It was morning, and the warm breeze that came with it enlightened Ru'yah's mood. Before, she had another nightmare. What was scary was that lately those nightmares of hers were coming true, and so she a little wary today. And yesterday, and the day before that. Alright, maybe she was becoming a little anxious without her cheetah friend to keep her company. He had left her to go find a pride. She had finally stopped moping and feeling sorry for herself last week. Only, now she needed to get used to being alone again. She didn't understand why it was so hard either. Why, up until her and Jaryx became travelling buddies, Ru'yah had travelled around by herself. Not once before had she had a travel companion, and now that she didn't, everything just seemed to... Bother her. Especially when it was dark out and she was trying to sleep. That was when she was typically most anixous. Such childish acts... She had to stop being scared of the dark! She hadn't been before, why was she now? The grass rustled next to her, and Ru'yah cocked her head in the direction she had heard the sound. Only when a bird flapped it's wings and took off, did her head drooped back down again. The green legged lioness wouldn't even think of it, but this was all most likely happening to her because she was just lonely...

[[Hun if I take too long to respond don't hesitate to give me a nudge in PMs kk? Means it doesn't slip my mind after I've read it and run off to do additional chores.]]
For Ni'it, life had been very different since her cousin had returned to rescue her. The games had been set to continue the year after Noona's dramatic exit and she was to be the next martyr. But in a sheer twist of events the pink cheetah had returned, flanked by her mighty guardian. Without the slightest of hesitations she had swept in, embraced Ni'it and led her away from what would have been her death. The colony hadn't even attempted to prevent the intervention, too fearful of the mighty beast that stood at her side.
...Ni'it would have admitted on the spot that she was positively terrified of the 'beast'. Even as he had guided each of them out of the forest and into the open world of the 'gods'. Her wariness had only been lifted when Noona had later explained that Gideon (the beast) was a lion and he was no more immortal than she was. He was just big, fluffy and had very little tolerance for stupidity.
The petite cheetah had soon developed a great appreciation for the lion and could see the value of the relationship that boast Noona and he had, even if it left her a little puzzled. She'd never had the opportunity to grasp the concept of love, simply because individuals her age usually didn't live unless they won in the games...
Alas, a new world lay before her and while she was welcome to stay in the company of her cousin and Gideon, she was slowly becoming a little braver. Separating herself from their company occasionally to explore here and there - when Gideon could confirm the region was safe, she would quickly dart away to investigate and this morning was of no exception. He had given the nod, and she had run.
Suffice to say, she hadn't expected to encounter another lion quite so quickly!

Ru'yah had rolled onto her backside and started to awkardly rub her back into the dirt when she heard an approching stranger. Was it someone dangerous? Ru doubt it, since she hadn't really met anyone out here in the rougelands with any bad intentions. Still, although her lazy, relaxed expression had yet to change, she still felt slightly worried about who was going to come out of the grass. So, she rolled back onto her stomach, and then, pain. Like someone had jabed a knife into her side. Being brought down onto her side unexpectedly like that, Ru'yah wasn't exactly the fastest to stand back up. And once she finally got to her feet, one would think that she'd be mad at whoever had tripped over her. But, that wasn't the case with Ru'yah. She wasn't angry in the slightest. In fact, if anything she was worried about if who had rammed into her was okay! "Are you alright?" She asked, "I don't think you saw me there, so are you okay?"

Smack.
It was fortunate that the cheetah was so durable despite her small frame, the impact would have caused quite a few problems if she hadn't been. Nevertheless, she gave a very dramatic tumble, rolling forward a number of times before she finally came to a halt. Startled and winded, the female didn't provide an immediate response to Ru'yah and instead, elected to lie very still until such a time as she felt confident that she could stand again. Suffice to say that she had never been hit that hard before.
"Ow," she finally murmured at last, having recovered enough to at least utter a few syllables in response to the lioness. As her vision still hadn't cleared, she had yet to determine the species of the female... But then finally, Ru'yah did begin to come into focus - a big, hulking black cat. A female version of Gideon, so they were real.
"Ah....ahhhhhh," she continued incoherently and wriggled away from the lioness. "I'm s-sorry, I didn't mean to hit you!"

"It's fine, no need to worry." She gave a ressuring smile while sitting back down on the soil. Appearently that hit had winded her more than she originally thought though, forcing her to sit in order to not fall over. Her side was really in pain now... But that might have been because she realized it hurt. Everything seemed to hurt more after you noticed it was injured after all. At least now that she was sitting she could concentrate on who exactly ran into her. A cheetah, of all creatures. She could tell because they were typically smaller than lions, and their tails didn't have lots of fur at the end. The voice idenified it as a female. Or at least her smaller structer than the male cheetah Ru'yah had travelled with previously, lead her to believe that it was a female. "Are you hurt very much?" She repeated her question again. Not satisfied until she recieved an answer rather than an apology.

Was she hurt...?
Ni'it paused briefly to inspect the damage she may or may not have received from the impact. She gave her tail a twitch, move each of her hind legs and then moved her forelegs. While they were aching, they were intact and as no sharp pains had swept across her body she could surmise that she had received no lasting or permanent damage. She concluded in those moments that she had been winded and that was about the height of her injuries, she would live to see another day on the condition the lioness didn't kill her.
"No," Ni'it confirmed after she had examined her condition to a satisfactory standard. Nevertheless, she did wriggle a little further away from the lioness and pulled herself unsteadily to her paws, peering closely at the female's features. She didn't seem like she was angry enough to harm her, but Ni'it had lived in a pride where what seemed completely innocent could murder you in your sleep!
"Are you?" she echoed and tilted her head to the side.

