After all the tension that had built up within him from the past few days, Azria was more than ready to let out a little steam. He had needed to do something sorely for a while now, and the extra energy had pumped his body full of adrenaline that made him antsy and a little irritable. The dark lion was new enough to this place and these lions that he tried to keep his frustration from showing - after all, it wouldn't do to get himself thrown out of the pride within moments of his joining it - but there was no mistaking the frantic energy that fueled the spring in his step and the tension in his shoulders and back.
Azria needed to relax, and this was how he did it. This, a fight, a sparring match, whatever anyone wanted to call it, this was how he let off steam, how he drove that building fury from his system and kept his head screwed on straight around decent company like the lions that now surrounded him.
As he stepped up to the fight, his dark eyes took in his opponent carefully, searching for weaknesses and possible points of advantage. Although Azria imagined he would be able to take a loss and deal with it without quite losing his head, he would much rather not lose. Winning, after all, was sweet.

 To say Poa Subiani was nervous would not be incorrect. He'd never done this before and now he was fighting in the name of Mantis Clan - his new mate's own clan. If he failed and failed badly then he might bring shame upon them and then what would they think? That their clan would be guarded by someone like him? That one of their daughter's had married a failure? He hadn't even met his in-laws yet and to say he was nervous about that already was an understatement.
As far as average lions were concerned, Poa Subiani was perhaps a little shorter. He was stockier, though, which gave him a good defence if he could brace himself correctly and swiftly enough. Even still, this rogue combatant he'd been put up against looked like he had been made for this.
He dipped his head, eyeing up the dark fur and that blaze of yellow that framed Azria's face. "I am Poa Subiani." He introduced. "Today I represent Mantis Clan." It was still very new to introduce him as such. He had once been a Shadow. But not any more. Drawing in a deep breath he tried to chase away the nerves and focus on this match. If he hesitated now he might as well just give up.
