Name of Kid here: Aaron Matthews
Fear amount of kid: 0

About Aaron: Aaron is a pretty quiet kid who would really prefer to read instead of listening to Jimmy's declarations. He doesn't really believe that monsters exist... but he does read fairy tales which gives him a certain amount of uncertainty. Despite this, he assures his younger twin sister (whom he is rather protective of) that there really is nothing to be afraid of! After all, monsters only appear in fairy tales, right...?

Name of Kid here: Annabelle Matthews
Fear amount of kid: 0

About Annabelle: Cheerful, naive, and easy to impress, Annabelle tends to believe everything that she hears, no matter how wild or ridiculous it may sound. Despite her brother's constant reassurances, she still believes in--and fears--the idea that monsters are real. While she's usually one of the first to believe whatever Jimmy says, this time, she's adamant that he's wrong. She's just not sure if she wants to prove it...

Did they really have to turn their night lights off? Truth to be told, after growing so accustomed to the soothing slow of their night lights, Annabella wasn't so keen on being plunged into complete darkness. Aaron would tell her time and time again that monsters didn't exist...but how was he so sure? Didn't he hear those quiet thuds that would come from the hallway every so often in the middle of the night when everyone was asleep? Or the creepy scratching noises that came from their window?

This was all Jimmy's fault! Although she didn't want to switch off all the lights, the last thing Annabelle wanted was for anyone to call Aaron a chicken just because she had been afraid of a little darkness.

In the end, after their parents had come to tuck them in, she wriggled free from her blankets and hopped down from her bed, skittering across the room to where the night lights were. "Psst, ready Aaron? I'm turning the lights off!" Stooping down, she took a deep breath and flicked the switch off. Without giving the night light a second glance, she ran back across the room, the pitter-patter of her feet loud in the otherwise silent room. There was the sound of groaning springs as she dived onto her bed, and then she wriggled back under the covers, turning to peek over at Aaron.

"Do you think we'll be okay?"

Aaron's logic was that when they shut their eyes, it would all be dark anyway, so night lights didn't really matter. Although, really, he wasn't going to lie that it was sort of nice having it; it was like having stars in their room watching over them while they drifted off to sleep. That was probably why he didn't insist they were old enough to be rid of night lights, especially not when it gave Annabella a sense of security as well.

As much as he would grumble under his breath about how ridiculous it all was and they didn't need to prove anything to Jimmy, Aaron didn't want both him and his sister to be teased by the other kids.

It was just one night, anyway!

"...Okay." He said, settling himself under his covers, staring up at the ceiling as the faint glow of the usual night light was overtaken by the darkness. "We'll be fine. I'm here for you." They had each other, so it wouldn't be so bad.

Choosing the window to sneak into he heard the scarelings chatting to one another in the darkness of the room, a smirk formed over his lips as he heard the male sounding child inform the other that they would be alright and that he was there for the other. Sliding into the window he hid in the curtains for a moment before slipping to the floor and crawling towards the boys bed, his tail dragging across the floor but pulling up half way as he did so not to give his position away but announce somethings presence.

Phasing through the window, Rosy overheard some the the chatter giving her the idea of two human scareling. Okay, so this wouldn't be such a bad room to mess around in. Slipping carefully away from the window, she floats towards the desk before ducking under it. Two of one fear, not a bad option in her mind.

With a low moan that grew louder rather quickly, she push the chair as hard as she could across the room. After that, she drags her nails down either side of the desk.

Annabelle was always grateful for her twin brother's reassurance, but as she turned to look at him, she suddenly froze. Did she...did she just see something by Aaron's bed just now? Or...

N-no. No, she was probably just imagining things. She was already pretty jumpy, after all.

It was probably for this reason that she let out a short, frightened shriek when there was suddenly a loud clatter. Scrambling to sit up in her bed, the little girl stared at the fallen desk chair with wide eyes. How...how had it rolled all the way over there by itself? And what were those scratching noises coming from the desk!?

Letting out a high-pitched whimpering sound, Annabelle jumped out of her bed, dragging her blankets with her as she went to huddle on her brother's bed. "A-Aaron! There's something there!"

