"Come again?"

Zia pushed the hang up button on the phone in her hands and turned to focus a pretty ticked off glare at the boy whose apartment she had been invading fairly regularly on the weekends now. She had arrived on time, even without invitation now, and completely ignoring the fact their last night together went way, way out of the norm, and she reacted by getting the hell out of there before he woke up.

It seemed to have been forgotten entirely when she showed up today.

After the usual bullshitting about idiots they'd encountered over the course of the day and stupid news stories and Zia's small rant on the grammatical failures and unethical baiting behavior of the Yahoo journalism crew, it was finally, finally pizza time. No fancy dinner, no bistro, no needing to walk anywhere or do anything, just lazy ordering in and TV time. It seemed so perfect.

Until Pascal decided what he wanted, which is what prompted the sudden hang up and incredulous annoyance. Clearly this was going to take longer to figure out than she was going to submit the poor person taking their order to.

"You're kidding," She said, watching his expression for some hint that yes, he was totally kidding. Please be kidding. But he wasn't. Ew.

"I'm not ordering that, that's disgusting," She said stubbornly, completely ignoring it was his apartment, his phone, and his pizza.

Pascal had been a little surprised to see that Zia hadn't stormed into his apartment screaming at him about how he took advantage of her state of mind last week. Now he would have agreed that he manipulated the situation to get what he wanted but after they had gotten back to his place he had to admit that it was actually possible Zia had been the one taking advantage of him. The girl was like a wild animal! Of course, that was definitely not a turn off and Pascal didn't mind in the least. It did help his conscious, the little bit he typically had, though. Who would have guessed she'd be freaking out about pizza toppings?

"I am most certainly not kidding! Who doesn't put pineapple and olives on their pizza?" He seemed appalled that she even asked, a twitch forming on his lips. How could it possibly be a joke, really Zia? How could she be asking if he was kidding? It should be he who was asking her!

"It's my apartment, my phone, and definitely my pizza! I bet you've never even tried it before!"

"I don't need to 'try' it," Zia said, making air quotations as best she could with the cordless receiver in hand. "You don't put fruit on pizza, Lalande, it's just wrong." Of course she was freaking out about pizza toppings. If there was anything Zia was taking seriously these days, it was food.

And after a minute of thinking, "Especially with olives. Eugh, how do you even call it a pizza if it doesn't have meat on it anyway?" This was a legit question. "For the love of crap, it's a pizza, not a fruit salad."

When he made the comment about it being his phone and his apartment, she decided she wasn't going to put down the phone for anything, lest they end up trapped here with nothing to eat but his horrifying idea of a toppings combination. And by trapped she meant too lazy to make the effort to go elsewhere. She instead she just held it back like she intended to play keep away and stuck her tongue out at him.

The twitch in Pascal's lip grew and soon he was down right annoyed.

"Wrong? Wrong? What's wrong is you refuse to even try it! And just so you know even salads have meat! May I quote the more popular chicken caesar salad? Of course it has met on it Zia! What sort of freak would I be of I didn't put pepperoni and cheese on my pizza!" There was an abrupt pause in his rant. "Or maybe you don't like those either."

Zia holding hostage of his phone caused Pascal to make a swim for the phone and miss, his counter happening to be grabbing her wrist and holding firm.

"Give me the phone Zia, I promise I won't put cheese and pepperoni on it since I know how much you hate it."

"Shut. Up. Don't lecture me on salads, kay, I was skinny Crystal b***h, I'm well acquainted with salads," Something Zia rarely talked about was how obsessively she shunned food back in her pre-Zirconia days, but had thankfully gotten over enough body issues to not be bordering on dangerous dieting. Either way, she was disgusted now by the mere concept of substituting a full meal with a few sorry pieces of bunny food. "Pepperoni is fine, but--" Suddenly he made a grab for the phone, and when she moved it out of his way, he grabbed her. She held the phone up over her head back as far back away from him as she could bend while being held in place. She might've been half a foot shorter than him in flats, but in her boots she was only an inch or two off from matching him.

"Nyah," She said, making a face to tease him again and tried to squirm out of his grip, unsuccessfully. So she ended up kicking him in the shin.

"Oh shut up. I'm not ordering that!" Pepperoni, cheese and olives were downright livable, even if it wasn't her favorite, but not pineapples. Never pineapples.

"********!" He grunted, releasing his grip on her wrist to comfort his shin. Out of all the girls he courted in his life, he could tell Zia would be the one to hurt him the most. Did he think she'd break his heart? No, but after trying to break his nose and now her attempt to cripple him, he was certain this was going to be one bumpy relationship.

"Do you always have to hit me?" He asked, raising his voice a bit. Okay, so this might be the first time she hit Pascal but he still had the memory of what she didn't. "And over pizza?" She maybe not be skinny anymore buy se still had b***h down pack. Fortunately for her, he played a*****e flawlessly.

