(mission rp)
Ajani watched the small pride below. He could barely see cheetahs being used as labor, being forced to move different blocks around and carve from them. It was easy to see they were creating a statue, probably of the dictator. He didn't like how the pride was being handled. More than anything he would just like to get this mission done with. However he knew patience was the key. His plan was to get captured by her guards. Part of the reason he was assigned to the mission was that he was one of the best entertainers and that he was male. The tyrant was known to love the company of males, especially beautiful ones who knew how to dance.
He glanced at Sol, who was still cleaning his dirty fur. Ajani let out a sigh. The reason Sol was on the mission was because Ajani had requested him to join him. During the war, there was a wall that formed between them. They had different view points on the war and it had faltered their friendship. Now that the war was over he wanted to fix their friendship. On the trip there, Sol hardly said a word. It was obvious to Ajani that the young fighter was still bitter about the war, but he hoped he would get over it sooner than later.
When Ajani told him to clean up, Sol just glared at him, until giving in. Ajani didn't like giving orders, but to make it believable that they were both entertainers, he needed Sol to look his best. Sol hated the fact that he would be pretending to be an entertainer. Ajani had given him dancing lessons before the war, which now seemed like a useful skill. He gave him more advance lessons upon hearing about the mission. Sol was a decent dancer, however his facial expressions would always give him away. Ajani had brought along a veil to give to him so when they did have to preform, Sol could wear that and hopefully give him an alluring effect.
Ajani noticed the guards bringing in a couple of leopards. He guessed by their jewelery and lean figures that they were entertainers. The only way in or out was with one of the guards. It was one of the first things he noticed. The guards were the only ones to ever leave. It would also be their only way in. They would have to get captured. Sol wouldn't like that, but it had to be done. “Almost ready handsome?” Ajani asked, his eyes still on the pride below.

Why was he even brought on this mission, he thought angrily. They had traveled to the mountain top to watch the pride. After a morning of watching, Ajani ordered him to clean up. Sol had never been the type who 'cleaned up'. He was proud of the dirt he collected, which was usually from his fights. For some reason Ajani had thought it would be best if they got rid of it. Of course Ajani was the leader of the mission, so Sol obeyed.
He spent most of the day pulling bugs out of his fur, licking it clean in spots till it was perfect. If he were to look at himself, he was sure he wouldn't recognize himself if it weren't for his scars. He wasn't sure what Ajani was going to do about those. There was no way of hiding them.
He just wanted to hurry and finish this up. They were supposed to get rid of the tyrant of the pride. He would have gladly taken the tyrant's life, however the task was given to Ajani. The older cheetah had been trained to get close and kill. However Sol knew that Ajani never killed another. Sol had taken others life and he enjoyed it. It would be a simle task that wouldn't affect him. Ajani however...
Ajani was like a white lily, one that was flawless. The moment he took the kill, there would be a rip in one of the petals. At first it would look harmless, even unnoticeable. However over time it would rip and shred until it looked indistinguishable. He still kept his distant from his old 'friend', however even Sol didn't want to see that happen to Ajani. If he could, he would take the kill to save Ajani the pain.
“Anytime you are jerk.” Sol replied with his 'poker face'. It was meant to be a joke, but he knew with his voice and stare it looked like he was angry with Ajani.

Ajani laughed. Of course Sol would be the type who wouldn't respect a superior on a mission. Ajani didn't mind. As long as they had some sort of communication it was fine. For this mission it was crucial they speak to each other. “To get in, we must get ourselves captured. We will be brought in that way. If we attack without inside knowledge we will be in trouble.”
Holding a cloth, Ajani walked to Sol and draped the cloth around him, making sure to hide all the scars. “If you didn't have that mouth on you would have made a decent entertainer. Perhaps after this mission you'll find a new rank change?” Ajani said with a grin. He glanced down at the pride and saw some guards heading out. “Get your jewelery on and remember to smile. Do not speak unless asked a question. Right now you are my apprentice.”
He started to walk forward. They would cross paths with the guards as they went down the trail. He walked slowly and gracefully. Sol walked beside him, Ajani kept an eye on him in the corner of his eye. The younger cheetah didn't need his protection, Ajani knew that. However if Sol screwed up, it would turn bad for them.

