Grei Mansion

User Image

Home to the CEO and owner of Grei International, Grei Mansion is the epitome of wealth and class in the Avenues. The mansion is hidden behind large cast iron gates are grounds of lush grass and manicured trees that have created an Eden in New York City. The stone road leads to the large underground garage, hidden tastefully as an ivy strewn wall. Large oak doors beneath marble columns are the entrance to the house. Within one can find libraries, various random rooms and several parlors, a greenhouse study in the attic, chef style kitchen, and bedrooms galore. The basement holds a pool, gymnasium, and tech room for Sahara's use. Upstairs are the bedrooms, library, study, and several random rooms with no apparent purpose including one designed to look like a jungle and another to appear like a 50s diner. Most are decorated in an old fashioned manner. Hidden on the third floor in the greenhouse is Sahara's arcane study. Its location can only be discovered with a phrase in Latin, and power from the Grei line.

The Mansion is guarded from physical and mystical attack. The wards do not permit any aside from those given permission to enter the grounds. Be it via teleportation, car, or any other sort of travel, one will find themselves tossed out onto the street. The Wards use the traveler's energy against them, therefore, even the most powerful wizard or god could not enter.

The Grei Mansion had something called...major security enhancements. Supposedly it could hold out anyone. Well, most anyone. Except for the young man who effortlessly passed through the gates and almost poofed to the front steps.

Arthur couldn't help it. Making Sahara's security look bad was just funny. It would work on anyone not in the family...But Art happened to be in family. Grinning to himself, the Once King stepped up to the door and knocked twice.

He fell into an easy silence, hands in his pockets and whistling a Gym Class Heroes tune. Some might ask why he was wearing a classy wool jacket in the warm autumn weather. Some might also ask why he had gloves sticking out of his pockets. That could wait until later. For now he stood hoping Setsuna, not Sahara, would open the door."She probably won't kill me for not using the gate buzzer..." he thought absently, running a hand through his hair. On the inside his heart was jumping. Arthur was following advice from his dear cousin and asking Set out for a day. It wasn't a date...at least he kept telling himself that.

--- Two Days Ago---

"Arthur you really need to admit it already." Camelot had never been a place Sahara could stand, too many ghosts there, too many memories of what once had been and what might be hiding beneath the surface. But she was here to see her cousin Arthur. She needed to make up for what had been done in Central Park. She couldn't bring herself to see Setsuna, not right now, but she could do her best to make up as much as she could.

Arthur looked up to see Sahara standing in the doorway to the garden. "Admit what?" He warily closed the book he had been reading. Last the Once King had seen Sahara, she'd been demonic and attacking with Clarent. The sword was sheathed at her side.

"That you like, and more than just like, Setsuna Jackson. And it's about time you two got together."

"I don't know what you mean." Art denied, a flash of red in his cheeks. He did too, but denial always came first.Sahara had laughed then, shaking her head and walking towards him. Arthur rose to meet her, and she put a hand on his arm.

"Arthur, after all that's happen, and all that might, I think someone in this family deserves to be happy. And it certainly isn't me. So ask her out before I do it for you." Despite the teasing threat in her words, Sahara was serious, her eyes a dark green vivid with emotion. Arthur shook his head and sighed.

---Now---
Art sighed again, waiting for the door to open. Why did the women in his family insist on meddling in his love life? Not that Sahara was wrong...but still...

For those who were fortunate enough to enter through the gates and into the house, the outside of the Grei Mansion seemed excellent in concealing the vast number of rooms within. Without someone to guide them around and unless they were a guest or resident, a visitor could easily be lost. However, for the young woman within the first floor kitchen, this was no longer the case.

Setsuna had become a recent addition to the household, and it had been a huge transition for her in terms of living style. The confines of an apartment rapidly gave way to luxurious space, and it wasn't only her new room. Almost every need was under one roof- a library, an indoor garden, and especially a gymnasium and swimming pool were easily accessible, not to mention tons of space for Levi to fly around. This was a lifestyle many have dreamed of, and Setsuna was living it, though a few old habits still remained. However, the comforts of this indoor paradise seldom settled her mind for the present moment. The chaotic incident at Central Park a few days ago with Sahara was still making her a bit tense, and not because the dark energy that had caused Sahara to lose it in the first place. Setsuna hadn't seen her Twin since then. The vast house seemed a lot quieter without Sahara around, and she had been thinking of going the Grei International building itself to speak with her- hopefully without another battle erupting.

Having finally finished dicing a few salmon cuts, Setsuna scraped them into a bowl fit for a large dog... that is, if she actually had a dog who could eat raw fish. But no, this was for Levi. Before she had the option to get some fish out for Grim as well, the knock on the front door gained her attention, along with the ever-familiar aura. Strange... there wasn't any message from the gate, she thought, washing her hands clean before heading towards the front door with a grin on her face. Of course, she was not surprised- this time- upon opening the door, revealing Arthur... wearing a wool jacket in upper sixty degree temperatures. "It's not that cold out, Arthur," Setsuna chuckled, opening the door wider for Arthur to walk through. "Come in... and if you don't mind me asking, is there something you wanted to talk to me about?" For example, why the Once King was dressed to ski would be a good conversation starter.

