Eternal Sailor Kallichore was on the move.

She'd been heinously bored throughout her new patrol route. She'd snaked her way through the downtown shopping center and found nothing. A detour through the manufacturing district netted zero. The college area was blissfully (and annoyingly) quiet as well. She was ready to call it a night after a quick run through the parks district when she felt a peculiar presence next to one she hated the feel of.

Youma and... was that... chibi?

Disgusting.

The eternal had dropped from her position up on the nearby buildings and spotted the youma. It was almost like an octopus just toying with this poor little boy! Enraged, she ran at the thing to give it a swift kick to the head. "Let him go! Pick on someone your own size!"

"Hey, you're Ganymede's friend, right??"

The question threw Kallichore for a loop. Was she someone Ganymede would call friend? She wasn't sure. They'd had a great many disagreements in the past. Ganymede was a pacifist - she was not. She was a bloodthirsty psychopath at times. Did they ever see eye-to-eye? Would Ganymede ever come to terms with how hard Kallichore was trying to change for the better? Was she worthy enough to be called Ganymede's friend?

Now's not the time--!

The octoyouma's great tentacles swung and Kallichore had to backflip out of the way to avoid being crushed. She'd have to answer the chibi senshi about the whole 'friend of Ganymede' thing when there wasn't a youma to deal with. "Are you alright?!" she called, trying to dodge another swing of tentacles that looked as thick as a small car. Youma were mindless beasts - she knew that for a fact. But the eternal still couldn't believe even mindless beasts would stoop so low as to attack children.

Rolling into a standing position, she called out an attack and aimed it for the youma. "Surge of the Maddened!"

(( Target sees and hears things that are not there for 30 seconds. ))

"Well... that went better than I had expected." was all she could say, really.

There was still tension in her body like she had expected things to last longer. Easing out of it was a bit difficult, but with a roll of her shoulders, things seemed to loosen up a bit. The eternal walked over to the chibi senshi and offered him a hand. She'd never really seen one up close. "Are you alright?" she asked, leaning over to brush some of the stinky tar and sand out of the boy's hair. Suddenly she felt very motherly and it was all sorts of awkward. The last thing she wanted to do was look like a creeper to this poor kid who nearly got crushed by a giant death-wielding octopus.

"Looks like you didn't even need my help, did you?" Kallichore chuckled. "You had all the power you needed right in those shoes of yours. Does all badassery come in small packages, or is it just you?" Oops, probably shouldn't swear in front of the kids. How old is this little guy? Nine? What was he doing out so late without a chaperon, or at the very least, a Guardian Cat to watch over him? Some things in the war simply made no sense.

Kallichore blushed slightly and looked away. "Well... you're welcome. You did deal the finishing blow so... you should congratulate yourself on that. It's not easy to take down a youma, much less one that big."

The eternal watched the boy curiously. He seemed completely unfazed. Maybe he was naturally resilient or he'd come to terms with it later. Either way he seemed unharmed and rather... cheerful, despite his ordeal. Kallichore sincerely hoped it wouldn't come back later in his life to bite him. Children had a unique way of letting the weight of the world slide off their shoulders like so much water. Kallichore knelt down next to the boy, letting her sleeves devour her arms in a pool of white fabric. "It's very nice to meet you, Oberon. I'm Kallichore, Senshi of Madness."

She vaguely remembered seeing the boy on the moon and at the meeting as well. Was it he the boy Valhalla and Ganymede were trying to protect? "Yes, we can go to the moon. That's something I didn't expect. First my own moon and now Earth's moon." The gray haired senshi tilted her head. Surely a Senshi of Adventure would have visited his own celestial home? "Have you been to your own star? Or is Oberon a comet? Or even a moon? I'm afraid I don't know."

It was probably painfully obvious that Kallichore had little to no experience interacting with someone much younger than she. She couldn't predict where he would go next in their conversation or how he would react to something. This Oberon was very resilient. Kallichore admired that trait in people regardless of their age.

It would serve him well.

The eternal nodded with a slight smile. "Yes. Madness, like going crazy. That's what I did to the youma." she explained, pulling her hands out of her sleeves to look at them. "That's why my fuku always looks like this too, but it was more torn apart when I was Super." Truth be told, it had taken her a while to get used to how revealing her eternal fuku now was, but thank the moon for small favors - her long sleeves could cover most of it. "What do your powers do, Oberon? Have you tested them?"

When the boy flipped his phone out of subspace, Kallichore regarded him curiously. She was never a technological wizard - she could operate something to an intermediate level but nothing beyond that. No coding, no intricate button sequences. She could surf the net and do some word processing but that was the extent of her abilities. This child though... maybe he could help her with her project? It couldn't hurt to ask. "Ah, Oberon? ...if I may..." Why was she nervous? Was this too much to ask a kid? He seemed to really know what he was doing. Children were innovative and brilliant little things. "I have a project I could use some help with. I'm no good with these phones... do you think you could help put something I wrote down into a database or something like that?"

"Ganymede? Bouncy and fearless?" Now that is something I'd pay to see. The eternal was about to ask whether his adventurous powers had something to do with bravery but the puppy dog eyes stopped her cold. Kallichore gave Oberon a funny, why on earth would I even want to tell on you? look and frowned.

"Of course I won't tell, but we need to get you home in one piece, Oberon. If youma think you're a tasty snack, you'll need someone to escort you home." She stood, brushing herself off. She held out a hand to her chibi companion. "Children shouldn't be out this late anyway. We can discuss the details of the project later, okay? I just want to make sure you're home in one piece. We can meet again soon? You have me in your phone now."

Kallichore didn't want the chibi to try going home alone and find out another youma had attacked him when she could have stopped it.