"No, I'm perfectly fine!" Other than her brusied side that was. But Ru'yah wasn't about to complain about a little bump that would heal in no time. "It's good neither of us are hurt." She said calmly, reverting back to her typical behavor of laziness. Not concerned at all about death, other than the possiblity of it from what had just happened to the two. But they were both fine. They would both live to see another day, and eat good food and so on. For right now that was all Ru'yah needed to be happy, that and the fact that this new cheetah was actually talking to her! Yep, she wanted this conversation to last longer. A lot longer, because Ru'yah felt she needed to chat with someone longer than a few short mintues...

It wasn't that Ni'it was quiet - once she warmed to another individual she could talk with them comfortably, but as this was one of her rare jaunts into the world alone, she was just a touch unsettled and shy. In previous days she had been accompanied by her cousin and Gideon, though Gideon may wander at a distance so that she and her cousin could run wild, she knew they were always there to keep her safe... Now though? Now was very different and she wasn't quite sure how to handle herself.
"Well, if you're sure," she murmured hesitantly, shuffling uneasily on her paws. She glanced down at them momentarily, wiggling her toes as she struggled to remind herself of the common courtesy and manners she used to have before her ordeal. It wasn't that hard to say hello...and yet she found herself at a loss for words and conversation. Alas, when all else failed one could always revert to stating the obvious and child like fashion.
"Your paws are massive," she stated mildly, lifting up one of her own and then peering at Ru'yah's. She'd known that Gideon's were large but the females seemed to have huge ones too...

Ru'yah stared down at her paws. "They're not that great for swimming." She said, although it was probably the opposite that was true. Ru'yah was a terrible swimmer. She would not attempt to admit otherwise. And even though she was given swimming lessons (that she was remarkable at), when attempting to swim without instructions from a friend she would almost drown. Or die trying to get a hold of solid ground. So I suppost it could be said that she wasn't a horrible swimmer, nor were her paws hindering her learning, but rather that she relied far to much on basic instructions being told to her as she swam. "Are you good at swimming?" Ru'yah asked lazily. Curious as to if she was the only one who couldn't swim in Africa.

She wasn't entirely sure what swimming was, she'd never had the pleasure of trying it for the simple reason that her former home had shallow rivers and now that she was out here... Well, she had never actually be exposed to large expanses of water. As a result, she could only assume that she would not be able to swim if she was ever presented with this challenge, it was ever so slightly worrying. Should she consider lessons? Should she ask Gideon? Maybe he would know and point her in the right direction.
"I don't know what swimming is," Ni'it replied sheepishly and shook her head. "So I don't think I could do it," she confessed. However, now that she thought about it she did have a lioness here who knew what it was, so why should she ask Gideon?
"What is it...exactly?" she asked.

"Well..." Ru'yah began, thinking up a way to explain swimming. To be honest she was surprised that there was someone who didn't know what swimming was! Deep down inside it made her slightly happy though. She wasn't alone on the non-swimmers side after all... "Let's say... You fall into really deep water, how are you going to get out?" Ru'yah asked, though not expecting an answer she carried on. "Struggling won't do you any good because you might drown, so you best bet is to try and swim." She then went on to attempt and explain what swimming was. "To swim all you have to do is stay still at first, then use your paws to paddle and move in direction you want. The key thing to remember though is to not panic. If you panic you'll start struggling and then its all downhill from there."Which was something Ru'yah herself had to learn to keep in mind when she was swimming herself...

Deep down Ni'it suspected that all of this made sense in Ru'yah's head. However, as the cheetah had never seen 'deep' water, she was finding it decidedly difficult to picture what it looked like. Regardless of her exposure to such a thing, the image that Ru had depicted wasn't a pleasant one and the cheetah promptly flattened her ears against her head. If there was one thing she would aim to do, it was to avoid this 'deep water' that Ru spoke of - she didn't want to die and by the sounds of it there was a high chance that she would!
"We've never had deep water," she confessed and pointed with her paw to her 'nee'. "It only ever came up to there on me and even out here I haven't seen any," she continued. Admittedly Gideon hadn't taken either Noona or Ni'it towards the beach or great lakes as of yet, but that would come in time and it would be then that Ni'it understood.
"But it sounds horrible, why would anyone want to put themselves through that?" she wrinkled her nose in distaste. "I'd rather walk round it," she murmured.

"Yeah?..." Ru'yah said only that but nothing more. For, in truth she'd rather walk around any deep water she found as well. But, Jaryx did say it was more benefictional for her health if she learned to swim. Which is why she put herself through it... Finally, she searched her mind for a new topic to discuss, swimming wasn't something either of two ladies seemed to have taken a liking to anyways. As she looked for the proper thing to say, an important point crossed her mind. This cheetah had said where she had come from they didn't have any deep water. It was a small fact, one that could have easily been forgotten (especially by someone like Ru'yah!) but instead she had remembered which was minor accompishment for her. "Where are you from?" She asked, ignoring a little voice in her head that reminded her it was rude to ask a complete stranger something like that, and voicing it anyways.
