So Disney purchased LucasFilms aka the Star Wars franchise from George Lucas for about $8 Billion. And Star Wars VII is reported to come out in 2015 with 2 new movies coming out every 2 years after the 2015 release. surprised For any Star Wars nerds out there, your thoughts? surprised I'm kind of excited I guess since well Disney has done a good job with Marvel movies so far and well... since we lost Batman and Harry Potter, I need something to look forward to crying

I don't think they ever had Batman or Harry Potter but I'm not sure about Disney buying out Star Wars. I mean, they did an excellent job with the Marvel movies and POTC but it could turn out to be a kid's movie. Plus, who would the movie even be about?

Ashelina JoIie I don't think they ever had Batman or Harry Potter but I'm not sure about Disney buying out Star Wars. I mean, they did an excellent job with the Marvel movies and POTC but it could turn out to be a kid's movie. Plus, who would the movie even be about? I meant for myself, not Disney, of course they don't own Batman of HP xp i've read that it's going to be an original movie. Quote: Episode VII is expected to be an entirely original story, and not based on the various novels, graphic novels and other materials that have previously been considered Star Wars canon. As part of the purchase, Disney received an "extensive story treatment" by Lucas. In a video interview that was part of the purchase announcement, Kennedy stated that she and Lucas had already met with writers to discuss the film script. Lucas biographer Dale Pollock, who had read the original twelve stories written by Lucas, noted that the new episodes would involve character Luke Skywalker in his 30s or 40s. In an interview, Pollock stated that "the three most exciting stories were 7, 8 and 9. They had propulsive action, really interesting new worlds, new characters. I remember thinking, 'I want to see these 3 movies.'" Pollock expects the screenplays to follow the treatments written by Lucas i'm not super total star wars nerd so i do not know too much beyond the movies and such.

I don't know...I think Star Wars should be left with the legacy it has.
I'm afraid it'll lose any integrity it still has if Disney tinkers with it, unless they maybe did something with the animated clone wars series or something.
confused
