Personality: Zach has been driven incurably insane, showing occasional delusions of grandeur. He is the epitome of a coward, and despite his dangerous appearance it is quite easy to fend him off assuming you get the first shot in. Not a nice guy, not a good guy, and he barely has the sensibilities to save his own hide, let alone anyone else's. He's stubborn, but with enough brute force or threats of such it's easy to change his mind for him. While not stupid per se, he is generally ignorant or uninformed, leading to a variety of painful misunderstandings. The lizards in his mix have shortened his temper considerably, making him irritable on top of his already unfriendly exterior. While he has sworn off violence after a particularly unusual repercussion of it, he is looking into other methods of exacting revenge. Perhaps his only saving grace is his unshakable devotion to and defense of those who've so far earned it - Kaveri and Sabin. And then again... perhaps not.

- "Medicine bag", made by Kaveri back when she still had hands.
- A handful of spare spelunking gear he didn't lose when in the jungle.
- Rope
- Toiletries and medicine (no more painkillers or plant allergy meds)
- High-SPF sunscreen.
- NEW: Another top hat.
UPDATING and whatnot. Blah.

Photo #1My sister has a sort of affinity for bothering me. She shot this photo maybe a year ago... I don't think I look any different. Anyhow, it's me, wearing my usual outfit. I've stopped keeping the sleeve pinned up - most people prefer not to have to look at the stump.
Was that really what I looked like less than a year ago? I feel so... different.

I have no idea who took this picture, but I swear if I find out who did... I mean, look at me! Or rather, what I've become... I don't even look like myself any more.
I suppose I overreacted a little bit when this happened. It was my first change, and it was kind of a shock to realize that there was no going back.

Oh my god... when did this even happen? The last thing I remember...
I was a little unclear on the details at the time, but it went something like this: Sabin decided to bring me to the labs for my change, power goes out, he drives me back to my duplex (you'd think those steel doors on their observation rooms would sturdy enough, but hey), and somewhere along the way, this. More importantly, my arm. I got it back. It just... it grew back. Apologies to Dr. Lockheart over the whole mess, but... hey, I'm still not even sure what happened with that.

Given the choice between willingly and unwillingly going along with the experiment, I chose the spineless route. What else could I do? It was that or get zapped again and change ANYWAY, and at that point I'd already been shocked by the chip more times than anyone should to in a lifetime. It hurt, but it wasn't the most horrible experience of my life. I guess my only problem now is learning how to talk again.

