Returning to the training grounds, Jason did his best to appear focused, aiming to practice more with his sword strikes and dodges, and even a little defending. but while he was doing more then he usual would, the moon hunter knew that he would have to try to practice fighting with other hunters. Which wasn't such a bad thing, if he found a decent partner that was. For now though, he had not seen anyone else, so he busied himself with thwacking the dummies there, pretending they were actually horrendous werewolves with razor sharp teeth and intent on disemboweling him... ...Actually, he was just gonna focus on hitting the dummies

How much catching up do you need to do? How long was I even out? Atropos sounded concerned. Candace shrugged, stretching her arms above her head before dropping them back down to her sides and huddling into her coat. She would take it off when she got to training but for now it was nice to have with the weather starting to get chillier. Hot chocolate next to a warm body sounded pretty nice after this... Candace stopped at the edge of the field to watch a vaguely familiar trainee going crazy on some dummies, tilting her head to one side as she approached. "Nice to see a trainee not wasting time to get back in the swing of things." She called out with a smile, trying to remember who this was. Nope. She had no idea.

The voice that called out to him was...unfamiliar. Jason paused in mid swing, letting his sword arm drop as he turned to see whom had spoken to him. He could tell it was a mist hunter, but beyond that he didn't have a clue. "I'm glad to be making a good first impression" He called back putting on a awkward smile. "But besides that, training makes for a good distraction." As he stood there he then realized that this would be a perfect opportunity. "Say, do you have some time on your hands?" He asked politely. "I would be very thankful if you could help me practice my fighting skills. I...feel I am somewhat lacking in them.

"You're right, it does. I'm all for distractions." She was especially up for distractions if it kept people from acting like animals. Candace sighed and shook her head at the thought. How many trainees had sent each other to the infirmary lately? It was ridiculous. It was getting out of hand. At the boy's question she perked up a bit and then suddenly hesitated. His coat..he was just a beginning level trainee. She didn't want to hurt him too much even by accident. Candace frowned a moment and then reached into her pocket, taking out a pair of runic gloves and putting them on. "Yeah, sure. But..um....two options! Either I don't use my weapon, thereby lowering the chance of accidentally sending you to the infirmary, or I use my weapon and we hope for the best..." Candace could really use more practice in hand-to-hand anyway. What if there came another time where she couldn't use her weapon? If she didn't practice fighting without it more she'd be screwed!

Jason was a little confused when she took out a pair of gloves, but then it became clear when he saw the blue runes on the weapon. So she wanted to use a pair of runic gloves instead? He then seemed to lose his nerve when Candace gave him his choices. "A-accidentally?!" His face grew pale. Was she really that strong? He didn't want to get seriously hurt, but then he still wasn't sure about sparring someone who was only using his hands, even if they were gloved. "Are you sure about this?" He asked. "I don't want to accidentally hurt you instead. N-not that I'm suggesting I could! I mean..." he held up his sword. "My sword is pretty sharp."

Candace frowned, fiddling with her gloves. "I'd try not to but..." She did try not to make a habit out of knocking people completely on their a**...unless your name was Rep. Rep asked for it and very often deserved it. This guy? He hadn't done anything to deserve that. To be honest she was scared to hurt this guy after all the lecturing she'd done that a spar is a spar not a ******** blood bath. She refused to be a hypocrite on this subject.
"Go for it. I've been hit with harder, plus I need the practice. I..I should be able to fight without my weapon summoned." Her hesitation came from really not wanting that to happen again. She hoped to never lose her Atropos ever again, but what if? Besides, she didn't want to pull a Rep and kill a civilian should she have to fight one off. She didn't want to have to depend entirely on Atropos to defend herself.
A trainee would be good practice. "If you really want me to I'll summon and use her. It's your choice."

He really didn't want to be the one deciding this. Sure he was still a trainee but, that didn't mean he should be fighting others in hand to hand-
"....J-just use your gloves" He replied. He was going to do his best not to be a a** and hurt her. Because he really didn't wan-
....He was still gonna be careful.

He was so nice! Candace laughed. "Name's Candace by the way, and you are?"
Atropos sighed. I'll use you later, don't worry.
"Don't hold back, okay? Don't worry about hurting me. I've most likely taken worse hits."

"Jason Kenneth" He replied with a small smile at Candace's laughing. "It's good to meet you Candace" At least she seemed happy about it. "Alright then, I wont go easy."

Well, she had requested it, so he was going to give it everything he got. ...And hope he didn't hurt her at this end of this. Taking a grip wof his sword with both hands, Jason took two steps forward, then suddenly lunged to the hunters right side. He lashed out with the sword, the horizontal strike cutting away at the others shield in a pretty reasonable blow. Candace braced herself for it. She was two ranks above him, had more experience, and had probably been hit with a lot worse than what Jason was going to give her. She raised an arm in front of her as the sword slashed at her, holding back a wince. Not terrible but it's still a damn sword.
She knocked his arm away and backed off, bracing herself again.

Did....
Did she just..
She defended a sword with her bare arms, what the s**t
...That was something.
Jason swung his sword again, but it was obvious he was very intimidated by Candace now