"Was a skinny Crystal b***h? Well? I don't see how much changed there other than your dress size." There was a pause and immediately he went right back to the topic of pizza as if he hadn't just implied she was fat. "Just shut up and pick the pineapple like a normal person!"

Zia had quickly bounced across the room once she was freed, though when he complained about being kicked, she snorted. "You grabbed me! Don't be such a little b***h," the 'again' threw her for a loop, but he was acting like such an a*****e she wondered if he was confusing her with another girlfriend who reached her wits end and smacked him around a little. It was entirely possible she had gotten overly defensive at the way he grabbed her, with her 'everything's out to get me' attitude, but then he had to go and call out her dress size and her jaw practically hit the floor.

She had to shake off being stunned and offended before she could argue her point.

"NO! You can't pick off the pineapple and pretend it was never there, the juice will have already made the cheese gross. it's like their essence will still be there, yanno?" But now there was a much, much more important issue at hand. She had gone up a few dress sizes since Crystal, and the fact he pointed it out made her a combination of paranoid and enraged.

"Did you really just call me fat?" She asked with far more genuine venom.

Don't be a little b***h? He couldn't say the same thing for her, now could he? He simply snorted in response to her fleeing to te other side of the room, throwin her a cocky smile that simply said he could get her again if he wanted.

Her idea that the pineapple juice would ruin the cheese was absurd. Did he not pineapples? He suspected that wasn't the case. The way she was acting was similar to a child who simply refuse to try anything she didn't want to. She wanted it her way and only her way! There was nothing wrong with pineapples! Especially not on pizza.

"So just to get this right, you like pineapples and are just being fussy right?" He asked but he didn't need an answer to know.

Then finally Zia caught up to speed, or at least that's how Pascal thought of it.

"Did you really just kick me?" That answered that.

Zia just narrowed her eyes at the cocky smile. He wanted to manhandle her again? Bring it on. She'd just cripple the other leg. She just tossed the phone receiver from one hand to the next, half challenging him to try it again.

"I don't like pineapples on pizza," She said with an exaggerated eye roll. Why was that so hard to get? Although his stupid, smug face was making her want to forget using the phone and just break it on his face.

His answer just made things worse. "You grabbed me!" She snarled, but it defensive. She just wanted to make it his fault this had gone from a bratty argument to something more serious. But it was too late, he already hit the nerve, and she just threw the phone down
PostPosted: Sun Nov 04, 2012 1:41 pm

Her responses were the responses of a child! They bratty argument had escalated into a nasty mess due to both of them being so uncompromising. She was acting like e had attacked her when he hadn't even hit her. It left a nasty taste in his mouth as he felt compared to his father.

"It's not like I hit you! You're the one who kicked me!"

And then the b***h threw down his phone.

"Sure, take it out on the phone too."

Zia had her own version of events which more or less consisted of desperately trying to push all the blame on him to avoid admitting she had freaked out and just kind of crossed her arms and glared in another direction to avoid looking at him. Even if she had been wrong initially, he was still an a*****e, and god forbid she roll over and bare her neck now.

Uncompromising was ten times harder when you were practically looking in your mirror image of stubbornness.

"Well what now?" She finally snapped, trying to keep it moving. If it lingered it'd just fester, but maybe if they moved this along they could get back to hating things that weren't each other.
PostPosted: Sun Nov 04, 2012 3:12 pm

Stubborn? Try immortalized in stone! Pascal simply looked at her when she asked what now, and then he approached her like a tiger: swift and determined. They were never going to get pizza at this rate so arguing was pointless. He was still hungry though. What now? What now? Pascal's amber-cast eyes fell over Zia's lavender locks as his hand fell on her curvy hips.

He didn't say a word, and instead he used his mouth for something better: kissing her.

Zia met his advances with a glare. The kiss caught her pretty off guard, though, and she reacted like she was caught between reciprocating and fighting him off. As badly as she wanted this stupid snit to be over a few seconds ago, part of her was still mad and still wanted to go at it especially if he was trying to drop it like this.

With an exasperated snarl, she shoved him off of her and cleared her throat. She looked like she was about to bark another insult at him, but no syllables came out. Her arms dropped and then were thrown up with a frustrated 'ugh.' Frustrated at him and herself. She barely knew how to get through every day live without a choose your own adventure list of options in her head, and this was like every day life on hard mode.

She stormed off out of the room, acting like she just needed to get the hell away to calm down and act sane again.

Although, seconds later she called back after him, "Are you coming or what?"

Pascal had almost a jaw-dropped expression on his face when Zia pulled away from him. She may have looked like she was going to bark and insult at him but he figured she was going to punch him again, or worse, kick him. He was thankful when she didn't but when she left the room he was a little surprised. He had just stood there, watching the door she walked through until looking at the phone in the floor.

He briefly considered picking up the phone when Zia popped back out of the room. He was mildly surprised before realization of her invitation was. It took a second for it to click, wasting no time to quickly ditch the phone he'd barked at her earlier about and disappeared in the room with her, slamming the door behind him.
