There hadn't been a time in which Valhalla was so desperately looking for a fight before, but here he was, trying to lure out youma from the city and the outskirts, wanting to throw them one after another at Zia.

It wasn't because he wanted her to get hurt. Hell, that's why he was there, his compass at the ready, waiting for any sign in which she desperately needed help. There was a fine line between being in danger and on the edge of awakening.... but putting her life at risk was not a line he was willing to cross over. He cared about her too much to let her get seriously injured.

But there was a point to all this.

No more than a few days ago, he'd seen a memory on Valhalla of none other than Zia herself. Well, her past life... it must have been! How else could he explain how similar they appeared??

"Are you okay?" he called from the edge of the trees around the center of the park where a large rodent-like youma was advancing upon Zia. He'd made sure to at least give her a weapon (one of his bats) and to keep a first aid kit near by... He didn't want to take too many risks, but if they could get her to awaken... It would all be worth it.

Zia was notably less enthusiastic, and was a little more concerned about a tweaked wrist from a non-supernatural related fight, and she wasn't very concerned about that at all. She had even vanished from a youma conflict out of the blue only to return with a cup of coffee.

She refused to power up, too, but considering Valhalla seemed really intent on curing her of that particular quirk, she was glad he didn't even ask her too.

"Oh calm down," She said, watching the advancing youma with a deadpan expression and sipping her coffee. Why would she be afraid of youma again? She'd only been almost eaten by one like eleventy bajillion times, and the worst they'd done was either be really disgusting or in the case of one made out of rock, leave a small scar from splitting her knuckles open.

And speaking of her hands, she noticed an air bubble in her nail polish and was suddenly really pissed off about that. "Aw, damn it," She complained, just picking at the polish for a moment. At least she came out and about in a practical jeans/hoodie/sneakers combo.

Oh, and also rat youma. It lunged at Zia and she simply kicked it in the face like a stray soccer ball, barely even glancing at it. Because her coffee spilled.

"Ugggh, this isn't working, I want to go home," It was cold and everything sucked. There was no way she was going to go along with this happily. He was lucky she even left her apartment, obviously she needed to be babysat too.

The youma had only been enraged at being kicked and was up in seconds, the way Zia hit it with the bat seemed more like an annoyed 'go away' than legitimately trying to dust it.

"You have to focus," Valhalla said in exasperation, keeping his compass ready to reverse any kind of movement that might put Zia in unnecessary danger. "You're not going to awaken unless you focus."

He frowned at her as he watched, a hand on his hip now that he didn't think she'd need much help. She knew how to handle herself quite well, but that didn't mean he wasn't going to worry that she was going to get hurt or... something.

"Maybe if you try focusing on different planets?" he wondered out loud, figuring he might share in his revelation with her. "I'm... not sure what planet you're from... I don't remember seeing any symbol in the memory," he admitted rather sheepishly, "But you could go one at a time? Or... I don't know... But we can't go home yet!"

Valhalla was sure in what he saw. She was a knight. She had to be a knight. There was no other explanation. Maybe if she awoke to those powers, it would be enough to kick Zirconia out of her body... That had to be something, right?? It would give her a chance at a normal life again.

Or as normal a life as a knight could have...

Zia actually thought the idea of focusing on planets was a good one! Until he announced he had no idea which one. The end of the bat in her hands, which was now gripped with both hands now that she had given up on her spilled coffee, hit the soft ground with a muffled vibration.

"Are you kidding me?" She said and rolled her eyes, and entire head while she was at it. "Well what colors was she wearing?" She asked, taking another swing at the rat youma, which made a sickening crack as the pathetic creature's bones, or whatever youma were using as structural support, broke at the first limb and it struggled around pathetically, screeching in pain.

"Ew," Zia just muttered, and waited for Valhalla's answer on the color situation.

"Sorry!" he snapped in exasperated defensiveness, shifting from one foot to the other as he fought back the flush in his face. How as he supposed to know to pay attention to what she was wearing or what symbol had been on her outfit! His past self didn't always wear the symbol of Jupiter! Er... okay, maybe he did, but it was subtle! It wasn't, like... always obvious... Maybe...

"I... I don't remember," he admitted, gritting his teeth in frustration at himself for not paying attention to things like that. Again, how was he supposed to know it would be important later on?? "The memory only lasted a few seconds!" he said in his defense, trying not to make it sound like he was just making up lame excuses... which was really all it was.

"She was... uh... I don't know. I was kind of distracted by her hair and face," he said with a wince as she beat up the youma.

"I think you need a stronger opponent," he mumbled, before attempting to further remember the outfit. "I... I think she was wearing green," but he wouldn't bet his life on it.

Zia's brow dropped into a cartoonish look of displeasure. Maybe if it was BLUE or something that could narrow it down, but green was only on, um, everybody. Almost, at least.

Still, the first thing she tried was Jupiter. that was easy, especially if she'd been at the fortress, this mysterious suspected past life of hers she was still fairly convinced was a load of s**t.

Though when she dusted the youma, it didn't work, and she wondered if it was because she was thinking of Zeus instead. She'd only been to Jupiter once, okay! She had memories of going to Zeus a million times.

"Ugh..." She sighed, staring at the dust pile, already discouraged when she wasn't very encouraged in the first place.

"I'm going home," She muttered, picking up the bat and resting it on her shoulder. She was totally keeping this thing. "I have work tomorrow. But!... um... we can try again tomorrow?" She didn't want to be too much of a downer when poor Valhalla seemed to have his hopes so high.