Sol gave him a grunt. He did not want to get caught. It would imply that he was weak. Only the weak got caught after all. However it made sense. They couldn't marge in, despite that method being the preferred method in Sol's opinion. He looked away as Ajani drapped the cloth around him. This was embarrassing. Being dressed by an entertainer. “I would rather be a pack mule then an entertainer.” Sol said quietly. He gathered up the jewelery and quickly got it on. In his small pack of items, one of the items was a veil. He was sure Ajani just added that to mock him.
Despite his dislike, he put it on. As they walked down, he watched Ajani walk and tried to mimic it. Being an entertainer was the last thing Sol wanted. However pretending to be one for a short time might be fun. However if Ajani mentioned it to anyone he would be sure to get his revenge some way. He didn't care if Ajani was a higher rank then him. Sol could handle the punishment, just not the embarrassment.
Sol noticed the guards that were heading toward them. One of them looked in their direction. “We have been caught.” Sol said quietly. This would not be fun, not fun at all. He stuck even closer to Ajani now, like a pupil would to their teacher after seeing something frightening. Acting was something Sol was good at. He always pretended, acted around others. It was almost second nature. It was rare for him to show his true face. Really only Rada and Ajani knew the real him.
The guards came up to them once they reached the bottom of the mountain. Sol kept his eyes off them, avoiding any contact. Looking meek was something that was hard for even him to act. He just tried to think how others looked at him and it became easier.
“Where are you two headed?” one of the guards asked, looking up and down the pair of cheetahs. “If you aren't too busy our queen would pay you two well if you were to entertain her for a little bit. She prefers her entertainment to be in good health, but says if they happen to get bruised on their way to her, she doesn't mind.” The guards had a huge grin as he looked at Sol with interest.
The look sent a shiver down Sol's spine, something that wasn't an act.

Ajani watched the guards, then gave them a smile. “Well, I think we can spend a little time entertaining. We are not due at our next engagement for another couple days. What do you say apprentice? Would you like to entertain these gent's fine queen?” Ajani glanced at Sol. He couldn't help but worry about the young cheetah. Once they were inside the pride it should pass quickly. He did have to admit that Sol was a good actor.
“Follow us entertainers. We will show you to our queen. If you try to escape while we head there we will not hesitate to smash your beautiful faces.” The guard said, leaning close to Ajani. The sent of a fresh kill on his breath. “And after you entertain our queen, we might pick you up. I think I could use some entertaining. Especially by ones who look so feminine.”
“We will only entertain your queen for now.” Ajani stated. “We might be interested in entertaining more if the price is right. However for you two slobs it might cost a paw and a foot.” He knew that would cause some anger, but the guard didn't hit him. Instead he got a push forward, away from Sol.
“I expect that while we are entertaining you respect my apprentice as much as you respect me, if not more. We are not just meat you hunt. We are skilled performers.” Ajani said, watching the guards carefully. He could now see the pride up close. There were a lot of workers, moving around stones, and dirt. No one seemed particularly happy beside the guards. Ajani couldn't help but feel sorry for them.
“From here on out, we will treat you however we want. You are our new servants. If you do not want to be put to work like the rest of them, you best obey us.” The guard hissed, pushing him toward the dens at the base of a mountain. “If you try to escape you will witness the wrath of our queen. She is said to have defeated a god before and that even some gods pray to her.”

Sol didn't like the way the guards were treating them. Ajani seemed pretty cool about it though. He wondered how much Ajani was told things like this, treated like an object and not as a cheetah. He wasn't close to any entertainers other then Ajani so the whole thing was alien to him. At least he knew he never treated an entertainer like that...
Treated them like an object, using them.
Ajani, the only person who knew his secrets. Sol felt for a moment that he was just as bad as the guards. He would make it up to Ajani though. He didn't mean to use Ajani though. It was just a coincidence.
When the guards talked about their queen, Sol held back a laugh. What they said sounded like lies. He was sure that these rumors around her were all lies. She was probably a weakling like the rest of this pride. He did a quick glance at the guards. They didn't seem that strong. He was sure that if he wanted to he could take them down and keep Ajani safe.
They reached the den. His eyes widened when he saw the queen. She was a large, strong but beautiful looking lioness. Surrounding her were male felines, from lions to leopards and even hybrids. There were no cheetahs though. Sol guessed that they were there to fix that. A smile spread across the lioness maw. “Aw lovely. Come her my pretties.”

