Serenity was out in the meadows near the King's Stables, feeling the son beaming down on her and a gentle breeze whipping through her mane. She looked up at the brilliant blue sky, thinking how it was a perfect day. She knew many in the kingdom were celebrating the holidays, including her own chosen, who had been reluctant to go. Serenity had assured her she would be fine, that she should enjoy herself. She still missed Txopu, but she and Ve'ki had decided they needed to heal. She would always love her beloved warrior, but she knew he would not want her to remain sad. She just wished he had been able to see their children, both adopted and blankets she had been pregnant with when he died.

Txopu had been given a rare chance since his death, the offer to see his love again. It had torn him up to leave her as he had, but it was better this way...their sacrifice had not been in vain. He knew the war was far from over, but that was no longer his worry - his part in that particular story was done. He had fulfilled his duty, but he still worried for his love. He knew how gentle her heart was, and how much this would have crushed her spirit, not to mention others as well. Including Mira. He would go and see her soon, or at the very least, Serenity could do so. She had every right to know he was well, and wanted her to move on with her life as well.

After the offer's acceptance, Txopu found himself in a grassy field. For a moment, he was disoriented until he realized he was near the royal stables. To be honest, his being alive had come to feel more like a dream, and he looked around in wonder once more drinking it all in - remembering the smells, warmth of the sun on his back. Closing his eyes, he reached out and realized he could touch Mira's mind - it wasn't quite the bond, but more a vague remembrance of what it'd once been, but it was enough. He could feel her grief, and at the same time, he felt her heart mend a little as they talked as only Bonded can do. He asked her to remain where she was...to remember him as he'd been alive and to hold tight to that. She protested, but it was weak but she knew he was right. He sent her some love and as close to a mental hug as he could before severing the connection completely. His time was limited after all, and he knew she'd be okay.

Gliding over the meadow, mere moments had passed from his appearance, as he sought for Serenity. Finally…there she was. He paused to admire her, to drink her in and thoughts flooded his mind – dreams of what could have been. They’d had so little time together…they’d have even less this day. Taking a bit of a breath (or what passed for one as a ghost), he stepped forward. He looked solid at first glance, but if one watched, they could see the meadow grasses through him moving in the breeze. “My love… Serenity…” he called, fearful of frightening her, yet full of excitement to be with her one last time for now.

Serenity had been singing a little song, when she heard a familiar voice calling her name. She wondered if she were going crazy as she slowly turned her head in the direction of the voice. There stood what appeared to be the Azrein she had been thinking about as she enjoyed the beautiful day. She gave a soft whinny of delight, rushing over to him, closing the distance that had been between them. When she got closer, she could see he was not as solid as she thought, seeing the grass through him. She knew he was a ghost and probably would only be here a short bit, but it would be enough for her.

"Oh Txopu, how I have missed you,"Serenity admitted, her voice wavering.

Beta walked at a leisurely pace, her turquoise eyes scanning the area for any trace of her adopted mother. Haides had taken over babysitting duty, insisting that the mare should find their mother. She didn't know why, but Haides had good instincts when it came to things like that... "Mama?" she called, not yet spotting her mother or her special visitor.

Haides was resting on the ground by his younger siblings, his head resting on his front hooves. His eyes were closed as he told the little blankets stories, his deep voice gentle and calm as he spoke. He didn't realize he'd be so good at watching children. It was a good discovery, especially with the wonderful news Jaromila had given him. Him, a father... if it wasn't for his new-found talent of babysitting and Jaromila's sheer joy in the matter, the situation would've been overwhelming. And in spending time with his younger siblings, he was quickly discovering that he really enjoyed being around young foals--and apparently they liked him, or at least his storytelling abilities. Still, his ears were open for any movement; Beta had warned him that some of the blankets liked to wander.

(( I'm going to assume this is after Haides comes home. ))
