After a rather eventful night of partying with like-minded kin, Break began her journey-- stumbling back to where she called home. Grogginess and fatigue had plagued her bones, but her spirits were still high. How could they not be after such an outrageous and fantastic event?

Bobbing her head about as she hummed a tune, she suddenly scowled. Day was coming! She didn't want to see the sun right now. Annoying. But hey, she couldn't complain too much, she knew a lot of kin didn't love the night like she did, or singing and partying. Those kin were just boring. She shook her head to try and end the tangent in her mind.

What was she doing? Right, going to her sleeping spot. Some might disapprove of her partying habits due to her pregnancy, but she never imbibed on any questionable mushrooms or fermented fruit. No, the spirit of freedom and the sound of singing was what made for a good time. Break assumed that would not hurt her children-to-be, but maybe instill a love of singing in them! How wonderful would that be.

A wistful sigh escaped from her maw. They could turn out to be all sorts and kinds of kin.

Meets-the-Sea has been wandering again, her range and speed expanded upon by her alternate form. She is currently a crane, and seeing the setting sun begin to dip below the horizon, she heads earthward, searching for a spot to spend the night.

Meets is not a picky kin, and especially not so when in crane form. She will -- and has -- slept just about anywhere, but tonight something draws her to a particular little grove and she alights softly, her long crane legs high-stepping over branches and twigs to a soft mossy spot.

Meets has become accustomed to the strange pulls and urges that lead her since she met the motherfather. She no longer thinks to question it when a certain direction tugs at her and calls her to something unknown. So she is not too surprised when a doe -- clearly pregnant -- stumbles into the clearing. She raises her long neck and casts a pair of small, darkly glowing eyes at the newcomer.

Reaching her destination, Break arched her back and yawned. A nice stretch before going to sleep would help her feel refreshed when she awoke again. Turning in a circle twice, Break laid down in her soft clearing. She smacked her lips and adjusted her head to try and be comfortable, and that's when she saw it.

A glimmer of color she hadn't noticed before caught her sleepy eyes. Blinking to a more conscious state, she rose her head and stared at the crane. What exactly was it doing here? Something felt different, but she couldn't place what exactly.

"Go to sleep, Crane.." Break mumbled more to herself than the animal.

Hmm. Meets-the-Sea tilted her head at the end of her long neck and blinked slowly at the doe. She was certainly an unusual one. But still, she had felt the familiar tug urging her to land in this spot...

Taking a few long-legged steps forward, the crane approached the tired doe. The fin on top of her head opened and closed for a moment as she looked down at her, as if in thought. Then she took a deep breath and bent over so that the tip of her beak was just touching the pregnant doe's side.

If she was paying enough attention, the doe might perhaps feel a sense of peace and well-being flow through her at the crane's light touch. If not, the voice that echoed in her head would certainly be enough for her to catch on -- Your children will be strong and free, a female's voice said, and if the doe chanced to look back up at the crane at that moment she might see a twinkle of amusement in the dark eyes.

Settling down after mumbling to the crane, Break was not aware of the animal's approach. The festivities of the night had tired her far too much to be aware of strange creatures of the swamp.

Even the crane's touch did not stir her, but she could feel warmth overcoming her. Not something hot and uncomfortable, no-- it was soothing-- a lullaby to sing her off to sleep.

Your children will be strong and free

What.. what was that? Blearily, one eye squinted out into the clearing. She could have sworn she heard someone talking. Maybe she was just slipping into a drea-- the crane was there. Something like that would have usually startled Break into consciousness, but once again, this was different. Maybe it was the strange crane that was singing her a silent song...

Silent within her crane form, Meets-the-Sea couldn't help but chuckle at the doe's oblivion. Still, her part was done, and she could at least be certain the unborn babes would have an interesting childhood with this one as a mother. Quite tired herself, the crane tucked her long beak away under a wing and slept peacefully.

When the doe woke again in the morning, the strange creature would be gone, and her blessing nothing but a hazy dream-tinged memory.