"Heya Set." Arthur beamed, stepping side. He made no move to take off the jacket. The Grei Mansion was, as always, clean and decadent. Arthur liked Camelot better. Less traffic outside.

Nervously he leaned against the closed front door and ran a hand through his hair. The gesture would be familiar to Setsuna. He did it whenever something was on his mind. "I was wondering if maybe you'd like to spend some time with me today? Er...I mean...not like a uh...date. Just hanging out or... I promise nothing too dangerous of course. " He was speaking with the usual fake New Yorker accent, it wavered a bit with the nerves and the question was rushed. *You're a bloody idiot Arthur.*If she said no he was going to flush six shades brighter and maybe stammer some apology before disappearing....

Once she had closed the front door, Setsuna watched as Arthur gave her the "something's on my mind and I need to talk about it" signal; leaning against something and running his fingers through that golden hair of his. She stood patiently, waiting to hear what was bothering Arthur. Maybe it was about what had occurred a few days ago, or the possibility of all h**l breaking loose once more, or-

"I was wondering if you'd like to spend some time with me today. Er... I mean...not like a, uh... date. Just hanging out or... I promise nothing too dangerous, of course."

Setsuna could have been knocked over with a feather at this point. All she could do was stare at her friend. During those few seconds, she thought he had actually asked her out on a date... that is, until she remembered him saying that it wasn't. Even then, Setsuna was still trying to come up with an answer that didn't result in her speaking like a moron. There was the option of refusing because of her homework, but she had completed it about a day or two ago, and even that did nothing to relieve her nerves. Besides, how many times had she used that excuse?

Then again... Arthur was a friend, not some random stranger that had a crush on her. They got along very well, and they trusted each other; maybe an outing with him wouldn't be such a bad idea. Maybe. After all, they only hanging out, and it was not a date.... right? "I...um.... I guess it... wouldn't hurt. I mean... sitting in the house gets kinda boring- not that there's anything wrong with living here! I mean..." She sighed a bit, with an awkward silence falling between the two of them afterwards.

Arthur inwardly sighed in relief. She hadn't called him an idiot and sent him off to the asylum. And he was pleased. She had said yes!

"Great! Grab a coat Set, you're going to want it." Arthur grinned easily, noting the blush in her cheeks. She really was cute when she did that...Sighing again at his own thoughts, Arthur watched Setsuna fetch the coat.

Setsuna relaxed a bit upon seeing the grin on Arthur's handsome face. Maybe she needed an actual break- not just from school, but also from everything that had been threatening to make her hair prematurely gray for a while. Yet as she pulled on her wool-cashmere coat, the possibility of their outing being an actual date kept creeping into her mind. She kept mentally reminding herself that it wasn't; they were just hanging out for a day, and that was it. "Where are we going, Mount Everest?" Setsuna joked as she tied the coat's belt around her waist.

He shook his head, taking her arm as she finished tying her coat. "It's not so much of a where as it is a when. But Estes Park, Colorado if you must know." Winking, and before she could protest with the excuse of the butterfly effect or something, Arthur summoned some magic and sent them back ten years into the past and into the town of Estes Park.

The mansion was strangely silent as they left, aside from a cat eating the fish set out, and later, a very angry Leviathan chasing said cat.

The Grei Mansion was perhaps the most fortified house in New York City, both mortal wise and magically made...Sadly, Sahara had never invented a way to keep Arthur Pendragon out, not that he was a threat, but the Once King tended to show up when his wished. Which, as of late, happened to be quite a bit.

Appearing in the span of half a second, Arthur strolled up the lawn of the mansion with a bouquet of wild flowers in his hand. He was whistling, but only because he was nervous. Sea green eyes were tinged with a bit of doubt...Had he picked the wrong flowers? Oh for the love of the Mother, he didn't pick the wrong thing did he?!?!?! Was he supposed to bring like...a puppy to a 'not date' that he intended to make a 'real date'?!?!?! He'd been out of the dating game for a long time. Hell, when he was dating it was called 'courting' and the guy brought jewelry and horses as gifts for the girl. ...Arthur doubted Setsuna really wanted a horse to appear on her doorstep.

His wandering, worried thoughts left Arthur to trip up the steps of the mansion's porch, nearly falling on his face. Catching himself, Art ran a hand through his wheat colored hair and inwardly snapped at himself."Get it together Art." he muttered, eyes on the door. "You ruled High Britain and taught John Lennon how to sword fight...you can do this!" Wincing at himself-really who talked out loud about teaching John Lennon how to sword fight?-Arthur knocked on the door and waited...

He probably should have brought the puppy...