 This page is devoted specifically to first, or current, impressions. FRIENDS ---
Sabin: Dr. Duvert is the man I owe my life to several times over. He... looks out for me and asks for almost nothing in return. And with so many dangerous, violent islanders around trying to kill me, it's something I can't take for granted. He's proven to me more than once that he's right about everything, so there isn't a point in challenging anything he says unless I want to aggravate him and be wrong. I know what he's done to those islanders who have attacked me, and I'm just glad he's never had to do anything like that to me to teach me to be grateful. I was handpicked by him to become this dragon, and I don't know why it ever upset me in the first place. There's no going back from this place and these changes, and anyone who thinks otherwise needs to be shown the error of their ways.
Kaveri: I met her what seems like a while back. Resourceful, opinionated, and she wasn't bothered by how strange I looked at the time. We've spent... interesting times with each other since then, and if I didn't know better, I'd think that I love her. But how am I supposed to tell her that? Lately she's been disappearing and I'm worried.
Emerwyn: She speaks cryptically and seems very distant, but she doesn't hate me. I've met her twice now and she seems like someone I can talk to if I ever need someone's ear. Not that I'd, well, ever do that.
Amaya: I don't know her very well, but she's very hot - I MEAN below the legal age limit! I don't know what's wrong with me when I'm around her now.
Sid: One of the very few islanders who doesn't outright hate me. He's helped me a couple of times before, and I appreciate it. Despite whatever emotionless exterior he tends to display, he seems like a reasonable guy. I've yet to find out what from him, but, well, whatever he's becoming has slimy webbed hands and a huge jawdrop.
Kikue: A nice girl, very polite. Obviously she's been here long enough to get a good idea of this place, since she looks halfway to being a big cat of some kind. After she tried to take a chunk out of some new guy's leg, I didn't want to leave her alone in the cafeteria in case someone else would do the same - or worse - to her. I don't often pity anyone, but she deserved it for having to deal with the same killer instincts I have.
Ginerva: Don't remember her very clearly, but from what little I do recall she seemed nice and agreeable.
Miller: Glad to see that not everyone around here is an idiot. Apparently Thom tried to take a chunk out of this guy - I sympathize.
ENEMIES ---
Gaius: Looks like a pegasus to me.
Lucas: If Sabin getting rid of his eye didn't make him sorry, I'll find a way...
Rex: He was the first guy I saw change on this entire island. We've never gotten along. Between arguments, disagreements, suspicions, I've completely forgotten what it was that got us both angry in the first place. But to last this long, it had to have been something bad. He's the one who threw a punch at me over a little joke! I asked Sabin to do something to him. I can't wait to find out what.
Chubbs: Every time I've met this... thing... he's practically killed me. And I thought the cobra-man was bad. But so far it sounds like they're working on fixing some of the problems with multiple-animal serums using him, so he should be gone for a while. Good riddance.
Chert: A complete jerk. I don't get along with him, he doesn't get along with me. So far he's stayed out of my way lately.
Nita: We don't get along, and that's about it. She took Rex's side over something once, so obviously she's nothing but trouble. Last time I saw her she came to the rescue of some stupid girl who interrupted me when I was busy. I'd rather not see her again, but I don't have to worry - seems neither of us enjoy the other's presence.
Lauren: A bristling angry weasel of a girl. She roots on Moreau, I think, which is a bit creepy. I avoid her.
Valentine: My downstairs neighbor. She got me thinking I was insane for a little while. We had a huge fallout over... things. I haven't seen or heard from her since. Dead? Probably.
Billy: I thought this guy was trouble from the first time when he nearly strangled me. At least now I've gotten revenge of sorts - he's wearing some bizarre flea collar that goes off when you scare him. Most fun I've had in weeks.
Lily: Another doctor, apparently tried to blend in. That didn't last long. She's becoming an animal too, but she thinks it's just "interesting". Haven't seen her for the longest time, so I've got no idea what she's up to now.
Dr. Moreau: So this is the man who's in charge of the island? He definitely makes it known. All experience I've had with him has been very, very bad. This last time he threw me out of my duplex for a couple of weeks, leading to me getting strangled by a deranged islander. The less I have to do with him, the better.
Dr. Lockheart: She thinks of herself as more noble than she really is. I don't suppose anyone will see much of her now, since every time she comes down here she ends up getting hurt. It was my fault she almost died one of the times... but I still don't like or trust her.
That Disfigured Guard: This jerk seemed to be in standard islander denial, and looked like he was afraid I was going to rip him to shreds. And I would have. Really. I have better things to do though. Like get painkillers for this headache. Here's hoping we never meet again.
Colche: Who does she think she is, calling me a murderer? She has no idea.
Tommy: Why does everyone keep trying to kill me? It's not proving anything except that you're all a bunch of psychopaths. Seriously. It's just pissing me off now.
Oz: Can't even stand to look at your own reflection? Pathetic.

Antony: Hard to know when she'll get angry next. I haven't seen her for a while.
Joliette: Former vegetarian. I wonder how she's doing, she looked pretty scaly the last time I saw her.
Emelyn: I once had feelings for her, but I guess they weren't worth pursuing. She's pulled a knife on me lately for her safety, but still. I don't think I'll forgive her for that.
Cassidy: Nice girl. She has it rough, becoming a snake. I hope I can talk to her again.
Ambrose: Nice guy, becoming a wolf. We had a little chat once, but we haven't talked much since then.
Awen: I don't know what to think of this girl. Tried to escape, and is now Sabin's girlfriend. Did I miss something?
Jamal: A very dangerous guy.
Avery: He's been the unfortunate victim of my crazier moments twice. I'm glad he forgave me for that though.
Pyroth: I mistook him for a dog, but there he was, fully changed, and looking exactly like one. He's a nice guy, if a little bitter.
Chana: She was almost dinner once. Oops.
Vasile: I saw him change once, but other than that the guy's pretty mysterious to me.
Fiona: Pretty chipper, considering her situation.
Anjali: How bizarre. Seemed normal, if a little edgy. Apparently she can talk to plants, since she's becoming one. Though... wow. Just odd.
Joshua: Poor guy must have been frightened when Kaveri started waving that rabbit around. Met him on a bad day. If I knew who he was, maybe I'd go apologize. Too late now.

I don't think any horror story can compare to this, and nothing's happened to me yet. I'm worried. I've met several people who are part animal. Unbelievable, you'd think, seeing as there's still a struggle for stem cell research back home. If only I was that lucky... if only that was the end of the story.
The island's run by a mad scientist, Doctor Morro (not sure how to spell that). It's been up and running for a long time, and no one's escaped yet. I've already received a shot of something that is apparently animal DNA or some other equally horrible stuff - not the vaccination I was told it was. Note to self - never trust that damn Dr. Duvert again. I'm going to underline that for good measure. I haven't noticed anything different yet. God, I hope I never find out what kind of creature was picked for me. Haven't I had to deal with enough? Now I've probably got some disgusting slimy insect or fish or reptile's DNA in my veins.
It sounds like it might not be too late to get out of here, though. I'm still human. I still have a chance. But how can I possibly get out of here when no one else has managed to?
