Personally I prefer Straight, they're more aesthetically appealing and more suited for cutting, even if they're much less convenient to "saw" with.

I agree with you on this one. I preffer a plain edge. Serrations can be a bit difficult to sharpen. I find they are great for cutting though if they are done right. I like the look of plain better as well. And I have a SOG mini Trident. It's a great knife IMO!

The Sypey Salt knives are really excellent. And I prefer a plain edge.

As I've heard from my knife friend. I'm thinking of getting one, if only to have that option for an alternative blade when straight edges don't make as much logical sense.

Ah the Salts come in both plain and serrated. They just feature superior rust resistant blades. Basically they're wwater knives but can be used use any purpose. 3nodding

Recently I've noticed again how well some serrations can cut easier then a blade would.

I prefer combo, because you need the right kind of knife for the right job. like the serrated for cutting ropes and the straight for slitting necks. ninja

Oh it's all about the combo.. The straight look the best, but you just can't beat a good serration when you need it.

agreed. Straight looks best for sure.

Something I've noticed which is kind of odd. When companies make a special or limited edition version of a knife they often only offer it in combo edge. I think perhaps they would assume that many buyers might by the knife specifcally as a collector piece. But in that case why not offer it in straight? Since from what I've gathered most people prefer the look of a straight edge. *shrug*
