Welcome to the first Race! Althea will be hosting, so listen up! The Owsla-marli doesn't care to repeat herself. Best of luck, and Frith-speed!
Muttering to herself, the massive Owsla doe approached the gathering or rabbits and stood up on her hind legs; checking to make sure her own son had taken his position further along the top of the Down before she spoke.
"Alright you lot. You all know why you're here, but in case you accidentally wandered over to silflay, let me say it again."
She surveyed her audience to make sure she had at least the majority's attention before continuing.
"The warren is in need of runners. Frith knows not every rabbit is made for the job-"
Her smirk was self-depreciating, her own breed known for their size and not their speed, nodding as her voice increased in volume.
"So we'll hold races from Ni-Frith to Fu-Inle` daily until we've seen enough of you with potential. Today's race is a very simple one; start at the large beech tree above our warren. Then run as if the Thousand were after your tail to the other end of the Down before you have to head downhill."
Raising her head again to look above the rabbits gathered around to glare out in the direction she indicated that they'd be running to, Althea tweaked an ear and got like in kind from her unhappy offspring.
"Crow, that black buck yonder, will be keeping an eye on you and how quickly you're moving your paws. So, to be clear. Start at the tree, head towards that black buck there, turn around and run back to the tree. At your ready."
She didn't even bother to ask if there were any questions before taking her place right in front of the tree, settling in to graze and keep her eye on the contenders.

How to Play
- You will post a total of ten times, at your own speed is fine. - In each post please roll a d10, your total score for all 10 dice will be your racing score. - Please write at least one line of RP in each post - You may edit your post to include the rp, but if you delete your post you will be disqualified
More Info
- There will be 5 races held - Your rabbit must place in the top three for three races (don't have to be consecutive) to be re-colored on the runner lines - There will be hazards in some of the races, and there is a chance your rabbit could die
Rules
- DO NOT DELETE YOUR POSTS (and yes, I can see if you do that) - You must use the rabbit you want to become a runner as the rabbit in these races - In the event of a tie in scores, the person that finished rolling first will be ranked higher. - If you mess up, forget to roll, etc etc. QUOTE THE MESSED UP POST and post again with your roll
WHAT YOU CAN WIN! (everyone's favorite part)
- Place in the top 3 in three races and your rabbit will become a Runner! - - Every time you place in the top 3, you'll earn a piece of Flay-rah! (unless you win three times, and wish to turn your rabbit into a Runner. If that rabbit continues to enter races and wins you'll earn flay-rah for additional races) - - Participate in all five races and you earn a piece of Flay-rah! -
WARNING! - Although this race is a safe one and there will be no fatalities, it IS POSSIBLE IN FUTURE RACES THAT A RABBIT CAN BE KILLED

Patchouli was raring to go. The young, spry buck stretched out his limbs and listened to the massive owsla officer. He'd not had to be knocked around by her a few times, but he was a young thing and an eager thing. He'd had a few tiffs with other, smaller officers over some petty misbehavior. Still, he was a good lad and quick on his paws. He hoped to show his mettle in these races, to prove he was more than just some young upstart.
He gave one final stretch and awaited a signal to go. When he got it, he took off. He reminded himself not to waste too much stamina and was glad he ate a light breakfast. Maybe he'd chat up a few does after the races, if he did well enough to warrant showing off and doing his best to impress.

Okay, so maybe it wasn' the best start. He faultered slightly, but there was still time to make it up... Right? The rabbit pushed forward, ears flat against his nape.

He slowly picked up speed. His heart sank somewhat as he saw rears go past himself.

Well, at least that stubbed paw seemed to help him along. He needed to preserve his dignity, after all!

Still at it, his breath regular and his paws not yet weary, he continued to aim for Crow.

He wasn't going to let that stop him, though. In an attempt to give a final hurrah, he surged forward, ignoring the twinge in his paw. He was almost there!

It was wearing on him, though. Sure, he didn't exactly hail from a line of good repute, but he didn't want to be a failure, either.

Dove waited for the signal and sprang as fast as he could, aiming to at least keep up with the other rabbits. He would love to become a runner, my wouldn't it be grand if Firth shined down on him and he was selected to become a runner? 1/10 (help me keep track of how many times i've posted xD)

He passed Crow, chest heaving, as he turned to look at the other rabbits that had raced alongside him.
"Good race, friends!"
