Penthesilea wandered around the area for once not accompanied by her sister Yakut. Yakut had insisted that they split up for a short time, something about what a rock had told her, and so Penthesilea agreed knowing that when the voices told her sister something it was impossible for the dark colored mare to ignore them. Before Yakut had left she had asked Penthesilea to search the area and ensure it was safe. There had no doubt been something happen here not long ago, just looking at the scattered hoof prints told her that a few Soquili had run through here, two different types of cloven hooves, one looked like a Cerynei, the others could possibly be unicorn or Kalona. If it was the latter than chances were the first had been the hunted and this was where part of the chase had taken place.
After a while of following the tracks, wondered if perhaps there would be an injured Soquili at the end, something caught Penthesilea's eye. Adjusting her course Penthesilea moved towards a group of bushes that had an oddly white object underneath them. Using her hooves to push the bushes otu of the way Penthesilea's eyes fell upon a white colored basket with a purple band. Had one of those hoof prints belonged to the parent of this basket? That was likely the case. Before she could do anything the basket began moving, the weaving began to break apart, the foal was coming out. It had been too tight in here and she had to get out. With a bit of work she twisted this way and that, pushing out with her legs until finally what held her in place began to loosen it's grip. Light poured through the cracks but that didn't stop her, she continued until finally the basket crumbled from her effort and she lay on top of what remained of it. She took a moment to adjust to the brightness of the day before looking around at her surroundings. It didn't take long for her eyes to fall upon the large pale mare standing beside her. She took in the large mare and also the odd object she had on her. She didn't think this was the one whose voice she had heard over the last few weeks. No, that voice had been male and this was a mare. The filly looked down at her own body and then back at the mare, they were different colors, so that mean this wasn't here mother, right?
After a moment she tried to get up, her legs were a bit wobbly but she managed. Short purple tail flicked as she looked upon the mare once more, even standing the mare towered over her and was quite heavy set. "Hello." She said as she tested her legs a bit more, taking a step or two.

Penthesilea watched as the foal emerged from the basket. She was a small thing, but then again Penthesilea was used to the thicker set foals bred in her own herd. Noticing that it was a filly she knew she could not leave her here alone. Honestly had it been a cold she wouldn't have abandoned it either, all life deserved a chance, even if it was long enough to dump them on someone else. She took a step back as the filly stop and tested her legs. "Hello little one." She may be a battle hardened warrior but there was a soft side buried deep within her when it came to foals. Leaning forward she gave the filly a small nuzzle. Unless the parents showed up soon Penthesilea would have no choice but to take the girl with them. She could not abandon a female, especially when she was returning home to rebuild the herd so any new blood would be good.
"I am Penthesilea, and while I am not your mother I will take care of you." First things first, she needed a name. Penthesilea studied the filly, she was small, quite delicate looking and even her colors and marking were quite feminine, certainly not the type that made up the herd but that wouldn't change her mind. "You will need a name. Would you like to pick one or shall I do so?"
The filly wasn't sure what to think of this large mare, even her voice sounded a bit scary, but then when she leaned forward to nuzzle her everything seemed alright. Her tail gave a few happy flicks and she took a few more steps, this time circling around the mare before coming to a stop before her. Now that she was free from her basket she could stretch those cramped muscles and find out what all those sounds she had been hearing were. But the mare was speaking again and so she listened. That name would not be easy to say. And the mares words confirmed what she had initially thought, she was not here mother but she would take care of her and that was a comforting thought. "Where's my family?" She asked, wondering why the mare would take on the responsibility of raising her if she wasn't family.
Head tilted to the side as she thought about names. What did one name themselves? Certainly she wouldn't pick a difficult name like the mare had, but what choices did she have? Brows wrinkled as she thought long and hard on such an important decision. Finally the perfect answer came to her and as her tail flicked happily behind her the filly looked up at Penthesilea. "I would like to be named,,," She paused for a moment making sure this was what she truly wanted before continuing and she wanted to say it right as well. "...by you, Penthesilea." She took her time saying the mares name and hoped that she got it right. The fact that she couldn't think up a name herself and that this mare was willing to raise her even though they weren't related, she thought it would be really nice if Penthesilea named her. Just hopefully she would be given a more easy to pronounce name, but if she wasn't, she wouldn't complain.
