Levigis' twin brother Asali was sleeping. She hardly ever left her brother's side, however she was itching for some sort of adventure. The cub she met, Acacius told her about pirates. The pirates seemed interesting to her. They were all about adventures and treasure, something that Levigis adored. It was the perfect combination. However when she told her mother, her mother told her that she was not allowed to join until she was older.
So now she just had to wait. Her mother never told her not to go looking for the pirates though. Today she wanted to meet another pirate. If she was going to be a captain and beat Acacius she would have to learn more about them. She didn't worry about a crew, she figured that others would gather to her, but she would only let the more interesting ones join her crew. Their strengths and weakness wouldn't be an issue. As long as they were fun to be around, she was sure they would make a good crew mate.
She walked near the shore line, the scent of the salty sea filled her nose. Once she was a pirate, this scent would be normal for her. She would get to smell it every morning. It was one of the many things she was looking forward to. As she walked, she saw a bright colored shell a ways away. She hurried toward it, wanting to make a trinket out of it.

Kali pawed at the crab, hissing as the creature struck out at her with a pincher. She couldn't seem to claw through it's hard shell no matter how hard she tried. Kali glared at it, trying to figure out a way to disable the painful pinchers. She had already been bitten once by the claws, and she didn't care to have a repeat performance. Maybe if she got a rock to pin it down, she could rip off the arms and take it back to her parents, perhaps show it off a little. Kali wanted the whole pride to know that she could do anything just as well as a boy could, and even do it all better. The girl grabbed a nearby rock and picked it up in her mouth wincing at the odd sensation of the hard surface against her teeth. She dropped it on one of the crab's arms, watching in sick satisfaction as it tried to pinch the rock and pull away. Kali was just about to grab the free arm when a streak of black and pink caught her eye. She looked up, purple eyes narrowing at the sight of another lion further down the beach. They seemed to be looking at something in the sand. However, Kali didn't recognize the lion at all. Could it be a trespasser? She left her crab and padded down the shore, wet sand sticking to her paws. As she got closer, Kali realized it was another cub, not much older than herself. What was she doing on pirate lands? "Who are ye, stranger?" Kali called out, keeping a small distance between the other female and herself.

Levigis ignored the cub talking to her. She didn't even bother to glance at the cub. Instead she picked up the shell and turned it over. "This one will do." She said more to herself before picking it up and putting it in a pouch around her neck. Once the shell was safely put in her pouch she turned to the other cub. "Alrigh' well sistah I am Levigis. Ya sorta look like this crappay fish I met. Acacius his name was. Te fish said he had sistahs. Are ya one of them?"
That would mean she was a pirate. More competition or maybe a new crew mate? That would piss Acacius off. "So are ya a pirate?" She asked curiously, now paying more attention to the lioness. "Ima goin' to be a captain someday. Once I'm oldah though. My ma won't let me and my brothah leave her. Right now we just play pirates and go explorin'."
She didn't like that she had to stick with her mother so much, but it wasn't too much of an issue. It wouldn't be long when her and her twin would be joining up with the pirates and showing everyone how strong and fun they were, that they were true pirates. She wanted stories told about her adventures and she wanted to be remembered after she was gone. (she calls everyone brotha or sistah by the way).

Her ear's perked up. Acacius? This Levigis had met her brother? Her brother had gone off and explored without inviting her. Kali bit back a growl of frustration. She was going to give her brother an earful when she got back, no doubt about it. Leaving her behind, ha! Then again, she hadn't really invited him out to go crab hunting...so maybe she could let it slide. Just this once. Kali looked the other cub over. Levigis almost reminded her of her father, but no one in the family had any pink in them, so Kali wrote it off as a coincidence. A strange coincidence to be sure, but one nonetheless. "Aye, I be a pirate, and Acacius be my brother." She stepped closer to the other female, chest puffed out with pride. "For now they be callin' me Kali, but once I'm a Cap'n too they'll be callin' me a different name." She surveyed Levigis carefully, trying to decide whether or not to consider her a threat. If she was also going to be a Captain one day, she might pose a threat to Kali's own career. Then again, she supposed there were certain advantages to having allies, but Kali didn't think she'd be willing to put that much trust in someone who wasn't family. "So what make ye think yer wantin ta be a pirate?"

Levigis gave Kali a confused looked. Acacius hadn't told her that pirates changed their names. She was quite fond of her name and wasn't sure if she would be willing to change it. If that's what it meant to be a captain though, she would do it. "Why da we have ta change our names ta be a captain?" She asked. "I like my name. Captain Levi, the pirate legend." She spoke, thinking of the future, of her adventures.
That was a silly question. Why wouldn't she want to be a pirate? There were so many things about them that she admired, all the mystery she didn't understand yet. "I guess I wanna be a pirate cause of teh adventure." If it had to be one thing it would be that. "and find a crew, but ta crew would have ta be different. I don't wan' a strong crew, I wan' ones I can trust and make friends with."
She gave a nod to Kali. It was really just about that, in the simplest way. That's all she really wanted out of being a pirate, adventure and friends. There were other things that attacked her to become a great pirate, but those two things were the main ones. "My brotha Asali is gonna join my crew and be my first mate. I trust no one more than him. Do ya have a crew in mind?" She asked. When she met Acacius, he was looking for his own crew. She wasn't sure if it was common for young captains to be to start looking early or not.
