My sister bought some cheapo flea collars from dollar general. Put it on both her dogs and her cat. She says they're doing REALLY well.

They usually have a horrible flea problem. And they usually use the brand name flea treatments. Maybe going back to basics help sometimes. XD

I'm currently trying out this Uh.. silica.. diata.. somethin' earth. Supposed to work by stripping the flea's wax coating and dehydrating them.

Argh, I can't tell if it works yet 'cause I can't do the application. Twice I've tried and I've tried holding my breath and using sawdust masks.

My lungs are so sensitive to that crap I'm in pain for a good 30 minutes after we do the animals. DX

Pearl didn't have a problem with fleas this year. Only one or two I've spotted. but her biggest problem because she went outside was TICKS.

I do with some assistant from my dad carefully remove and properly dispose of the tick. She is still checked daily for them and we do everything possible to keep them away. This year, she brought 4-5 ticks home. Three was in one week. x~x'

I used the Sentry Naturals Flea and Tick medication and so far, we've been in the clear. it's $15 a box (three applications) from PetSmart. Couldn't get a flea AND tick collar because everyone else locally had that problem. Plus, the Naturals has natural and organic ingredients and Pearl smelled of peppermint for well over a week. (Main ingredient was peppermint oil)
