He'd heard some rather disturbing rumors about something that had happened in the labs, something that had to do with Sasha and Jerry. While Jordan didn't trust Sasha anymore, not since she'd changed, what he'd heard about the confrontation had bothered him, and bothered him a lot. Jerry was his friend. He hadn't been keeping an eye on Jerry as much lately, and maybe he should have.
Some conversations were better had in public spaces, to keep the reactions under control. Jordan nursed a cup of coffee in the cafeteria until he saw Jerry come in for dinner. He waited until his friend had gotten his food and sat down, then got up from his chair in the corner and made his way over to where Jerry had picked a table, sitting down across from him. "Hey, man," he said by way of greeting.

Jerry hovered over his meal. He knew he should eat. He needed to eat. Roar kept insisting he eat, but he wasn't hungry. He poked at his food, slumped alone at the table. Clusters of other hunters all chit chatted and laughed and joked and mingled around him, but not him.
He fumbled with his flask under the table, about to unscrew the cap when suddenly there was movement across from him and a voice that made him flinch and fumble. It was immediately tucked away again as he spotted Jordan, his face going red.
"Hi," was all he managed.

Jordan's eyebrows arched as Jerry hurriedly fumbled something out of sight and reddened. "Hi," he returned evenly. "What was that?"

"W-what was what?" He stabbed a potato with a fork, keeping his eyes away from Jordan.

"Whatever you hid," Jordan replied, leaning on the table and sipping his coffee. He made his expression sympathetic, watching Jerry, even though the other man wouldn't meet his eyes. "I hear you've been having a rough time lately."

He twisted the fork, the potato falling in half. "Mmm."

Jordan's eyes narrowed. "Dude. You've got to take care of yourself better."

"I try," Jerry muttered, and stuffed his mouth full as an excuse to not elaborate.

"W-what do you want, Jordan?" He finally snapped, panic spurting bits of potato across the table.

Jordan's eyebrows went up further. "I can't keep you company at dinner without an ulterior motive?"

"Seems like that's the only reason anyone talks to me these days," He muttered, huddling over his tray again.

Jordan's expression softened, though he was careful to keep pity out of it. "I haven't talked to you much lately. I don't want you to feel lonely."
