Believe it or not, this was Barlow's first time at Sal's. He'd avoided the place due to the fact that there were so many unfamiliar faces and also because he loathed talking to anyone. He didn't believe many pokemon were worth his time, and so he liked to keep to himself. However, on this particular day he found himself strolling into the establishment.
Glancing around with narrowed eyes, he took in the scenery and was glad to find that the tables were low to the ground. He was even more happy to see that there was a deserted table that he could sit at undisturbed. Walking with big, confident steps that betrayed his small stature, Barlow hefted himself up onto a bench and observed the pokemon in the cafe with skeptical eyes.
Would a potential partner be here of all places?

Zero always came to Sal's. He love to talk to everyone and see all the action, if you know what I mean. Walkin in with a big grin on his face he said to everyone in the cafe "Yo! What up my bros?" making sure that Sal knew that he had came in so he could get his drink on.
Looking around Zero saw a new face that he never seen before and walk up to the little bro and sat right next to him. He gave the guy a small grin and nod and said " What up bro, never seen you round in here. How it hangin?" He let out laugh and grin again. He love meeting new pokemon.

It was his first visit to Sal's, though he had heard of the joint long ago. His heavy rock like tail scraped against the ground as he lumbered in, his blue eyes scanning the other pokemon there. A deep grumble like growl rumbled around in the back of his throat as he spotted the noisy Arcanine. Rainer was not really one for socialization, he was here via his partner's request, and was none to pleased about it. He scanned the cafe again, spotting another unfamiliar face in the corner that the Arcanine seemed to be talking too. He noted the skepticism in the Scraggy's eyes and let out a sort of huff of amusement. If anyone was worth talking to in this cafe, it would be that Scraggy.... not that Rainer was going to make a point to talk to anyone. In fact, he rather hoped that his partner would simply order something and they could leave just as quickly as they had got here. Not having anyone to rescue made the Rhydon quite bored and irritable.
With a snort, he turned his drill horned nose to the ground, curling his heavy tail out of the way for his partner and only current friend to step through unhindered. "Bowie...." his deep gruff voice grumbled as he waited for the little Snivy to step in. She was like his brains and at the current moment, she was the only one he'd do anything for, and so he acted more like her body guard at times rather than a rescue partner.

The tiny Snivy stepped through the cafe door, her nose held high in the air as she adjusted the tiny pink bow around her neck. She flicked her leaf fan like tail a few times before daintily stepping over the very tip of Rainer's tail. Her brown eyes also scanned around with a hint of boredom or perhaps it was just a little bit of disdain. She noted the Arcanine and the Scraggy in the corner, giving a tiny dainty huff before shoving her nose farther into the air... if it could get any farther. "Rainer, if you'd please." she said in a hoity toity though very high pitched voice as the Rhydon lowered his arm and opened the palm of his hand for her to step onto. She was then promptly raised up and gently nested on his left shoulder like some sort of VIP. (Very Important Pokemon |D )
Now from her high up perch, she looked down her nose at everyone, before gently tapping one of Rainer's solid ears. "Come now, we wont be long. Its good for us to socialize once in awhile." she said, tutting at the Rhydon's obvious grunts of disapproval. She gave him another pat on the head before pointing over to the counter like a trainer issuing commands. "Lets order something first, shall we?" she cooed, a tiny yet vain smile tugging at the corner of her lips.

Barlow's eye twitched as the loud Arcanine that had burst into the cafe made a beeline for him. Of course.
'Don't sit next to me. Don't sit next to me. Dammit he sat next to me.'
Barlow turned his disinterested and slightly annoyed gaze to the Arcanine.
"Mm," He let out a disinterested hum at the fire pokemon, nodding, before continuing to scan the occupants of the cafe. He just wasn't much of a talker. Especially when someone was so loud. And... well... he was rude, he'd admit it. But he could care less to be totally honest.
He was about ready to high-tail it out of there and try again another day. Maybe next time he'd stick more to the shadows along the wall... hmm. His musings were interupted when a large Rhydon entered, quickly followed by a very attractive Snivy. Barlow allowed his eyes to roam over the two. They were obviously partners the way they fit so well together. Barlow frowned. He wanted something like that.
He excused himself from the Arcanine, and casually made his way to the bar to order a drink, always making sure to stay guarded despite the laid-back nature of the cafe. He wanted to observe the two new pokemon a bit more.

Jubilee skipped into the cafe happily. This was her very first time here. The Togepi decided to come here because she heard this was a place to make new friends and... there was something else, but she stopped listening. She looked around the cafe. So many Pokemon were here, she didn't know where to start making friends. Jubilee shrugged, she might as well go grab a snack while she tries to decide. She happily skipped to the counter and encountered another problem... What should she get?

Tucker bounded into the cafe, finally he was allowed in! His Grandma always said he was too young to be out on his own in the village, but now that he had been accepted to a guild, his Grandma seemed to feel much differently. He felt a little nervous being in such a crowded cafe with pokemon of all different makes and sizes. This experience would sure be good for a story though! Cafes seemed to be great places for characters to meet each other and for things to happen. He had brought his trusty pencil, naturally, and jotted something down on a spare piece of paper before skipping over to the counter to order something. But what should he get? Everything sounded so good!
He spotted a Togepi at the counter next to him and decided to ask, "Hey there! I can't decide what to get, can you?"

