn't get drunk at home, because of Christina and because he finds that his work is impaired if he gets drunk at home. So, you'd find him tipsy at a party and sober any other time.

Pidgeons Go Meow X3

Hi! (:
First off I actually really like the essence of the dust you have chosen, pretty original and I like it. To start with I'm not that crazy about the proposed appearance but I can work with it. Just mind that it may not look exactly the same as what you'd picture in here.

The personality looks good, I think you are on the right track but I'd certainly want things expounded upon or explained in more detail if you can. Such as--why does she have rulings over certain topics? Why do some things make her uncomfortable or make her have a stronger reaction to it? I do like the similarity of how she gets mad and waking that 'devil' inside of her though, and--yeah just basically expound on. What makes her excited? What traits of her are good and how specifically does she treats people who she likes. She seems very attached to her guardian, what happens if he is to go away for a while? And is she okay to go with other dusts/friends without her dad.

I'm alright with Alastair, I did approve him beforehand too so that's alright. c: though I'd be also concerned his drinking and womanizing would affect Christina drastically.

Aric Val

Hi!

Thank you! I had some help from Nikiana, I would have fallen into an idea block if it weren't for her. <3
Her current appearance was drawn by me and I have to agree, I'm not crazy about it either. I'm toying with doll makers right now, so she may change soon. The amount of change may be significant or just a bit, so keep on the look out for an idea dump for her appearance.

I'll update her personality to expand upon what you've commented on. I was concerned that I would write a huge wall of text, which I do a lot, and that would be a bother to read. |3 I may even change some aspects of her personality.

Well, Alistair isn't a chronic drinker and tries to abstain from drinking at home. His work, carpentry and home making, requires him to be as sharp as a tack at all times to avoid injuring himself. He is well aware of what he could happen to him if he were to drink on the job or drink himself silly in his own home.

Thus, parties and social gatherings are where he happens to get tipsy or drunk. He feels safe, surrounded by other people who are having a good time just as he is. Yes, he can lose himself at a party and come home zonked or wake up hungover, but he doesn't party every night of the week. Most of the time he'll be sober and ready to take on the day like a regular person. All he needs to learn is to limit himself at parties.

As for "womanizing", I'm not sure what you mean by that. He speaks his mind and doesn't hold back, no matter who he's talking to. He'll be as rude to a pompous man as he is to a pompous woman. If you meant that he harasses women or deliberately bothers them, that isn't the case. He's a fool with a very loose mouth that happens to blurt out the wrong things at the wrong times and gets a smack for it. He doesn't intend on insulting someone unless he's insulted, otherwise, he really doesn't mean to insult you. He speaks what's on his mind without a filter.

Before I colored her current appearance, I listed some colors that I liked. I chose the darker colors for the specific sketch, but I think some of the orange, tan, blonde-ish colors might look better is she had curly or wavy hair. What do you guys think? (Click on the thumbnail for the full image. It was too big to post as full view. <3)

Also, just for some feedback and help with decisions on her appearance, I wrote some ideas down in the extra post I had after the reserved post.

From What I Need To Work On
>> Appearance:

> New hair style? (Keep short, or bottle opener ringlets, waves, wispy hair?)
> New hair color? (Keep brown, tan, rusty orange, mixed?)
> Eye color? (Stay dark, dusty orange, or tan?)
> Clothes? (Keep the dress, leave up to Auric Val, or back doll maker/Google images search?)
> Skin color? (Keep skin pale or brown, brown-orange, sienna?)
> Markings? (Dust swirls on skin?)

I'm VERY OPEN to input from all of you! Do you guys have any suggestions or ideas for me in regards to her appearance? :3

As far as appearance goes, i would definitely go with something that better embodies the swirling and changeable nature of a dust devil. If you kept short hair, like idk close cropped, it would provide a good contrast to a more swirling type of clothing, something that moves with her.
It's different for everybody, but when i first says 'dust devil' i imagined a little girl with big eyes, short cropped hair, long swirling robes/dress, i think a medium brown is still good for hair. As far as skin, i think both pale or a chocolate brown would work. The dust swirls i think are an interesting touch, for a more chaotic look, they could be dusty smudges instead.
Eyes: rusty brown, or even something very light, that could invoke the wind that fuels a dust devil.

Feaatures i like best:
hair = cropped close or bottlebig ringlets
eyes = rusty brown or super light colored
skin = swirls or smudges, either end of the spectrum for color (ie really pale or rather dark)
clothes = something that moves with her.

I've gone all rambly, but i hope this helps?orz *slinks off*
