Now that things were relatively normal again (as normal as Deus Ex got) and she had Chara back, Eva had taken some time to reflect on that last battle. Namely, she could vaguely recall some details from when she and the other trainees all moved to defend Ceres. Things like hearing each other's thoughts, the whispers of "home" that plagued their minds, and...
...And when the voices had become so overwhelming that she had gone and attacked allies.
...Oops.
Finding Jude to apologize to would be easy enough, but she wasn't so sure about the other trainee. While he was familiar, Eva couldn't recall with certainty whether or not she had met him before in the past. How she was going to find and apologize to him for the undeserved attack was a good question.
As she whacked at the training dummies with Chara, the girl tried to recall what the other trainee's name had been. Ja...jay...Jay? No. Jason? She furrowed her brows uncertainly, and in that lapse of attention, her bladed staff went slipping out of her hands and spinning in the air.
"...Oops."
That hadn't happened for a while.

Jason had returned from the halloween party, and was in much higher spirits then when he had left. There were things that still weighed him down, but he could deal with them. Right now he was training himself more, actually spending time in the training arenas. At this particular moment, he had been managing to hit the dummy without lodging his sword into it. He did not notice a hunter nearby lose their staff, but he did notice with said weapon collided with his head. "Ugh!" He rubbed the sore spot of his head, looking down to see what had hit him. It was a very familiar looking staff, and he only had to glance to the other dummy to see who it was. The same hunter whom had attacked him during their latest battle. "Oh, er, hello there" he replied. Surprisingly, he did not sound angry at her at all, as he looked at the item at his feet. He would of picked it up, but then wasn't it rude to touch someone elses weapon?

...And that hadn't happened for a while either.
Cringing, Eva hurried forward, her expression sheepish as she moved to retrieve her weapon. "Sorry, sorry!" Smiling, she picked Chara back up--ignoring the weapon's unhappy grumbling--and straightened up so that she could look at the young man who she had just hit. "Are you okay--"
--...ah.
Speak of the devil. Eva blinked at Jason blankly for a good few seconds before she suddenly sighed, lifting a head to rub at the back of her head. "Ooh, I was just thinking of looking for you. To be honest, I really want to apologize for what happened during that battle. I er, I wasn't in my right mind."

"You were?" Jason repeated before he realized what she had wanted. "Oh, the battle. That is alright, I'm aware that the..." He stopped, not sure what words to use. He didn't wanted to use the word monster, but hunter wasn't quite right either. "...the insanity affected everyone. I don't think anyone was in their right mind at the time." He appeared a little sad, recalling some of the more bizarre events. To say though that anyone was not in their 'right mind' was a bit of a stretch. But it was what he was going to go with. He didn't want to think about the alternate reasons behind their behavior.

To say that Eva was relieved that he wasn't upset would have been an understatement, even if she did still feel a little guilty. Smiling wryly, she gave a little sigh and shook her head. "Yeah. Yeah, that...that insanity definitely dug its nails into some of us." Her smile faltered slightly as she remembered the sensation of having her mind flooded--of being brainwashed by a desire to go "Home"--but then she shook it away. No, those memories weren't important right now.
Turning back to the young man, she grinned and stretched a hand out to him. "Not sure if I ever got your name? I'm Eva Valente, from the Death Division. And you are...?"
And once introductions were done, the girl would c**k her head to the side, eying Jason thoughtfully for a moment before unsummoning Chara and pointing to her cheek. "And hey, tell you what--since I attacked you unfairly, you get a free hit at me. I still feel pretty bad about it, you know?"

Nodding his head glumly, Jason cheered up a little when the topic changed to introducing themselves. Taking her hand, he gave it a firm yet gentle shake. "I am Jason Kenneth, from Moon division." He responded. "Glad to meet you Eva" And glad to be not senselessly attacked either, but he wasn't going to mention that. The moon hunter's eyes flew open at Eva's next request. "W-w-w-w-what?!" He blanched at the very idea of striking her. "N-no, I can't hit you! It's not...thats not right!" He ruffed the back of his head uneasily. "I don't blame you for what happened, really. I mean I don't know what it's like to have been affected like that...but I can't hit a unarmed lady!" There was a happy sigh in his head.