Agsil had hung behind the other two for a moment, taking her time in actually getting through the window without... well. Breaking anything. Wings and all. Not to mention it gave her a miniature show to see how others dealt with the human world.

Keeping low to the ground, she crept over to hide under the girl's bed. What a loud scareling she was... It wasn't the most comfortable fit under the bed of course. But with her tail and wings tucked close to her body and ground she was able to make it... somewhat work. Noting how the scareling had just ran to the boy's bed, Agsil decided to play a little. Positioning herself somewhat in the center, she raised her wings beneath the bed and began to shake the girl's bed. She only had so much strength, but did at least seem to manage to rattle it around a good bit. So much for beds being a safe haven, hm?

Unable to phase through walls and unwilling to lurk in windows, West had chosen the front door as his entry point into this, his first child's room. He couldn't help but wonder if opening locked doors in the Human World was some sort of special power granted around true Halloween, or if these people were just entirely too trusting.

There were a few other students present when he slipped inside, and as his eyes adjusted, he saw what looked like a scareling hopping into another scareling's bed. Well, well. Two for the price of one.

He slid over to their desk, picking up a pair of small, star-shaped glasses and perching them on his nose. He moved closer to the occupied bed, remaining in the shadows even though he was fairly certain these kids couldn't even see him. As he passed the mirror, the boil caught a glimpse of his reflection. The things he lowered himself to for educational purposes.

West stifled a sigh as he grabbed the scarelings' casketball and raised it to shoulder-height. Not the kids, he thought, frowning as he bounced it across the room instead, knocking the chalkboard to the floor with a clatter.

Oh, oh she knew it! Monsters did exist! STUPID JIMMY, she knew that he was wrong! Oh, just wait until she got to school tomorrow morning! She was going to tell him all about--

"Kyaah! AAROOOON!" The little girl wailed in fright as the bed to the side--her bed, the one she had just evacuated moment ago--startled to shake and rattle. As if that wasn't already bad enough, other things started moving around by itself. She could see the glint of her star-shaped glasses as it seemingly hovered around the room, and when she saw the basketball suddenly lift up from beside Aaron's bed, she started whimpering.

"Turn on the light. Aaron, Aaron, please turn on the--"

She cut herself off with another shriek as the ball suddenly flew across the room, crashing into their chalkboard.

It was a wonder their parents didn't come running in to see what was wrong

Rosy eyes went instantly to the casketball as it landed just near the chalkboard, she had to keep herself from going after it. Shaking her head, she looks away from it only to glance back then to the demon that had it. He had the right idea it would seem, and she was a ghost...

Ducking out from under the desk, she snatched up the casketball before rolling it towards the bookshelf with her foot. Keeping within the shadows, she slips into the bookshelf to hide before reaching out the down to pick up the casketball.

Holding it out, she allows herself to start glowing faintly as she bounces the ball between her hands. Her hands darting out through the bookshelf once in awhile to keep the rhythm of the bouncing going.

It was probably a mouse. Aaron decided, when he heard the first noise. Or something of that sort. Nothing to get too fussed about. He was about to settle himself comfortably into a sleeping position and actually go to sleep when there were more sounds. A moan that grew in volume that Aaron tried to think of as just the wind, because sometimes the wind could howl and make really weird noises. And then scratching noises? Had that thing been a cat instead of a mouse?

Annabelle leaped to his bed, and he patted her on the back, attempting to reassure her. "It's probably just a stray cat or something... Hey!" A yelp escaped from his lips as Annabelle's bed started shaking.

...Okay, a cat couldn't do that. But he was the big brother, and it was his duty to calm Annabelle down and not add to her fear! The young boy swallowed, putting his arm around Annabelle. "It's okay," was all he managed to say. But what else could he say? That it was just their imagination? Annabelle's bed was shaking, and he couldn't come up with a logical explanation as to why.

And then more stuff started moving around, like the glasses that originally sat on their table and his ball crashed into the chalkboard. Annabelle was almost close to sobbing, and Aaron couldn't deny her request; putting his blankets around her and leaning over to switch on the night light. "M-maybe it's the wind."