Rainer did as the snivy asked and lumbered his way on over to the counter. He perused over the menu, though he wasn't really going to order anything. He was waiting for Bowie to make up her mind. But out of the corner of his eye, he noticed the Scraggy ditch the Arcanine and wander over the the counter as well. He seemed to be up to something.... and the Rhydon didn't like it. He made a deep rumbling noise before shifting himself to try to hide the Snivy from view.
Bowie's concentration on the menu was broken when she was suddenly shifted. "Rainer, what are you doing?" she tutted, staring at him and noting the look in his eye. She rolled her eyes and let out a tiny sigh. The two were partners and very close friends but they had established that was all they were going to be and yet the silly Rhydon always seemed to act jealous and overly protective of her. She put a tiny hand to her mouth and let out a faint giggle. "Oh I see." she said before glancing around, her gaze jumping from the cute and giggling Togepi to the also adorable Pichu (she rather liked 'baby' pokemon) until her eyes landed on the Scraggy. It had to be him. "Excuse me... yes you there.. Scraggy." she said in a sort of high and mighty kind of tone to get his attention.
Flicker wiggled himself in, sliding along like a slug on the floor, leaving a slight trail of wax that only seemed to recollect itself into his body before he got too terribly far away. Large public places like this was always a good place to 'practice' his art. A devious grin spread across his face as he spotted an Arcanine and he snuck his way over, flaring up his fire to create a spooky shadow on the wall just in front of Zero. A tiny hiss like cackle escaped his lips that sounded more like a flame being put out than any kind of laughter.

He had been half-looking over the menu and half-glancing over at the duo on his left when he heard the Snivy's high-pitched voice ring through the air. He had noticed the way the Rhydon moved to shield her and felt a small pang of jealousy. Were they more than partners? No it didn't seem that way.. hm. He shook himself from his inner musings to make eye contact with the hoity toity Snivy. He could tell she made up for her size in personality. Man was she a sight.
He let a smirk slide onto his face as he leaned back against the counter, arms crossed over his chest.
"Yes, ma'am? Can I help you?" he drawled out slowly. Oh he may not be much of a talker normally, but sit a pretty little pogey in front of him and all bets were off. This little dame commanded authority and he liked that.

Sal stood behind the counter with a large grin. His eyes narrowed, glanced over the entrance of Pokemon that entered. Many of them were new to him. Actually everyone that entered was new. His smile widen and he chortles loudly and welcomes everyone in. "Lookit all you newbies. Just joined in yer guilds. " His eyes glanced down at the Scraggy and Snivy-Rhydon duo. What's this? A love triangle already? His smile widens and he slowly pushes his head close to watch this. Not even being conspicuous. He always loved to watch drama up front. It wasn't the best of ideas, but who cares? This is his shop! If no one like it, they can high tail it out of there.

Zero look at the Scraggy walk away from him. Hmm well he saw that the little bro got his groove on with that Snivy and this Arcanine was not one to mess up love.
Zero saw the shadow on the wall and laugh at it. "Why hello there little bro! Are you going to talk to me? Cus it seem none of these bros want the chill with the big Z-dog over here." He said with a grin. He knew he was talking to a shadow but hey someone had to be making it so he would give it a shot.

I don't think I've seen you around before, you must be from a different guild!" His brown eyes grew large as he admired her with curiosity. "Lemme guess!...The Trading Association?" He tired, tilting his head while he waited for her response.

Rainer grunted. This is exactly what he didn't want to happen. He made another grumble in his throat to try to change Bowie's mind but it seemed to go unnoticed..... at least by the one he wanted to notice it. The Salamence behind the counter seemed awfully curious as to the situation. As if they needed more outsiders. He snorted and folded his big arms across his chest, keeping an eye on that Salamence now. Newbies..... who's this guy think he was calling him a newbie huh?! Why he'll have you know he's the toughest Rhydon around town thank you very much!
Oh so he had a southern drawl.... how very..... interesting. Her smile faded a bit at his tone as she gave a flick of her tail before folding her arms just as the Rhydon did. She was oblivious to the Salamence for now. "Yes, what's your name Scraggy?" she said, taking her eyes from him to busy herself with fixing her bow. She had to look proper at all times if she was going to attempt to make acquaintances within her guild... or even outside of her guild. "Oh, and your guild. You see, your making Rainer here a bit jealous and while he may not find the idea as intriguing as I do, we are looking for looking for another member to join our... how you say... entourage for rescue missions?" she said and tilted her head ever so slightly, glancing back at the Scraggy with a confident and somewhat sassy smile. She almost hated to just skip right down to business but she had a feeling she'd have plenty of time to be amused by this little pant clad lizard in the near future.
A clenched fist thundered hard against the counter and glared at the Salamence. "I'll take a coffee... and make it black." he snorted. (unsure what the pokemon equivalent of coffee would be rofl so lets just roll with it? |D )
Flicker paused for a moment. This definitely wasn't the reaction he was hoping for... but he could roll with it. He snickered which made the shadow face snicker as it twisted into the form of a haunter before molding into a pulsating sphere with dripping eyes and teeth. "Little bro?" the 'shadow' said before it seemed to grow smaller and smaller as Flicker waddled closer to Zero. He used his flames to make the equivalent of a hand wave to get the Arcanine to glance down. "Its no fun when you're not scared." the Litwick pouted, folding his little wax like arms across his 'chest'.

He chuckled low in his throat at the Snivy's antics. She seemed like one of those prim and proper pokemon. She was probably in the Museum of Performing Arts. However, her partner didn't look like much of a dancer, but eh who knows maybe the guy had a hidden talent for ballet. Barlow inwardly snickered at the image his mind produced of the Rhydon in ballet slippers. He turned his attention back to the Snivy, ignoring the simmering Rhydon's fist slamming into the counter. He was also oblivious to the Salamence, only paying attention to the little green pokemon that held his interest.
"The name's Barlow," he said. "I've recently joined the Buttery Biscuits. You in that guild?" If she was this was perfect. Though Barlow wasn't sure if the big guy liked him, he could see himself getting along with the Snivy. "What's your name, miss?" he asked. "If you're in my guild I just might consider your offer. I'm in the market for some partners myself," He grinned up at her.