This was where their real mission started, Ajani thought, as he headed toward the lioness. “Hello your highness. We were brought to entertain you. I would like to sing for you, while my pupil dances. Is that alright with you?” Ajani noticed the other entertainers when they headed in. They looked so tired, so worked. He wondered why they didn't try to run away. Was the rumors of this lioness that terrifying.
For now they would continue the act. They would be her entertainers for a short time. Once they were sure they could get out safely, they would do their attack. The thought of killing another didn't scare Ajani, not as much as he thought it would. However now that he knew who his victim would be he had a harder time accepting his given task. He would do it regardless. Letting Sol do it would be a risky move. Sol was a a beast when he wanted to be. There would be much unneeded blood shed and Ajani did not want that on his paws. He would take the life of the queen to insure that Sol wouldn't kill the life of an innocent.
“I would love to see you sing and dance for me.” the lioness said with a purr. She went up to Ajani and gave him a gentle lick on the face. “But then after wards I would like you to feed me my beautiful cheetah. If you do a good job at singing I might give you a little snack. Wouldn't that be nice?”
Ajani gave her a gentle smile. “It would. We have traveled and we are very hungry. We will be sure to do a good job. Apprentice are you ready?”

Sol nodded. He was grateful that Ajani was getting all the attention. As Ajani sang, Sol started to move his body. The wrap around him made it a bit difficult, however he was careful to not get rid of it. Scars would not make for a beautiful entertainer. As he danced, he felt the eyes of the guards and the queen on him. There were some entertainers who even eyed him with envy. It was an interesting feeling, being the center of attention.
He wanted it to stop though. It was becoming too comfortable. He didn't like the way some of them were eying him either. His eyes went to Ajani to make sure he was doing okay. Ajani just gave him a nod and smile. Sol continued his dance, speeding up his steps, adding twirls. If Ajani never showed him how to dance he wouldn't be here. A proper entertainer would probably be in his place.
However he wouldn't be able to keep Ajani safe. Sol gave the queen a playful wink. He was about to frown, but realized that would be no good. It would be bad for both of them. Then Ajani slowed down, Sol did the same till they ended together. The queen went up to Sol.
“You are beautiful and talented my dark cheetah. You both are. I want both of you to stay here with me and I will take care of you and make sure you are happy.”
If the mission failed that might be stuck as her entertainers forever, Sol thought. His own worse nightmare. This mission would not fail. He could not let it.

“We have other places to go your highness. However if you would like, after paying us we could return.” Ajani knew that leaving wasn't an option. He wanted to see what was keeping the entertainers here though. He thought that saying this would get her in defensive mode. Once he knew, he could figure out a way around it.
The queen smiled. “My lovely, you don't have a choice. You were brought to me by two of my guards. Two of my very large obedient army. If you even tried to leave you would be punished.” She went to one of the entertainers and grabbed him by the mane, opening his mouth so they could all see. Some of his back teeth were missing. The entertainer whimpered in pain. “See my first entertainer tried to leave me and after he got me pregnant with my first litter. Such a rude little thing he is. My guards took care of him though. They took elephant tail hair, tied it around his teeth and started to pull them out one by one. I would hate if something were to happen to you like that.”
An... an army? No. That couldn't be right. However when he looked at the guards stationed in the den, there were now five, no seven stationed around the room. “I must have been mistaken. I think we could spend some more time here. I would be honored to be of service to you.” They would need to get her away from the pride to deal with her, Ajani realized. If she was truthful about her guards then it would cause a problem for them. That could mean that they would be stuck there even longer.
Sol would not be happy about this, not one bit.

He was so close to her. It would just be one movement and he could just slit her throat with his claws. There were too many guards though. Knowing his luck they would gang up on him and kill him and maybe Ajani. That was a risk he wasn't ready to try. Patience for now, even though he lacked it. He would work on it while he was here.
The queen returned to him. “Now my new entertainers, I would like you to feed me. My guards will give you the meat. All you have to do is rip it to pieces and and put it in my mouth. I promise I won't bite you little one.” She gave Sol a wink. Yep, being an entertainer sucked, Sol thought. The guards brought them the remains of a prey animal. Ajani and Sol exchanged looks as they realized the task a head of them. Ajani gave him an apologetic look.
They started on the task a head of them. Sol could not wait till this mission was over. He would gladly take this queens life after she made him do such disgraceful thing. Patience though, he reminded himself. If Ajani's plan didn't work, he would start one of his own.