"Jason," She echoed, her lips spreading into a grin, "I'm glad to finally get your name! It's nice to meet you!" It was good that she finally had a name to put to his face, though she wasn't entirely sure why she hadn't introduced herself soon. He certainly seemed like a pretty nice guy.
This point was only proven when he immediately rejected her request for him to hit her, earning a bright laugh from the girl. "You feel bad if you hit me, and I feel bad if I don't let you hit me. But..." She trailed off, propping on hand up on her hip while tapping at her chin with the pointer finger of her other hand, "Maybe we can compromise. If you won't hit an unarmed lady..."
She summoned Chara again, giving the staff a little twirl before reaching out to gently tap Jason on the head with the crystal-end of her weapon. "How about a spar then?"

A compromise? How could they find a compromise about hitting each oth- The tap on the head resulted in a confused look, brushing the spot where the staff had tapped him. "Oh!" So thats how she wanted to compromise. With a smile, he nodded. "Okay then, I'd be happy to spar with you." And he wouldn't have to worry about hurting her. Er, hopefully. ...He'd try to take it easy on her. Yeah. That sounded like a good plan.
Still ignoring, he moved back a few steps to get into a more comfortable stance, and to put some distance between himself and her. But he did not attack just yet. "Ladies first?"

Ah hah, he accepted! Eva was always happy to spar--it was a great way for everyone involved to improve their skills--so she was quite pleased that he had agreed. Plus, it would definitely give Jason a good chance to hit her back for that attack that she had unwittingly delivered on him before so...all was good, right?
She moved back a few steps as well, getting into position. When he offered to let her go first, the girl smiled. D'aaaw, he was quite the gentleman! "If you insist! But Jason?" She swung Chara around so that the bladed end was pointed upwards, glinting in the light, "Promise me that you won't go easy on me just because I'm a girl, okay?"
Taking a deep breath, Eva counted to three, her grip on the staff suddenly tightening as she lunged forward and swung the weapon down.

Jason may have faltered in his guard when asked not to go easy on her. Maybe just a little. But it was just enough for him to have another up close and personal view of the bladed staff. It took a nice chunk out of his shield to boot. "Eer, a-alright. I promise..." He adjusted the grip on the hilt of his weapon, taking the time to swing at her while her guard was done. And just managed to knick her sheild. ...Yeah, he might have trouble holding up to that promise. HP: 35 Damage: 1 Charge: 1/3 Kaiyumi LOLOL HE'S TRYING, HONEST XDDD

Eva felt the attack, but just barely as it merely nicked her shield. She drew back, temporarily lifting Chara in front of her in a defensive position.
"Jason, I want you to at least hit me hard enough to make up for me attacking you last time, okay?" If her memory served her correctly, it hadn't been too bad of an attack, but still. Laughing brightly, the girl was quick to add, "And don't worry--I've taken plenty of bad hits before. Come at me with everything you've got!"
And to prove that she was serious about this, she dropped her defense and lunged forward, striking out at Jason's shield once again.

Jason was going to do so. He really, really, was going to fight her seriously. Really. No BS Except when he came forward, she had already lashed out, causing him to stumble and again, only nicking the edge of her shield. "...That was a deliberate move...It's supposed to put you off guard..." Yup, probably one of Jason's worst lies. Ever HP: 28 Damage: 2 Charge" 2/3 Kaiyumi I find this absolutely hilarious |D

"Jason, sweetheart," She pressed her free hand to her cheek, staring at the other trainee with a wry smile, "I'm not sure why it is that you seem kind of...hesitant to come at me with your full power, but rest assured that I can take it. I'm stronger than I look."
Again, she stepped forward to prove her point, swinging the blunt end of her staff into Jason's stomach....but with much more force than what she had originally intended.
Oh god she totally owed him lunch after this.

Jason wasn't sure if he had the heart to tell her, that he really was trying. Except this time Zanthvos was too busy cracking up, and he found it harder to concentrate. Not to mention her latest attack had nearly halved his shields lifespan, and he felt a swift jab of pain were the staff had got him in the stomach. Ow. Needless to say, he was feeling slightly embarrassed. But this time, he actually managed to fight properly. Eva was close enough for him to lift his sword, making a nice clean slice at her midsection. HP: 15 Damage: 6 Charge: 3/3 Kaiyumi IT'S ALL GOOD LOOK JASON DID MORE THEN 2 DAMAGE FOR ONCE

If Eva had known, she would most certainly extend an offer to help Jason train more often, especially when she remember how much difficulty she had during those first few months of being a trainee.
She was winded by his attack, feeling very grateful as her FEAR shield prevented her from getting sliced in half. At the very least, she felt a painful ache in the spot where Jason had struck out at. "Ouch--nicely done, Jason!"
And then she swung her weapon out to retaliate.