Oh great, he was stammering. Aaron took in a deep breath, calming his slightly rattled nerves. There was nothing there. Tentatively, he flicked off the lights again, but Aaron made a mental note that he was going to tell if Jimmy's little antic made his sister cry!

As their night light went off, a glow came from another corner of the room, as the ball started bouncing. Aaron could only stare and huddle closer to his sister, putting his arms around her.

[Entering]

Like West, Hel couldn’t phase through things, so she came in through the window, and made a bee line for the book shelf.

But wait…there were some other Halloweeners in here already…hrm. Oh hey…was that West? Seeing the demon pull off a rather crafty scare tactic, Hel paused in the shadows, and gave West the bro nod of approval.

The ghoul then stuffed herself into the bookshelf, rattling some of the books. Hel apparently liked stuffing herself into small spaces. It was like a personal challenge, if you will. Oops…well…she wasn’t a thin ghoul, okay? Wanting to be quick though, Hel grabbed a book and then threw it across the room. She grinned as it landed against the wall and floor with a few thuds.

It was comforting to have her twin brother there was her. She curled up tighter when she felt her brother wrap his blanket around her, hesitantly lifting her head when he gave in to her request and flicked on the light. Squinting, the little girl glanced around anxiously, her gaze frightened as she searched the room.

...N-nothing? There was nothing? ...B-but that was impossible! They had seen the things floating, and heard all the crashes, and...and...

Whimpering, she gave a little nod at Aaron's attempt to reassure her, apparently missing the slight stutter in his voice. R-right--the wind! That must have been it, right? When the lights were snapped back off, Annabelle curled up at her brother's side, burying her face in his shoulder.

StupidJimmystupidjimmystupidjimmystupidjimmy--

She let out a little whine at the sudden, steady beat of the basketball bouncing by itself, a sound that only made her cling to Aaron ever tighter. She wasn't going to look, she wasn't going to look, she wasn't going to--

Her whole body jerked in shock at the loud thud of the book being flung into the wall, and she let out a scream before burying her face back in her brother's shoulder, wailing. "NOOOO nononono! JIMMY YOU'RE SO STUPID I HATE YOU! LEAVE ME AND AARON ALONEEEE!"

Shun could hear screams coming from this room even before he entered. This should be easy then. Once inside, he realized that there wasn't just one kid in here, but two! Well this should be interesting. While he scanned his surroundings, he caught sight of a couple familiar faces, whom he nodded in acknowledgement to. From there, he swiftly and silently went on to take his place.

He stood behind the curtain and looked out the window. Good. There seemed to be enough light for this. Summoning his daggers, he raised one up and moved across the window, allowing his shadow to be seen through the veil briefly.

Too bad it wasn't storming. It would likely work better if he could just use a flash of lightning. But he had to make due with what he had here.

The dragon was having a supremely hard time suppressing her laughter. These two humans were hysterical! The boy was pretty brave, yes, but the girl! Oh this was just far too much fun. With one hand clamped over her mouth, she lowered her wings from up against the bed for the time being. Others were in the room... she couldn't really switch up her position for the time being.

What to do, what to do...

Deciding to forego creativity in this situation, and upping the volume instead, she began to drag her tail slowly against the ground, back and forth. She wondered if the humans could catch a glimpse of it against the ground, or perhaps only hear it..? Regardless, a growl began to build, wings lifting again to slowly jostle the girl's bed once more. Carefully, she positioned her hands palms down just below her shoulders. Would have to be careful with this... didn't want to put too much force into it... Agsil's growling became louder, more threatening, snarling and snapping at the air as the bed began to shake more violently. Finally, she let out a sound caught somewhere between a howl and a scream, pushing up with her arms and wings to lift the bed from the ground before dropping back down low and letting the bed hit the floor with a bang.

--Wow. She'd really misjudged the weight of the bed and how much room was under here. Agsil bit her lip to keep from yelping at the pain jolting through her wings, effectively squished between her body and the furniture. Ow, ow, ow....
